If a publication is neither censored nor being consistently attacked by the law and/or politics, they are in on the grift. No real "thorn in their side" would be allowed to make millions and freely travel the world.

For me, at this point, anything happening outside of a 20 mile radius of my home, or outside of what I can pick up on my antennas, is not my problem. I keep an eye on and engage in state politics but I understand that even at a state level things may go south.
When it comes to well-to-do conservatives like Limbaugh, I can't say much. I remember listening to him when I was young and I remember when he passed. I don't know where his money went.
Tucker, though, seems to be using his money. I doubt it was easy to get flights to Russia from the US. I don't know how you think Tucker would use his money to fund para -anythings at any level, though.

I see what you're saying, but I think you'll find that people have their own ideas of what success is, let alone the direction to take to succeed.
Rush and Tucker may have felt content to spread their own influence, to spread their message or morals as much as possible. Alternatively, they might not have trusted something that isn't directly in their control to prevent compromise or contradiction.
As a thought experiment, consider how you or others may feel about Gab, Rumble, Odysee, Brave browser, Truth Social, communities.win, Prager U, Turning Point USA, O'Keefe Media Group, or whatever else you know about. They are things being built, but which takes priority, or even granted support in the first place? Why?

His videos start off OK. Sometimes a clever meme clip to kick it off. He usually introduces the video with a good summary of what's going on. But after that he spends like half the video reading Twitter comments .

One of the things that fractured us back then was we didn't have a clear definition of our enemy, it's why we did the 'ethics in gaming journalism' angle. When the older guard conservatives came, we thought it would to define and target the enemy but it was just them trying to make us THEIR boyscouts.
A decade later, we KNOW who the enemy is, we KNOW how to define ourselves so when the old guard try the same grift, we can say to fuck off and either fight in your own area or shove it as we'll do it ourselves. They still haven't adapted to the times and are largely still controlled opposition.

They're telling you what you want to hear. And when they get something obvious wrong, or won't cover what you'd like them to, you begin to understand that they're in it for themselves when it counts, and for you when they can profit off it.
And when the tide shifts and they can't possibly not cover it, because it's supposedly in their wheelhouse, they'll cover it with about a third of their ass and gloss over a lot of it, while taking at least the bare minimum amount of youtube minutes to get that sweet sweet revenue.

While I agree that Daily Wire is more interested in grift and allows themselves to be controlled opposition at times, I think there's a bit of overreaction to the highlighted sentence, because there's actually a lot of truth to it, a lot of gamers are losers, or incels. A lot aren't, and the issue of DEI destroying gaming because it's white male dominated is very real and something that all on the Right should be fighting against.
Ben Shapiro on DW specifically said he doesn't care about the browning of America it's about ideology not race. They aren't fighting to defend white males or their spaces.
