You can tell how bad it is when we see one black person in a bit of media and go 'woke as fuck' immediately.
This isn't an attack on this forum, I'm saying how much DEI and other such pushes have made the causal audience VERY jaded to race in media.
Hell, it's even been talked about by the critics. 15, 20 years ago, black main characters in things (where appropriate) would've been normal, unremarkable. Now because of the damn cult, the very sight of one is an instant red flag. How do you make that go away, even after the hypothetical purge of wokism?
It also doesn't help that when you cast decent black actors they misuse them in terrible writing.
Biggest example was Force Awakens, EVERYONE was looking forward to Boyega being a Stormtrooper turned into a Jedi story only for him to be badly cut down in that film for Ray to 'shine' then be a walking one for the next two films.
Let's be honest here, NO ONE was looking forward to John Boyega before the movie. The thing is, then the movie came out, and we saw the potential of Finn as a character. And at the same time, watched them squander it, having him slaughter his former mates, the people he was fucking RAISED alongside, while screaming "DIDJU SEE THAT?!? DIDJU SEE THAT?!?"
"Traitor!!!" was the best part of that film, and I never bothered with the rest.
And this happened a DAY at most after he completely froze up in his first battle where one of his brothers-in-arms died in his arms. It was a shock to him that he fled the battlefield and practically deserted. Seriously, what the fuck? This is not how a regular human being acts. That's how a remorseless psychopath acts.
Hell, you want a story? Actually make the leap to make Finn an unaware Force-sensitive, and give him a minor version of The Exile's power, deeply bonding with those around him entirely by instinct. Eventually after breaking the conditioning, he deserts, rescuing Poe, and is deemed a traitor. As he tries to survive going forward, he's forced to kill a lot of First Order troopers, and causing so many of their deaths will feel like he's stabbed himself in the heart.
Fair enough, it's just the wasted potential thanks to contrived circumstances due to writing that turns me off more than diversity but the two come as a bundle set.
Like how they raise Boba in the mandalorian to knock him down in his own series or the recent Suicide Squad game. The only way they can make their characters 'look good' is to knock down the previous generation because they lack the talent to show it any other way.
I would think now that you would see less masculine black men or if he is masculine then it will be revealed that he is gay. I’ve seen that trope with white make characters.
For what it's worth, even many of these masculine black men are emaculated to make the women look better. Finn is frequently shown up by Kelly Trans for example, and is ultimately overshadowed by MaRey Sue. And Nick Fury is made to repeatedly made to look like a doofus when compared to Captain Marvel, culminating with the reveal that he lost his eye to a fucking cat.
Speaking of Nick Fury, why the hell didn't Marvel ever give him his own movie? He was around since nearly the beginning of the MCU, he was setting things up long before Tony Stark got locked up in a cave. There were plenty of things they could have done with him during freaking Phase 1 that would have made for an entertaining two hours, and Samuel L. Jackson has always had crowd-pleasing star power on his side. No, they instead always relegate him to a sidekick role and make a big spectacle out of Black Panther being the very first black superhero evar!
Black Panther was the most annoying marketing since they made it seem like no black people had ever been in a movie before. Blade was quite popular when it came out. A Phase 1 Nick Fury movie could’ve worked and include a crossover with the Original Nick Fury from the original marvel comics. The Sameul Jackson version is from Ultimate comics if i remember correctly
Samuel L Jackson version is because Marvel used his likeness for the Ultimate 1610 universe without asking, so in order to not get bent over a barrel and sued Samuel L Jackson instead got to bend them over a barrel and get to be the face of the character in the MCU.
Fury ends up getting a TV series called 'Secret Invasion' that ran for 6 episodes and did little other than kill off more well known characters while also being completely shit.

My thoughts exactly 15 to 20 years ago a cast of different races wouldn’t have even registered to me but now it’s a definite sign. One major example would be the Obi Wan show. Yea thats part of the reason I don’t watch much that came out after 2014. Im mostly black with some white ancestry and honestly dont mind interracial dating but the overrepresentation is off the charts and annoying. I used to not mind a gay character here and there. Not anymore. When I see a new show unfortunately I’ve reached the point where I assume a black character will be lecturing about race and female characters about feminism

I occasionally sneak a peek of these trailers of games that obviously look woke and drop down to the comments, and due to YouTube's censoring, the way around that is people will simply say things like, "Sweet Baby Inc. Detected" and proceed to use euphemisms for 4chan-tier noticing.

It’s an offshoot of the Anthropic Principle. Virtually all mainstream entertainment media now originates from a woke production pipeline, and this system simply precludes the existence of based black or female characters.
Until the system is dismantled and replaced, or wrestled away from leftist control, black and female characters will continue to function as reliable indicators of bad writing and bad games. It’s a very straight forward chain of logic that legitimizes discrimination against black and female characters because only one type of black/female character is permitted to exist in modern media.
Essentially, your only choices as a consumer right now are either 1) buy and consume leftist trash or 2) be “racist” and “sexist”. There is currently no third choice where you get to have good games with diverse characters.

TV happened. Audiences "need" to have emotional connection to characters. Showing faces supposedly helps with that.
Whenever this gets brought up, I always refer back to Dredd (2012) with Karl Urban. He never showed his face, except for the constant scowl on the lower half, and he was still able to convey tons of emotion and subtlety. There's also lots of examples of robots and non human characters in scifi media that are able to convey quite a lot, and many of them don't even have faces.
The only thing that makes sense is that the actors are narcissists that demand their face be shown.
