It is possible to avoid it. You'll know when a character is flirting with you and you just tell them no. And they really done come on that strong anyway.
Shoved in your face. A gay wizard says "let me show you a magic trick" and if you agree he fucks you. I've seen plenty of people that accidentally banged this guy thinking he was legitimately going to teach the player something.
Your RPG adventure will be filled with odd come ons and every character constantly talking about fucking and wanting to fuck. I've seen a bunch of screenshots it's really weird.
ALL of the characters are constantly flirting with the intention of banging, even in scenarios where it makes no sense.
A game is truly pozzed when you have to work hard to avoid getting banged by a character. That shouldn't even be a concept in the game unless it's some kind of adult porn game, but the fact it's in a supposed mainstream CRPG is disturbing to say the least.
Dumbass leftist who spent years demanding more representation for all sexualities and fetishes in media, and who throws up rainbow flags in support of public displays of sexual degeneracy all throughout the month of June finds himself bothered by all the rampant sex happening in Baldur's Gate 3.
I much preferred the approach of the Dragon Age games, which canonised certain characters as being straight, gay, bi/pan, completely uninterested, or even having specific preferences for certain species.
Fun fact, genius: Dragon Age 2 is the game that invented and codified all characters being playersexual.
Thats just the truth aint it with this wackos they dont care about equal representation, they want everyone a fag and no straights allowed. Mask off moment this article is.
It's not like with race where they can immediately pivot to nazism and white supremacy
Eh, I wouldn't put it past them. Somehow they can always find a way to link any complaint to "muh antisemitism." People want just one completely straight character in something? -> "Hate Campaign Against <X> Reminds Us How Heteronormative Orthodoxy is Rooted in Antisemitism".
Honestly, I think playersexual is often the right call (and I find the term funny), as long as it's done well. I don't think every character should be (as that takes away from uniqueness big time), but I think it's a nice option, as long characters keep their mouths shut until the player initiates something. Sadly, playersexual often ends up just being 'gay' because these woke companies want to shove all that gayness onto us.
It's annoying they're so intent on not letting us have nice things.
The problem is that the left does not understand camaraderie, even straight leftist men can't comprehend it. So any relationship that normally creates among guys during tough times for them is just being gay.
Yeah, that's why in many of these games the companions that swing either way will always be much more notable as gay.
Because you can accidentally just be nice or supportive and the writers consider that flirtatious and initiate the gay route. Whereas the noncompatiable orientation ones give you much more bro shit and alternatives.
Even worse, this only applies to the cocks. The lesbo party members are usually the hardest to seduce because the opposite is in play, where you only have like 5 specific lines you can ever say to clue her in that you want to clamslam and everything else is just friendzoning.
Default (Where characters have predetermined sexualities, mostly straight)
All Straight
All Romanable/Playersexual
Custom (Choose each character individually)
You know leftist locusts would freak out about something like that, even though it just lets everyone play as they want. Because they're authoritarians.
That would solved the "un-uniqueness" that the article is clamoring about but i honestly doubt thats what they want. They are just pissed off there is still straight options for players.
I don't like this approach and it's never done well. By its very nature, it can't be done well because its entire purpose is not about writing engaging characters. It's about reducing them to different flavors of fuckability to cover as many player tastes as possible. People behave differently around and to other people depending on their sex (and race and background and social class, and the values of the society both of them were brought up in), and playersexuality removes that outright just so that no player feels "excluded" from experiencing their sex fantasy in a video game.
So beastiality wasn't enough neither was no choice other than genitals for character customisation, they need it further censored because too many choices?
And it's working. I won't buy it, but I am curious about playing it, just to see what the fuss(es) are about, if nothing else. I like CRPGs, I liked Divinity. Despite the generally negative stuff said about this game here (and for good reason) I am more curious than I was about BG3. Again, won't buy it, but I am curious. It's not at the top of my list, but I likely will play it at some point.
And, yeah, people on both sides are being kind of cringe. I hate cringe marketing, but I can respect the strategy a little bit. BG3 may have been some of the best cringe marketing we've seen. It really did blow up big, everyone's talking about it, and people are pissed off...but probably the right amount of pissed off where the more normie people will still buy it regardless. I'll give them points for cleverness, if nothing else; very well executed.
