I guess that's what happens when you live under a literal feminist cult for decades. the feminists in Korea got too extreme too quickly which caused a backlash.
the response to that ferry capsize was so horrendous. it had an entire school senior class on a field trip. nearly every single one of them drowned in their rooms as they were told to stay in place while the ferry slowly sank.
Meanwhile, all the higher-ups were scrambling to construct a narrative to cover their asses. The so-called trusted authorities will send you to your death if it means they don't lose face. Face is everything.

The charts show that American and British women are more liberal than Korean women. Does that mean the Koreans were just more radical in some non-liberal type of way?
The issue that we are having here is that the terms liberal and Neo-Marxist are basically incompatible.
Liberals, as a movement, believe in the empowerment of the individual.
Neo-Marxists (including feminists) believe in group identities (class, gender, race) as defining traits and they believe in the use of authoritarian power (guns) to make people do what they are told.
Neo-Marxists will use liberalism, as long as the individuals make choices that they agree with. With women and feminisms, they generally do. Women use the individual power and responsibility granted by liberalism to make selfish, self-serving choices, which in general advance the cause of feminisim.
None the less, Marxists and Neo-Marxists are ostensibly working towards a revolution, at which point they will pick up guns and make everyone do what they want. At that point the sham of liberalism will have served its purpose.

The population decline isn't good and it won't be fun times for them, but as long as they don't destroy their country by importing millions of third worlders, they can come back from that at any time. The problem comes when you have rock bottom native birth rates and have imported a group that hates the natives and reproduces at 5x the rate.

You'd think shit like this would at least give them some pause, right? It should go without saying that such things are designed to hand more power to women. An age of consent of 20 isn't going to prevent women younger than that from engaging in sexual activity if they want to. But what it is going to do is give them unwavering power over the men they have relations with. These things gain support under the guise of protecting girls but really are designed as a power grab. It's no wonder the more feminist a country is the higher the AoC is in general.

I don't know why you are under the assumption that boys aren't targets for pedos. Also, the age of consent is 18 in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. It's 15 in Iceland and 16 in Spain. I don't see where you are getting that pattern.

Actually, AOC laws don't hurt pedophiles at all because pedophiles are going to break the law regardless of AOC laws. AOC laws actually hurt the non-pedophiles that engage in what should be considered healthy relationships with young people.
For example: Imagine AOC is 14yo. A pedophile finds a situation in which they can rape a 9yo girl, so they take it. AOC is raised to 20yo. A pedophile finds a situation they can rape a 9yo girl, so they take it. The AOC law changed nothing for the pedo.
On the other hand imagine AOC is 20yo, a 19yo post-secondary student sees a TA in his office hours. The TA is 25yo. The 19yo flirts with the TA and engage in "consensual" sex (of course, since AOC is 20 and the student is 19yo, the student can't consent so it was actually rape). Everything seems fine but the TA decides to stop seeing the student because the TA didn't like the student's personality in the end very much. The student is upset the TA doesn't want to keep seeing the student so the student claims they were raped. Now the TA's life is over.
As you can see, AOC laws hurt the TA who engaged in a healthy relationship with the 19yo student and the TA is far from a pedo. They should continue on as a productive member of society but now we've ruined the TA's life over nothing. Meanwhile, the actual pedo doesn't care what the AOC law is, the pedo is still going to rape little kids.
Literally nothing in your example has anything to do with AoC. Women over the AoC can also claim rape and destroy your life. College girls are already famous for doing that and nearly every one of them is over the AoC.
Considering rape is already pretty high on the "life ruined" scale, turning it into statutory won't suddenly turn it from slap on the wrist into legitimate problems.
