This was my biggest problem with Farscape. Nearly every other episode, the lead dude ended up having a cry. It never felt genuine whatsoever; was completely forced.
There was a time that I still watched the occasional Netflix cringe-fest, just to see how bad it was. Now I have to force myself to watch even vids like this.
They don't have principles, they are culture bandits. If a female character is feminine and nurturing, they'll turn it into a quipping girlboss. But if the character is actually badass and witty, they'll turn it into an emotional wreck.