People need to recognize the difference between Wizards and Larian. Wizards has been hyper-woke for at least 10 years; their newest versions of DnD conflate species and race by implication when they remove race-specific bonuses, as but one tiny example. Given that Larian is adapting the most recent version of DnD, I'd say so far that they've actually toned DOWN the wokeness quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, the basic outlines are almost always still there, but they're not trumpeted at you constantly. The result is that the game truly feels very open -- you can roleplay however you like, including Super Straight or what have you, and the game more than accomodates it. At least so far... (still early in the story)
And, of course, they all have to be pansexual and attracted to everyone, so that whether you're a dwarf with a giant blue beard or an 8 foot tall dragon lady, they're all ready to go. I can understand an RPG wanting to give the player the maximum possible choice for their romances, but sexuality should be a significant part of a character's personality.
This is what you fuckers wanted
When everyone's just playersexual, there's no real representation at all. I much preferred the approach of the Dragon Age games, which canonised certain characters as being straight, gay, bi/pan, completely uninterested, or even having specific preferences for certain species. Not only does it make the characters feel like they have more agency of their own and allow for more substantive LGBT+ representation, it also creates a far more believable group dynamic than having to turn down the advances of every one of your friends until you get to your favourite one.
Cue the articles complaining about how x character should be totally non-straight
I can appreciate as well that the game disrupts the usual problematic structure of romance in games—of slowly increasing someone's love for you with gifts and correct dialogue choices, before being "rewarded" with a bonk towards the end of the game. Baldur's Gate 3's messier approach is more true to life—but it feels like all subtlety has gone out of the window in pursuit of that.
Nigga it's just a game, it's a fantasy. If you want real romance, unironically go outside and get it.
I honestly agree with the article, is the hypocrisy that I hate. Maybe you should not have every character be incredibly horny all the time.
That and I hate how camaraderie is completely foreign to the devs. Most times guys have a very close relationship without being sexual.
The problem of these kind of "dating sim" systems is that they run the risk of spending resources on dialogue and scenes not a lot of people will watch.
You can't really have a deep friendship and horny mode for every companion. Is just not doable.
That's why most modern games build romance along with the story, which this author condems as "problematic"
There is an easy fix to that, the way DA:O had, you had straight characters. alongside the bisexual ones. So you had your bro dude and something for the sodomites.
I can appreciate as well that the game disrupts the usual problematic structure of romance in games
Yes it's so much better that characters I never talked to and barely take with me keep propositioning me for sex like some thirsty hormonal teenagers.
Instead of the traditional quests where you affect major events in these people's lives.
Romance is meh to shit depending on the character in BG3 and after all their talk about how much better it was than standard games they should be ashamed. Give me Pathfinder's host of canibal females any day of sexual harassment tiefling.
Think Gale might be the only character I don't find completely annoying and shouldn't be romancable (or at least exceptionally hard) considering what he did before the start of the game. Still don't like any of them though.
Honestly, I do agree that the game is hornier than Mass Erect. Don’t like censorship, though. Let them have horny. If you have a problem with human blobs mating, then don’t go for the “We’ll bang, ok?” options. They are clear as day when you see them.
I honestly think the game is too much of a horny simulator, but agree that the censorship is stupid.
But would've liked that some of teh dev time would've been invested in fewer, but more well written stories.
At least in Mass Effect it was optional, you could tell all the romantic options to fuck off, because hey we have a galaxy to save from Cthulhu monsters. And iirc it never effected the gameplay.
Interesting, I never knew that considering I always saved Ashley in ME1 and they didn't make her gay. I don't think they'd even be able to write her character today.
Honestly, I kinda agree with the article. Every ounce of info I have been drip fed about the game has had some relation to sex. Every. Fucking. One. Every time I get even the slightest itch to take the plunge into a good RPG and try it out I am reminded of what I have seen.
My question: Is it really that bad, or have I just been given a very biased spotlight on only a very small portion of the game's "humor?"
To clarify, I absolutly do not endorse censorship. If the game wants to be as gross as it can get then more power to them. I just won't play it. I just find it a bit of a shame it has me so hung up over.
