Eh, maybe more so than you think. If he's Pakistani, his family could have been here since the 1960s. The African thing started with Blair in 1997 and ramped up once Call Me Dave took the reins in 2010.

The same reason the Black Hebrew Israelites believe that black people are just better people and yet somehow defeated by the filthy white animals, I suspect...

Did you consider that maybe he had his shop there before the north african city-state came to him?

He probably thinks this is the only way out of this without his shop getting mysteriously burned to the ground one night.

I can't imagine the Met would prosecute anybody under those circumstances other than him, with the way they are.

The key point in question - the Bantam test - was decided in 1963, presumably, before most of the people currently disregarding it were born.

They had a nice, comfy gig going, consistent second place to the DNC and never getting in the way of their agenda, and Trump had to turn up and fucking ruin all of it by actually attempting to act for the vast masses most of the RNC seems to despise just as much - if not as openly - as the DNC does.

Note that "factory-set combinations" do not include their own master codes. They still have that whenever fedbois want to break into your safe.

Note that they already gave that out.

Do we think a firm stupid enough to backdoor their own kit would implement different backdoors or have a one-size-fits-all code across their entire product line?

Coming soon: Climate change increases murder rate!

Because the murder rate is going up, climate change is going up, therefore it MUST be climate change!

Remember the purpose of communist propaganda was not to cover over misdeeds or problems.

The purpose was to humiliate: to brazenly tell lies the populace was forced not only to accept but to promote.

A populace so humiliated will allow a government unlimited power.

Honestly, it's something I've seen Drinker do before as well.

I think the issue is that Az and Drinker both, seeing as this is more-or-less a full-time gig for them now, see this shit all day every day, because it's their job, whereas the rest of us ... don't.

So yeah. this gets to them more than it does me, but I kinda understand why.

I think they've got tired of being called on that, as nobody was ever actually charged with insurrection, as I recall?

"Domestic targets, though, yeah, fuck 'em up. COINTELPRO all the way, baby!"

Perhaps if the federal government did not treat the wider US as a conquered colony it must extract wealth from by force they'd have engendered somewhat more sympathy.

If they weren't going to lock 'em up for that, what makes you think they'll lock 'em up for this?

Bonus points: Because it's "remote learning" we will soon get to see quite what they are actually teaching children now.

Yup, and I take your point on the imagery of the two.

In context, the Galactic Empire is a little like the Soviet Union - vast resources meant it was never really concerned with efficiency. Worst case, they can always throw more people at a particular problem to make it go away.

Compare the US of the same period, all high-tech gizmos and widgets of phenomenal cost to drive the highest performance out of every thing they had.

OK, firstly, Daily Express, you need to have words with your editor:

Letby has a right to appeal her whole-life sentences, but successful bids are rarely successful.

successful bids are rarely successful.

... really?

Second, how is Letby's conviction a miscarriage of justice?

If it's by providing "reliable" scientific evidence ... well, good scientific evidence is both demonstrable and repeatable ... so go on, then. Demonstrate it!

Yeah, but we still have something, the reasoning appears to be, so we must keep paying until there is nothing left of the UK. Only then will the scourge of slavery finally be over!

Just don't look at modern-day Africa, where it's rampant.
