The guy who yesterday posted the video of the Little Mermaid unblacked was just swiftly banned from twitter, but the one who made the AI to do it - now that's something I didn't see yet on this platform (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

I'm looking forwards to 'modding' films with technology like this, pull out all the woke bullshit and essentially release a better product then the studios.

They will go batshit over it and drive the 'fixed' versions to the high seas but I'm down with people taking control away from these weirdos.

Best we can do is a sweaty autist with a lisp barking out the corrected lines into a clipping headset

Audio deepfakes are a thing. Have you heard the Jordan Peterson simulator?

I think Disney emulated James Earl Jones's voice for Kenobi.

I think they did something similar with Trump and Putin as well, just not as accessible as with Peterson. Real shame, too. I would have loved to hear the nazi seal copypasta in Trumps voice.

I meant Navi seal, lmao, I am keeping this.

Fan subs are still popular but have learned not to be public.

The released in china version is the official edit with the faggots removed. Probably a good starting point.

And of course I don't need to check how many people are cheering for the innocent Fortune 500 company in it's IP crusade against the evil pirates. People these days need to be reminded.

Hopefully these people will learn to go on the Fediverse and stop adding actual value to Twitter.

Twitter is not a space for serious discussion. Twitter is the best vector for propaganda currently. Even if ourguys get banned, simply getting the woke to freak out about it is a victory. It creates a dialectic on our terms.

Alternatively, if all of the good content is on other platforms twitter will be boring and people will leave on their own.

Hilarious that they banned him. I do wonder if he is going to actually do it. I find it hard to believe that it is that easy to do.

He can do it. If he can do a few seconds he can do a couple hours. Stable Diffusion is open source and runs on a desktop. He's got the code and trained the model. No one can stop him.

Source that he used stable diffusion?

I do use SD for fun, but no way I can reproduce results like he did

edit: my request for "source" could be changed to "tutorial" ;) Show us how to do this with sd

I forget where I saw him talk about it - sorry the past few days have been a blur. IIRC he had a homegrown tool using stable diffusion as an engine to do it. I'll see if I can find the source.

It's not easy, but it's a well-understood process and straightforward. The more experienced he is with the tools the easier it will be.

He can post it as a torrent as long as he makes sure to be anonymous. This days is not hard to hide your online identity if you want to.

Best case scenario, his version becomes the one with the most seeds and people download it without realizing it is not the official release.

as long as he makes sure to be anonymous.

Announcing that you were the one who did it on a platform that demands a phone number is not being anonymous.

The only way forward would be to release the tools used to do it and instructions, and wait for someone else to do it (or give him plausible deniability when doing it himself).

You can be relatively anon on Twitter with a burner. Twitter won't know who you are. Someone might be able to track you.

Last time I tried, though, Google voice and such were blocked. You have to actually go buy a burner. I did so with cash at a big box store.

Nah, I've made new accounts with google voice in the past year. You just need to be sure you've wiped all your cached data/cookies and probably should be running a VPN when you make and use the account so they can't tie it back to your previously banned one at all

– when_we_win_remember 2 points 3 years ago +2 / -0

Oh Ok. I didn't do any cache clearing or anything, but I used a different phone number, and I wasn't like auto-banned or anything. Back when I used to create an account without a phone number, those would get banned pretty regularly.

Like RiffTrax for video but as a content patch.

Very similar to

Game Genie

Game Shark

Action Replay

ClearPlay

and Rom Hacking.

So unblacking a character is a bannable offence.

But blacking one is praised?

So you can be pre-emptively banned for things you haven't done yet?

AFAIK, that account hadn't done anything, it was merely mentioned in another one.

Twitter actually doesn't have a policy called "media policy".

They have a sensitive media policy which bans adult content (unless flagged sensitive), violent sexual content, gratuitous gore, and hateful imagery. This policy does not apply unless pictures of white girls with fish tails are "hateful imagery".

They also have a synthetic and manipulated media policy which bans "synthetic, manipulated, or out-of-context media that may deceive or confuse people and lead to harm." This policy also does not apply unless Twitter is worried that people might harmfully suffer confusion about whether white girls with fish tails are real.

My impression was they're trying to say he violated copyright law. I'm not trying to give any credit to Twitter jannies here; that's just my guess.
