granted i did ran the game with the benchmark tool and even with my new rig the game can't run more than 60 something FPS with a 7900XTX and 7800X3D
its even worse if you disable Frame-generation which does make the textures appear more washed out
not very optimized but i'd take shitty optimization over niggers and fags any day of the week
2060 RTX, I got 50 fps on high settings, 85 with frame generation (which made the benchmark actually look like 30 fps). Maybe it's not perfect, but it's not THAT bad with optimization.

Nah, I think I defaulted to 66%, and lowered it to 50% for my final judgment. No motion blur, no frame generation, looked fine to me, but I'm no perfectionist; really stingy when it comes to what I'm willing to spend on something.
with a 2060RTX i'd probably upgrade at this point
unless you have an Intel board so you're pretty much fucked and have to buy a new motherboard (i.e a new computer)
though graphics aside, the gameplay looks solid which is what sold me to begin with (that and No Nigs, Fags or ugly dykes--which is why some journo rags are bashing the game because of the "poor performance")
though honestly if you're getting lower performance just lower the setting, it is really a non-issue at this point.

Equally entertaining are the reviews for Dustborn, which releases the same day. The game is complete shit but it's essentially "DEI: The Game" with a strong "fuck conservatives" slant. The action in the game is literally fighting with words as you yell at people. The villains are white people following a bad president. Not kidding.
It's complete shit but they're trying to rate it as high as possible because DEI. The struggle is that it's so bad they can't justify any scores higher than around a 7. Reviews will say things like "succeeds as an artistic project" and "tells a compelling story" while also dropping subtle hints like "fails as a video game" and "deserves compassion".

True, in this case it looks like flash was the big focus, which usually means at the expense of depth.
the biggest problem these days is story often comes at the expense of gameplay, when gameplay is the most important element of a game.
i'll give two game franchises that are completely opposite in this regard; legacy of kain and katamari damacy. They're older games, but they illustrate the point well. kain is a truly facinating story, but the gameplay, while not awful, fails to hold attention in all but the later entries in the series.
katamari damacy ont he other hand, has this absolutely batshit insane story that feels like it was inspired by the same mind-altering substances that inspired the graphics, but the gameplay loop is simple, inuitive, and enjoyable(with a few notable exceptions in specialized levels), encouraging the player to grind for hours to achieve higher and higher scores.
Well in this case its both a souls game (which rarely have a story upfront enough to consider) and fucking Journey to the West for the trillionth time (meaning it can't do anything new or unique).
But based on the extreme focus both the marketing and the reviews are giving to the "presentation" it almost certainly is bogged down by cutscenes and other story elements that slow the gameplay loop down, which is a thing many soulslikes fail to compensate for.
