from Christoper Rufo (emphasis mine):

I spent three years working on a documentary for PBS [about Memphis's housing projects] looking at the nexus of poverty, drugs, crime, and violence [...] making this film is what changed my politics from liberal to conservative. I found it impossible to maintain faith in Great Society liberalism after seeing what it looks like in practice. Good intentions that create perverse incentives. Just devastating.

I have not watched the movie yet, but I plan to.

well there's a couple of schizos who sit in these threads and silently upvote "jews bad" posts while downvoting "maybe jews sometimes not that bad" posts, but they don't often participate in discussions.

City officials for the town of Kenly voted 3-2 to oust Justine Jones Tuesday night, during an emergency meeting that followed a monthlong investigation

3-2

even that wasn't enough to get a unanimous vote

I am. It's trivial for Amazon to fake upvotes/hide downvotes/change the scoring algorithm. This way of doing things isn't as safe.

> I mean if you are an adult then do whatever

don't use this argument unless you want the conversation to morph into "okay definitely not at preschool but isn't 12 old enough?"

oh I fucking wish. people watch this. people watch Obi-Wan Kenobi. people still watch marvel. most people have very low standards. now that TVs with curated content (aka "streaming services") are the standard way of consuming content they're just going to watch whatever you put in front of them.

as has already been said in this thread, customers opted into this program for a rebate. they are the ones facing the consequences of their actions. as they should.

The wireless I have is for my phone and tablets. PERIOD.

ten years later... "the wireless connection I have is for my car, robotic kitchen workers and apartment door. PERIOD."

nah, I'm kidding and I agree. but you (and me) are going to get forced into these "modern technologies" very soon.

great decision, but remember that the public school that's using your money to teach this to your kids is also using your money to settle lawsuits. unless I'm misunderstanding things.

wokeness has created some truly wild terminology

it's so stupid. the book made such a point about Valyria being ethnically homogeneous. especially Targaryens, who routinely engage in incest to keep the bloodline. even the characters in the story understood that to be the reason Targaryens have such a high frequency of madness in the family. but yeah, apparently they had black ones too.

assume we had some sort of objective "malice test" where you could rank how malicious people are. then the average tranny would score way higher than the average sperg.

this is pretty crude reasoning, but in general this can often be a good test to decide which side you should be rooting for.

notice how the article is signed by "The Tribune Editorial Board". in other words the cowards who wrote that refuse to identify themselves by name.

MSM has been doing this for decades, when they publish an opinion piece they know is still a little too spicy for the current social climate. it is a good way to spot a activism passed off as an opinion piece. it's especially useful when you're reading archives of old publications.

just another thing to notice and move on.

> This is a joke right?

no

> They think by preloading biases they are “combating misinformation”?

also no. it's just how they excuse their desire to censor and/or re-educate the public.

that's good, just remember that, until a person like this proves otherwise, expect them to punch right as soon as they get the chance.

and when I say punch right I mean go completely batshit with righteous fury.

I know this show holds a special spot in many people's hearts, but:

reminder that the script had Katara lecturing Sokka with literal feminist talking points right at the beginning of Season 1

and that for most of the show, Katara was a naturally-skilled strong womyn while her male brother was a comic-relief buffoon

I mean, could be worse. If this were San Francisco they'd be handing out empty cans to the homeless.
