Anyone who views this series differently from how I view it is a troll.
I’m avoiding it even through piracy but you would expect many reviews to be bad just like that one. They actively said they didn’t care to keep things within the canon or care about the source material.
Imagine making a series about Tupac and it was just vaguely black people with lots of Asians put in there and had little to do with him. There’d be cultural outrage and it would probably be banned. LotR is a million times more influential than that so you’d expect people to dislike an attempt to use it as a skin suit for a shitty series.
Is anyone surprised?

I am. It's trivial for Amazon to fake upvotes/hide downvotes/change the scoring algorithm. This way of doing things isn't as safe.

They'd probably get more views strapping cameras on to delivery drones and making it into reality tv.
I would watch that. Especially if there were traps and enemies to fight off.

Not Review Bombing: a shitty product getting the reviews it deserves.

Amazon is shitty. They delete, and censor reviews all the time. The ratings are total bullshit. When I used to be on Amazon, they'd delete my negative but honest reviews. Fuck 'em. Bezos is a cocksucker.
Terrible PR for no reason, people will see the first 2 episodes and drop it anyway.
It's a nice weasel word for lawsuits.
