They have mods that can delete families with same sex couples already. It's not a trolling thing because it's just one of the many thing those mods do. Some Simmers like to have fine grained control of their families and worlds and have created mods giving them that control.
When EA added trannies to the game someone on half KIA predicted that someone would use new the new feature to make a video of Aryans running a tranny murder factory to troll the games media. I'm bummed that never happened. I want my Sims tranny murdering factory!

You'll only encounter these options when you're creating your own Sims. Are you naive enough to believe it won't be all fags all the time with the NPCs? That could actually be limiting. Let's say you create a male Sim and send them into town to find a girlfriend or wife. You can't do that anymore because the female Sim you want your Sim to date is a lesbian and that can't be changed under the new system. Under the old system she still would have accepted your male Sim's advances, and with enough successful romantic interactions she would be heterosexual in her autonomous romantic interactions as well.
That said this will most likely be fixable with mods. You would have to run a script to unfuck all the NPCs, either setting them back to the default or straight if you don't want any fag shit in your game. The tools to change the NPCs likely already exist, so it's probably just a matter of creating the script.

This would probably be a pretty simple thing to mod out of the game at least if you know how to mod. For player created Sims it would just be a matter of disabling the new interface since not engaging keeps it the way it was before. Unfucking the NPC situation would probably require running a script to set them back to normal but the tools are likely already there. Sims already have an internal score of how heterosexual or homosexual they are, which determines what sex they romantically interact with autonomously. But they're all bisexual and can be directed to romantically interact with either sex by the player.
