Bigly if true.
Amy Schumer Cosplaying as Chun-Li if True
That's unfair to the woman in this pic.
I may have gone a bit too far.
Cosplay was one of the primary vectors for the incursion of women into male-dominated geek culture, and that infiltration relied heavily on male nerd thirst.
No one is thirsting for this.
That's another funny thing about the culture wars.
Sexy game characters? Muh male gaze.
Thots cosplaying as said characters? Empowering, muh sex work, etc
I think a lot of it is post facto rationalization for their brazen rent-seeking. If a feminist of their choosing is getting paid, it’s all good. A lot of true believers end up sprouting from the deceptive justification for what is, essentially, a protection racket.
It was a way that women who don't really have any technical interest or skill to get attention even though there is no real chance they'll give any of the men a chance. It was also a vector for trannyism to become more mainstream
Who said she couldn’t cosplay? Or are there people making up imaginary issues so they can feel oppressed. I want to dress up as Green Lantern but I need to get more muscle tone. I mean I could now but I want to look good in the costume
They dont just want acceptance they want you to bow to them.
True
Shouldn't u just wear fake muscles as a superhero? It's not like their shape is generally natural human without steroids.
I could but it would be cooler to be in shape for the costume
That's the mindset difference I love. Attempt to climb the mountain instead of remaining still and declaring wherever you are to be the peak.
I couldn't live with myself if I did that because deep down I'd know it was fake and would feel like a loser. I'd go lift and gain a shit form and use that instead.
I am of the general opinion that when costuming, the more costume you make the better job you are doing. Looking muscular inside a costume is not the same thing as being muscular. At least, not all costumes are going to be skin tight. So you have to put something exaggerated in there so it is seen. All of costume is fooling people, lol. It's fake.
What impresses you is like the tiny girl who puts on stilts and sells being a space marine. It's all about the transformation.

I do not watch things called Shazam, but Shaq is cool.
Everyone can eat 10 Big Mac combos a day, it doesn’t mean they should
Holy shit is that an awful photo. You can see the cars in the background.
Also shitty Dutch angle bullshit that's cringy.
“For you, the day Golden Corral graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.”
Who was telling her she couldn’t cosplay?
She might have misheard the word “shouldn’t,” but that’s different.
I've never been to a convention, but from what I have seen.. weight doesn't stop anyone from cosplaying. Shit, I've seen paraplegic Deadpool.
I've been to plenty conventions, and weight or gender or fucking anything never stopped a person once. Not only has it never stopped, its so uneventful and common literally no one cared unless it was a fat chick desperately trying to shove herself into latex or similar and you could tell it was struggling.
Likely, this entire thing is because they are mad that no one actually cared and thereby they got minimal attention over hotter chicks. And that attention was purely because Conventions exist 75% for freaky nerd hookups, and fat chicks are the most willing.
Stop being a fat whore.
Ok she's got the thighs to the right size but nothing else
1/10
Those are her arms.
LOL this is nothing new to American anime conventions. Before it became mainstream, it was fat, ugly, and nerdy girls cosplaying Sailor Moon (as well as the occasional dude doing it for laughs).
its always the same with all of this. Most people dont care if you are a woman who plays video games or if you are a fat person who cosplays. But these faggots dont just want acceptance they want to shove it in your face and make you worship it.
Its true everyone can cosplay but if you put yourself out there don't be surprised everyone can judge too.
Did anyone ever say some people could not? This is an annoying thing sjws do. Take a claim that some people aren’t allowed to do x and they should be able to. When in reality no one was stopping anyone from participating in x event in the first place.
When women say "allowed to do x," they typically mean "celebrated doing x," because they've never been told "no" with any sort of regularity.
Yeah, I have the same doubts. Whatever else geekdom is or isn’t, it’s never been a subculture that was running low on fat girls. I get so bored of every other Internet wannabe-hero portraying ordinary behavior in their subculture as somehow pissing in the face of all the people “who told me I can’t.” Who told you, and what did they actually say? It’s always very non-specific. But shit, I’m in law school and all the minority women (and white women too) post endless wank about how “they” told me I couldn’t be a lawyer but I showed “them!!!!” I guess as long as you’re not a straight white gender-confident male, there is a lot of online YAS KWEEN clout to be gained by lying about how brave you are for taking a selfie.
This is correct, anyone CAN cosplay. But that doesn't mean you're good at it.
Not gonna lie, saw the black-and-metallic from the thumbnail, with white skin tone, and thought it was going to be a South African Black Panther cosplay at first passing glance.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day: ruined.
But somehow, I feel that the sentiment of this alert and virtue-signal wouldn't be quite as present if that cosplay were the case in question.
Everyone can cosplay. Not everyone can cosplay well, nor should anyone lie to them and say it is a good cosplay. Like yeah, that dress is decent, but it also could just as easily have been store bought considering how popular Chun-Li is as cosplay bait.
