There is absolutely zero excuse for them to not host an apk on their website and zero excuse for anyone on our side to not learn how to install one

If we can't even put in the basic effort to operate outside the enemy's zone of control then we deserve to lose

Agreed. I know most people are technologically retarded, but our enemies capitalize on this fact. That's how they keep us in these walled gardens.

It reminds me how, in Fahrenheit 451, most people stopped reading books long before they were burned.

Android is set up so that if you attempt to install an APK, it brings up a warning about how it might be DANGEROUS and HARMFUL and you should only trust apps from the app store. It's a way to scare normies away from installing anything not personally vetted by Google, and it absolutely works.

The fact that Google uses scare tactics to prevent you from using anything but their service to install apps absolutely violates monopoly laws, but their behavior is useful to the establishment so nothing will ever come of it.

Thankfully, you can use the explanation of "millions of people saw this warning when they installed Pokemon GO before it was region-unlocked back when it first came out. It's just Google covering their ass. I used an APK to get Pokemon GO back then, didn't you?" to get people to bypass that mental block.

Ah, Truth is apparently getting too successful, so the tech tyrants are doing a Parler.

Sam Harris said that wanting to enforce no censorship online means being willing to jail company executives and blue-haired censors if they continue to do so. As if it was self-evidence that this is what we don't want.

I guess we don't. In fact, I'd like to see them executed (after a fair trial).

Elections are coming, that's why they're pulling a Parler.

Truth has censorship though. I do agree that hosting platforms should not be allowed to control this.

Their "app" is pretty much just a html render widget that serves their site anyways. Just put a bookmark on your homescreen and "bam" you have the app.

That's most "apps" for online services: a wrapped Chromium browser.

Deliberately timed right before the midterms.

Fuck apps and fuck the app stores. Make a good mobile web experience. I don’t want to install an app for every website I use anyway.

For push notifications, I believe android already supports browser-based push notifications, but for iOS, provide integration with messaging apps like telegram, signal, etc

Can we stop making every single website into a fucking app? It's bad enough that web developers prioritize mobile version of their site, but then they harass you into download a bloated program that only exists so they can further dig into your system.

"hate speech" means anything that doesn't enthusiastically support the marxist agenda, of course

Didn't they outsource to the same moderation contractors that other Big Tech platforms use for literally this reason? I remember everyone complaining about it.

I love Viva and Barnes but my biggest gripe is definitely their insistence on moderation more zealous than I would like. Still a huge improvement over YouTube so of course I will root for it to thrive. But hard to see it as the long term solution.

Google Play ToS has hate speech provisions, and every service with an app on their app store must bend the knee to Google's interpretation of what "hate speech" is, or get yeeted.

How does this website have an app?