It's really not as over the top as the article claims. You don't have to engage in the sexual stuff if you don't want to. You as the player decide which dialog options to choose, and it's pretty clear when one will lead to sexy time, you you can avoid it if you'd like.
I spend very little time in camp. I go there for long rests and inventory management. If a character has something important to say I'll talk to them, but 99% of time I am exploring the overworld and killing shit.
Also in the article the author complains about how the characters all walk around in sexy underwear in camp. Yes, they do that... I f the player manually inequity their clothes. So the author complains about all the sex, yet went around and stripped all the characters.
Interesting. Thanks for the clarification. I'll just bite the bullet and give it a shot. It really does look like the sort of game that had a ton of work and care put into it.
You can cut say no to every one, however it's piss easy to agree to sex with character (to start the path of you will) as an example you meet a githyanki.....or however you spell it, I replaced her fairly early on and took her on 1 of her quests and she has already propositioned me to engage in sex (no romance just sex was her actual proposal)..... I met this person about 5 days in-game time ago, we have spent about 30 minutes together and she is already open to interspecies sex......from a hard discipline zealot that sees others as weak.
Point being they made it way WAY too easy to start romance/relationship triggers (not the sex scenes themselves) that it seems like every character is a thirsty hormonal teenager, even if you exclude the tiefling.
The males seem a bit more reserved though but that might be caused by the characters gender....identity (barfs)
It's a surprisingly good article and right on the money. Where does he say he wants it censored?
Don't shit on degenerates for their rare glimmers of awakening to healthier instincts. The game is full of horny, cringey sexuality written by and for ugly women or gays, because that is the only kind of sexuality which is allowed to thrive openly under the current progressive paradigm. All the characters are Bioware-sexual so you can't even attempt any same sex friendships without the risk of a stunning brave negro in cornrows wanting to get on his knees and suck your type B body genitalia.
If a journospawn plays this and starts to feel sick, that's good. Shows there's still hope. Even better if they say so. I still don't want it censored, because it's nothing to do with me - I saw this shit for what it is a mile off and will never play it.
Well said. It's why I stopped playing these kind of games. Having to navigate around dialogue options to avoid ending up in a gay romance is ridiculous.
The main problem is that due to its success, BG3 will likely spawn a lot of me-too copycat clones from the larger studios constantly pushing even more faggotry on the playerbase because "players are fine with it" due to BG3's sales.
I for one agree with the article, I've seen a lot of comments on the game, players that do not talk to male characters during camp because they all want to fuck you. No more camaraderie, you can't just have guy friends anymore. And is not even normal discussions, is hey man want to do some spells, ok now lets have sex.
I don't see a call for censorship here, and I wouldn't support such a thing, but the writer is right about the game being 'too horny'. I'm no prude either, but from everything I've read and seen about the game it's just too much. They made a sequel to a beloved series and bragged about how 'horny' it is, and boy is it ever. In quite a 'progressive' way as well, despite being a rare modern game that allows women to be sexy. But the aggressiveness of its sex and fetishes is completely inappropriate for the series and the genre. It is, quite frankly, degenerate.
I still would not support censorship of it. But I do believe it's yet another example of the decline of gaming and our society as a whole.
As an enlightened equity/social justice activist, I agree this game has too much naughty content. Keep that stuff in the public schools where it belongs.
Sounds like Pathfinder: Kingmaker where within hours (in game, minutes in real time) of meeting 2 strangers they tried to get me to join them in their open relationship.
I like to keep sex separate from my video games; crazy I know, but it's so awkward and weird how often these RPG's have cringey degenerate characters trying to fuck you instantly for no reason. It's just not normal; even a journo fag recognizes how out of place it is.
If you want to play a game filled with porn and sex then go ahead, but for Christ's sake these are DnD games. Video games based on hanging out with buddies and slaying a dragon or saving a village or something equally light hearted. It's disgusting as shit that the devs of these games shove sex into it constantly. Imagine if a friend tried to erotic role play on DnD night; that's what these games feel like. Yeah I know it's an inanimate bunch of computer code; but it completely doesn't fit the tone of the genre. I'm guessing only people that don't actually play these games are into all the random sex stuff.
