In this world, lost limbs can be regrown, the dead can be resurrected (if you have a diamond and a high level cleric) and the spirits of the ancients can be channelled and interrogated. But a severed spinal cord is totally not healable yet.

Evidently the victimhood is so powerful that they even refuse healing.

I had a deaf character in one game. I made sure the DM knew that nothing short of a regeneration spell would heal the damage she had taken to [her] eardrums that caused her to be deaf (backstory). Even though the party tried (against her wishes twice) to restore her hearing I said “no effect” to the spells and thankfully the DM backed me up. She was still deaf, and she got pissed at them for doing something to ‘help’ her that she hadn’t asked for or even wanted.

TBF, it's SOME deaf people who are like that. A friend of mine lost his hearing due to an infection when he was a young kid. He got one of those cochlear implants as soon as he was able, and has never had one second of regret. Batshit insane "community."

Similar arguments are made about people with Downs. That is, selective abortion is genociding Downs people. Today in Europe almost all Downs pregnancies are aborted. In the US it's like 2/3 of all Downs pregnancies aborted.

Probably because society has been designed to exclusively cater to the disabled while discarding the whole.

The tyranny of the intolerant minority. They keep pushing until the majority either rises up or gets wiped out.

Basically describes the cycle of communism (via coalition of the fringes) into fascism (the reactionary correction by the majority).

At that point, I'd find another table.

The DM and the player both sound like massive tools.

"Oh, I'm going to larp as a deaf person because that's so quirky and representative teehee"

"Hey Lashondaqwenta, the party pooled together to spring you a regeneration to fix your hearing!"

"Fuck you and your ableist bullshit, DM back me up!"

"Yup yup, no effect"

Yeah, no. The only time I've ever ruled on stuff like that as a DM is when someone finds a clever application of some real-world thing (like a wizard doing funny physics, or an alchemist doing funny chemistry), or when someone has found a way to blow a hole in my plot because I forgot to account for the munchkins in the group, and even then I'd let the players choose between me fudging the results a bit and just saying "fuck it, you've killed the evil dragon rapeandmurdernax using a clever application of space lube and a ballista bolt, here's his horde, help yourselves, it's improv night after this."

All other times, it's rules as written.

Two words: Metis Garou.

Fucked up, because cursed. Uncurable. And despised. They want to play a special snowflake, there they go. But their character will have to work very hard to be trusted by even its own pack.

Yeah, all my stuff is 30 years old, mostly second ed. But I did see where they were going when they started 3rd ed, and fagged up the Children of Gaia. They're not hippies.

As for the Gypsy crap, they could have just said that "Gypsies are fictional supernatural beings, with whom the Rom (or w/e) get confused (just like with everything else in the WoD.)

I read one page of the post-apocalypse newWoD book (Forsaken?) and puke-noped right the hell out. Meanwhile, the second edition main book grabbed me right by the tits, an instant buy.

I've got Wraith: The Oblivion splats from that era. Demon Core book, too.

As opposed to core nWoD, the vampire & antagonist books and nothing else.

Easily 4 or 5 times more of the older books.

Similarly, I have loads of 1st & 2nd edition Exalted, but only the 3rd ed corebook.

They've gone down hill on the road from black dog to onyx path...

Just create a situation where the militantly deaf character gets everyone killed.

A mermaid-ish creature lures the party, and the Person of Deafness resists.

Little did the Deafag know, the lure was to save them, and those that were charmed avoid a brutal death by a soul-devouring creature, making resurection impossible for the SJW character

I would rollplay that my character doesn't trust her to be able to run perception checks to keep my character alive and backstabbed her at some point in a "It's either you or me" situation. And then likely found a new group lol

Imagine this argument around an actual DND game.

Player SJW: "Guys, I can't go into the dungeon, my character has a wheelchair."

Player 1: "Okay, I'll use Greater Healing."

Player SJW: "NO."

Player 1: "No? What do you mean no?"

Player SJW: "No. I need a wheelchair accessible dungeon."

Player 1: "It's fine, I can just give you the spell."

Player SJW: "No!"

Player 1: "... How about the healing potion."

Player SJW: "No!"

Player 1: "How about if I cast Levitate and move you there?"

Player SJW: "No!"

Player 1: "How about I enchant your armor so you can use it to fly?"

Player SJW: "NO"

Player 1: "What if I give you an animal familiar to ride on?"

Player SJW: "NO"

Player 1: "Okay, maybe I can use this other spell to increase your crawl speed?"

Player SJW: "THAT'S DISGRACEFUL"

Player 1: "How about if I teleport you?"

Player SJW: "HOW ABOUT YOU STOP BEING ABLEIST?"

Player 1: "... I draw my sword"

DM: "Roll for initiative"

The even more annoying thing is, it can be fun to play a character that has some sort of disability or crippling aliment. And you can come up with any reason you want as long as its consistent with the in-universe logic. For instance, in the games I run, all followers of Illmater willing refuse to treat major injury and disability to themselves on the grounds that it goes against their gods teachings. And then there is the more obvious situations like the common trope of "warrior who is blind in sight but can still see all through other means."

But your average SJW is so ideologically possessed and has so little imagination that they are utterly incapable of coming up with fun and interesting characters. And this is before we get to the fact that they will refuse any sort of challenge.

The responses were amusing.

"Yuck!" "Gross!" "Icky!"

Now if you'll excuse me, I will be going to being insecure that, unlike in videogames, I can't run around with a 2 meter long broadsword smacking dragons in the face.

It is truly problematic that games make so lightly of this Lived Reality of mine.

I hope none of the fucks agreeing with Umbral wear corrective lenses. Real hypocritical to think bad eyesight is a flaw that needs correcting and paralyzation and deafness aren't. Fuckin' dipshits.

Having a defect doesn't make you special, it makes you defective. And this is coming from someone with lifelong shitty vision. Life would suck if glasses didn't exist.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

A "metis"* in this context is the twice-cursed result of a forbidden union. The first curse is sterility, the second is chosen by the player. Neither of these things are fixable.

Because of the nature of its creation, metis are despised by their own kind. Of course, it can be part of a good drama for a metis to have a heroic journey story arc, as long as they don't go Mary Sue over the other players, or, hell, an entire pack of metis thrown together that have to work hard to survive all the suicide missions they get sent on and prove their worth.

But they'd probably just whine about how "unfair" primitive, shamanistic Garou culture is. Owait, they already did, I guess.

But keep in mind that traditionally, Garou mostly just killed any Metis that got born - and the parents who dared to produce it. But in the End Times, they need all the claws and fangs they can get ....

*A bunch of Americans borrowed a Canadian term without knowing how to pronounce it, or really anything beyond "half-breeds are despised". A real-life Metis is a White-Native hybrid (originally French, but any white will do.) In the W:tA context, it's the offspring of two Garou. This is forbidden because their Creator demands that they remain engaged with both sides of their heritage, instead of becoming insular god-kings. It's part of their overall tragedy.
