Fortunately, EVERYONE ELSE is just as screwed, we have MAI (mutually assured incompetence)

I mean. Russian military falls apart from greed. While US military falls apart from DEI.

I don't know if it's 'greed' per say, they suffer the same issue as China in that people are scared to admit there's issues because their head might end up on the block so corruptly hide it, pretending everythings fine till shit hits the fan and turns out that monstrous beast is a paper tiger.

The US is different in that you had the resources to go 'there's a issue? Here's another billion to solve it, make my death machine.' which worked....until DEI got involved and now no amount of money can balance against ingrained incompetence.

That went off on a tangent

what intelligent White males are still stuck maintaining all their crap have got to be hopped up on some wild shit to still think the military is a good career in modern day america - chemical, ideological, whatever.

once they start dwindling and it turns out all the skibidi rizz'd up wiggers don't know what the fuck a wrench is the US army can forget how anything works in a matter of decades, maybe years.

this world is more fragile than we think. and if the world is sick and twisted, it's good that it is fragile.

Of course we're screwed. This is an open admission that both our naval and air power are in sharp decline, to say nothing of our military might more generally just falling off a cliff due to incompetence brought on by diversity.

Who do you think "We" means in this context? The US Military from above decided to de-prioritize red blooded European-American Men and wanted a spic force and nigger navy. Well, the nigs and the japs and the wops and the towel heads and dot foreheads didn't show up, they bred a class of servant golems that won't lift a finger to protect their trades, a global parasite force with zero loyalty once the foodstamps are in the mail slot. The next great war will be fought against more drones and AI MG Dogs than human soldiers. Making the technology fail is the Achilles heel of their future army.

wops

I was forced to look this up because I had never heard of this racial epithet before, and by god, lmao, having that in your word salad's third sentence invalidates the second. You sure you didn't forget to include "frogs" in that list as well? Did you time-travel from the Great Depression to Current Year?

So there's 17 ships that are just stuck at port because they can't recruit enough thanks to leftist advertising and leadership.

The main reason is declining White population and the vilification of the shrinking pool of young White males. This is bad for army recruitment.

Few people would die for Soul-less Economic Zone A-2.

Eventually the sea will reclaim the ships via rust and barnacles.

Fun fact, three of the ships from the disastrous Gaza pier mission are broken down and the Navy is asking for contractors to tow them home.

I have a friend who is an indepedent contractor for the navy. He hasnt been relieved from his ship for 2 years. Barely gets 10 days a year off. They cant find enough people to relieve lol. But its a chill ass job. He just plays video games 80% of the time.

I seem to recall reading an article sometime earlier this year that the USN was having trouble fully staffing its aircraft carriers as well. They can find the minimum required crew but that's like a half of the crew these ships usually have.

US armed forces overall are having a recruitment issue, period.

Turns out that the majority of armed forces recruits were family generational, and they began actively discouraging those individuals from joining, expecting for women and diversity hires to take up the slack.

Whoops. Whoopsie!

With the left trying to disenfranchise Rural America because "corn doesn't vote," you'd think the bugmen living in their hive cities would pick up the slack.

That is not entirely true. There is one branch that is still consistently meeting its recruitment numbers, that being the Marine Corps.

...who are the only ones still doing traditional advertising ("The Few, The Proud", "You are too much of a bitch to be a Marine, go join the Army or something", etc). I am sure this has nothing to do with it though.

a dozen Spearhead-class

This is not the crisis people think it is.

two expeditionary sea bases

I still don't understand why they felt the need to build six of these in the first place (eight if you count Montford and Glen).

Gotta spend the budget, plus having redundancies for your redundancies makes sense.

Too bad it's mostly about kickbacks and pork

Yeah, I'm not entirely familiar but I don't think overpriced high-speed catamarans seem that important to the function of the Navy as of right now. Maybe convenience?

I still don't understand why they felt the need to build six of these in the first place

Because then they can make it look like a crisis for more money when the time comes to go crying to Congress.

Like how the Navy has been complaining for a few years now that they "cant build enough ships" and desperately need new drydocks built. And then you look at their proposal of what would be "enough" and it is shipbuilding on par with the height of WW2. Even though we are building ships at the same rate we have since the 1980's, but with ships that are far more capable than they were back then.

Come back and tell me it is a crisis when we are sidelining carriers and attack subs (the two ships in the Navy that actually make us a dominant force).

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Piroko 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Mmmmhmmm.

If they were serious about needing more capacity, they'd push to expand the Welland and St Lawrence. But the coastal builders lobby against it because they don't want the lake builders to be able to compete for larger ships. Canada has indicated they're willing to do it if the money is right.

The carrier requires a whole group, tactically.

▲ 1 ▼
– TheModernDaVinci 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

Yes, but they are considered one unit because of that from a tactical point of view. So if they cant fill out the whole CVBG, it doesnt sail.

Like the OP said: sidelining a few high speed transports isnt the end of the world for the Navy.

Don't worry, we'll use AI to man the ships. And by "AI", we mean illegals.

If you recall a few years back the Navy had a series of incidents in a very short span of time including a destroyer running into a commercial cargo ship and another running aground.

I read an article that basically said the crew works almost non-stop when they're at sea, resulting in everyone being perpetually exhausted. There were some procedural and technical details that also contributed to the accidents, but my big takeaway was that the ships have always been undermanned, and the Navy's answer has been to expect the crew to just work harder.

Seeing as they were on the razor's edge a few years ago, any disruption in bringing in fresh recruits to fill empty billets is going to result in mission failure.

I think this was the article I read, sorry about the annoying Propublica layout: https://features.propublica.org/navy-accidents/uss-fitzgerald-destroyer-crash-crystal/

Rather than admit they were wrong with their DEI "no straight hwyte men need apply" recruiting drive I'm guessing they're going to go full speed on drone ships.

Unfortunately they're probably going to outsource most of the AI software development so... interesting times ahead.

Or go the Roman civilizational collapse route, and hire mercenaries (non-whites) to fill the roles. Granted, though, they're already trying to do that, and the recruitment isn't meeting demand. I doubt they'll even be able to offer free citizenship to non-whites to fill the roles, as all the immigrants are getting free gibs regardless of status.

Maybe The Matrix was correct in saying the 1990's was the peak of human civilization. No matter how advanced automatic computing and global manufacturing can get, these people have zero ability to innovate and maintain the systems in place, as shit gets globally worse the bridges start to erode from no repairs no proper replacement and failure to teach non-Europeans how to navigate the waters.

Maybe now that the ol' JoePedo has sunk the economy there'll be more jobless kids looking for easy gubbmint gibs.

I thought "manpower" was one of those no-no words we're not allowed to say? I guess inclusivity no longer matters to them when it's time to hint at men needing to man up.
