Yes, we knew about the proposal. Yes, we drove ourselves insane trying to explain it to our normie relatives. In the end, MI is determined by the metro area and Grand Rapids to a lesser extent.

If GR sides with the rural areas, the vote can outweigh the metro. But that doesn't happen often.

Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion offers a paired down Gloomhaven experience. It's cheaper and more streamlined than the box box version. Haven't played Descent, so I can't do I side to side comparison. My group didn't find Jaws to be very complex but we also trend towards more complex games in general.

I remember seeing election results on Fox News last week, so in some ways, the system is even faster!

Swinging a little low, but you're in the right ballpark.

(I'll give you a hint, the entire thing is a sexual fetish)

That's something that has kind of irks me about Critical Drinker and to a lesser extent EFAP as of late. They tend to dismiss the subtle propaganda with the excuse of "it's not that big of a deal" without recognizing that a series of "it's not that big of a deal"s is what got us here in the first place.

Not that I expect everyone to go full noticer and call out every little perceived instance of wokery but acknowledging that they are there only to tell everyone not to worry about is lame.

Basic pizzagate run-down (before it was hijacked and pumped full of autistic nonsense to distract) is that high-level elites have been caught communicating in "pizza related" exchanges that have really weird syntax and don't make a lot of sense in context.

Stuff like: “Do you think I’ll do better playing dominos on cheese than on pasta?”

Or: “I’m dreaming about your hot dog stand in Hawaii…”

Even if you don't assign specific meanings to specific words, it's at least worth looking into.

It was intentionally derailed when an actor fired a gun in a politically connected pizza restaurant so we can all say anyone who mentions it is right-wing terrorists.

Good. She should be mocked by both sides. At best, she is a lesser of two evils candidate. At worst, she is an intentional plant to get the right-wing populists to vote for the more moderate candidate with the mistaken belief that it will make them more socially acceptable.

Awfully uncharacteristic of you to be so charitable as to assume that most abortions happen for drastic reasons.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. To enjoy even a lower, middle-class lifestyle often requires multiple jobs. There is a breaking point where you can work less and get benefits and do ok or if you make a bit more, you have to foot the bill for the outrageous cost of insuring a family in America.

My brother's job offers insurance that would cost 80% of his take home pay if they were to cover him and the kids.

I pay what my beat up old vehicle is worth annually in insurance because the state requires it.

If you aren't handy and willing to put in the elbow-grease to make shitty products at least livable, you pay a premium to keep up with house/vehicle maintenance. The choice sometimes is between being Money rich and Time poor or being Money poor and Time poor