Also it's video game writing; it's dogshit cringe and written by people that mostly can't get laid but spend their time on the internet calling everyone else an incel. IMO normal people can play a game or enjoy a leisure activity without constantly looping back to fucking and sex and nudity. Porn addicted freaks have that mentality and it's very unnerving to me thinking of the fat purple haired perverts that need a porn break in game every few hours. Call me old fashioned but I am put off when a random stranger propositions me for sex. The whole "just ignore the constant strangers inviting you to orgies/gay sex/etc." mentality is so stupid. It simply shouldn't be there.
A gay character is fine, a hot lady with big tatas is fine, characters talking about love/sex/etc. is fine; but unless you've played these games you really aren't understanding how creepy it feels to play.
If you think criticizing this shit is censorship then I have no idea what you're doing on this forum. Free speech is not 'arguing for censorship' it's just calling something out.
Lastly anyone who is on the other side of this argument is on the "gay bear bestiality" side so good luck with that I'm sure you're a moral and upstanding citizen.
I bet if there were mods that made all the characters female and they fuck a bear, itll be banned from nexus. Or.. if someone made the same exact game, but with hot girls being railed by dogs, pigs, trolls, orcs, fat ugly dudes.
Brought to you by the same faggots who believe kids need to be taught about butt sex in first grade.
OK lets give them defined sexualities, and represent everybody proportionately.
Gallup in 2022 found that 5.6% of the population is homosexual, so that means 94.4% of the companions should be straight.
There are 8 companions in the game, and 8*0.994 = 7.552, which rounds up to eight, so the appropriate and equitable number of faggot companions is zero.
Even after 40 years of propaganda it's always ever been 2%.
They can only molest so fast before necking themselves to mental illness or getting jailed for it.
That rate for men seems very stable.
I would argue that the B and T are both also homosexual, with extra steps.
I don't play this game and don't plan to. what is the actual number of non-straight companions?
All of them... the degenerates have decided everyones free game for fuckery
Is it possible to just not engage in any sexual dialogue or is it shoved in my face?
It is possible to avoid it. You'll know when a character is flirting with you and you just tell them no. And they really done come on that strong anyway.
Shoved in your face. A gay wizard says "let me show you a magic trick" and if you agree he fucks you. I've seen plenty of people that accidentally banged this guy thinking he was legitimately going to teach the player something.
Your RPG adventure will be filled with odd come ons and every character constantly talking about fucking and wanting to fuck. I've seen a bunch of screenshots it's really weird.
This.

Fun fact, genius: Dragon Age 2 is the game that invented and codified all characters being playersexual.
Is not enough having options. They have to exclude YOU
Thats just the truth aint it with this wackos they dont care about equal representation, they want everyone a fag and no straights allowed. Mask off moment this article is.
Let me introduce you to Tiktok's "comphet" propaganda: https://www.tiktok.com/discover/what-is-comphet
Honestly, I think playersexual is often the right call (and I find the term funny), as long as it's done well.
This exactly; if you congratulate the wizard Gale on banging a literal goddess then next thing you know he'll be trying to show you his wand.
Maybe let the player make the selection pre-game and preserve some sense of immersion.
Yeah, something like
Default (Where characters have predetermined sexualities, mostly straight)
Except for Bethany. But that's what the mods are for. And no, my actual real-world sister looks nothing like her, so... NOT A PERVO!
Interesting, I never knew that considering I always saved Ashley in ME1 and they didn't make her gay. I don't think they'd even be able to write her character today.
it took me 80 hours to fuck Shadowheart
Not there yet but is she a girl or a guy? Having no boobs and being all mysterious made me very cautious.
She's a girl with all the girly parts
I swear this game has so much sex it could be a Newgrounds game
Honestly, I kinda agree with the article. Every ounce of info I have been drip fed about the game has had some relation to sex. Every. Fucking. One. Every time I get even the slightest itch to take the plunge into a good RPG and try it out I am reminded of what I have seen.

Ctrl-Alt-Delete did a comic about this in March.
March 2011 that is for Dragon Age 2.

Or.. if someone made the same exact game, but with hot girls being railed by dogs, pigs, trolls, orcs, fat ugly dudes.
politically correct "gamer" strikes again
