The meltdowns are hilarious. The same people whining about the show being cancelled are the same people who attacked the fans that criticized TLJ or the ones who told EU fans like me to get over it when they discontinued expanded universe.
Star Wars generally appeals to males, and the women who enjoy it like it as is. In my experience as a life long sci-fi fan, women just aren’t into it as much as guys and pushing diversity crap really shrinks your audience. I guess it’s trendy on social media to like it but I’ve noticed with a lot of Disney Star Wars fans online that they defend it like crazy and every new Disney product is sooo much better than anything that came before the buyout. Forgive me if I doubt their sincerity
It's not just your experience that shows women aren't into sci-fi. There's an analytics company called Quantic Foundry that collects data on player gaming habits. Women, as a group, have low double digit preference for sci-fi.
No surprise. Now I’d say fantasy is more evenly split but those who actually read sci-fi are overwhelmingly guys
The difference is Anne McCaffrey vs Robert Jordan. Tolkien sits above them all and wonders what they have done with the music he created.
Are you insulting McCaffrey, Jordan, or both here? (Or maybe neither, but I read it as negative for at least one of them).
Just referencing their styles. No insult meant. I will admit McCaffery has a rule of cool for girls thing that confused me every time I read stuff.
Counterpoint: Psychic martian dragons!
Yes, that and other stuff.
I found some Mccaffrey books at a yard sale. Bought them because they get were super cheap. Never read her before
Let us know what you think!
I loved McCaffrey when I was a teenager -- I devoured all of her Dragonriders of Pern stuff. I remember absolutely nothing about it, and suspect that I'd be a bit disappointed these days. You know. Chicks.
I hope you enjoy them.
It's trendy on social media to say you like it
I’m curious that if it’s trendy or “trendy” by bot manipulation. It’s obvious that no Star Wars merchandise has sold in years (since The Last Rabi.) Even for cents at discount stores, they don’t sell.
At this point, is there any meaningful difference online between bots and actual liberals, besides that the latter wastes more taxpayer money?
the bots are on a path of learning and improvement.
That is true. Last Jedi had that distinction as well.
That means it's on it's way to discount and dollar stores. Like when Hannah Montana was over, you couldn't escape it in those places.
Would anyone even buy them on discount? I was able to get some Black Series figures for cheap back in the day, but who in The Acolyte even has a character design you'd want? At least Ahsoka had the Dark Jedi guy.
I do wonder what happens to some of those goods that people never buy. Do they just landfill them like the ET cartridges? Or work in some deal with a third world country to offload them there.
They send the shirts for the losing teams in the playoffs to Africa so maybe there
I have no idea. Last time I saw star wars stuff in discount stores it was for the last time Disney messed up Star Wars and no one wanted it then either. :p
OP is a lazy faggot, so I have to pick up the slack

looks like the store "finds" 4 items when searching "The Acolyte", but doesn't display them.
Keep fighting the good fight, brother. Screenshot posting is a blight.
See?
You looked it up yourself
And you believed it
Was that so hard?
Now stop preaching to the choir and make our enemies look it up.
You are too stupid for this forum and need to shut the fuck up.
fag
also, I didn't believe it because the original post is not quite correct. items were found on the store, but they are not being displayed. probably due to a bug. if you actually look at the archive, it's different from the screenshot.
screenshot posters are fags
Comment Reported for: Rule 15 - Slurs
You are also allowed to call each other fags!
someone reported that? What a retard.
my nigga!
It's pretty easy to loose money when you fuck with a winning combo without having the intelligence and skill to replace it with something interesting and thought-provoking.
KOTOR 1 was a perfect example of taking Star Wars and simultaneously writing a story that took the winning combo and give it it's own unique twist with enough creativity to actually keep it fresh and unique.
KOTOR2 was a perfect example of taking Star Wars, turning the entire thing on it's head, and forcing you to think about the full implications thereof without actually hating any of it.
Disney could never manage either of those.
I think they'd have cooked Star Wars even if the DEI wasn't present. They'd have Disney-Marvelled it anyway. Disney doesn't like ambiguity, it has to be binary heroes vs villains. The stories are all the same.
Star Wars isn't the best counter to that, but there was always lingering doubt. Was there good in Vader? Would Luke turn? Would the republic win? Yeah, in hindsight you know what happens, but in the moment there are questions.
George Lucas has always been adamant that the good/evil dichotomy in SW is stark. Light side = good, Dark Side = bad. Jedi = good, Sith = bad. He wanted that hero-villain dichotomy as unambiguous as possible, which is why Palpatine was so cartoonishly evil.
KK and her pet directors like Cryin Johnson and Headland are the ones trying to muddy the waters by attempting to rehabilitate the Sith and throw shit on the Jedi. That was the whole point of the Acolyte, and a big part of the reason it failed.
Honestly, I'm not against "Law vs. Chaos" themes in contrast to "Good vs. Evil," though those sorts of stories, to be effective, usually make a point that both ends of that spectrum are not good (True Law denies you any agency, True Chaos is unhindered immorality and destruction), a balance keeps their worst aspects in check.
They couldn't possibly do that right though. At this point, they're literally cheering Chaos as being a moral good.
And so many modern Hollywood writers all have the same lefty university viewpoint. But yes you are right. With good writing it could be very good.
Yeah, I haven't actually followed enough of the new stuff, I know I've seen some shades of "was the Sith really that bad?"
I guess my argument was more when it was new and not in George Lucas retrospective. There is tension in the original trilogy as a first time watcher, you expect good to win, but you don't know. Luke is about to be killed mere seconds before the destruction of the Death Star, and mere minutes before the end of the film. There's already been conflict and failure in the movie to keep you thinking, Obi Wan was killed, etc. It's so different from the "woo hoo, the hero is here to kick ass and chew bubblegum" from a Disney-Marvel. Of course with respect to Star Wars, if you've seen it a trillion times you know what will happen. But yeah, I didn't think it was the best example anyway, and it still pales in comparison to most of the Marvel stuff.
Are you implying that marvel wasn’t DEI’d?
No, I'm implying that Disney turns them to shit without DEI.
The reported budget for The Acolyte was $180 million. To put this into perspective, Godzilla Minus One was made on a $15 million budget. Even putting aside the atrocious writing, there is some terrible financial mismanagement going on over there at Disney.
Easy. You completely ignore or don't understand why it was loved in the first place.
That's what they get for hiring lesbian activists with horrifying jawlines and cunty attitudes to create these shows. What talent they do bring to the table it's never in the interests of a franchised beloved by groups these freaks despise more than any bigot they project about.
Well ain't that some Sith

that name sounds like an STD.
BobIgerCorp(r) found a way!
Put a woman in it. Make her gay. And lame!
easy.
lucas milked the franchise damn near dry(find me a span of more than a year or two since star wars first appeared ont he silver screen where there wasn't some star wars property or tie-in being pushed like mad), and then he sold the rights to disney, who tried to remake it in their own image, and the cash cow died of exhaustion.
lucas suffered from not having someone around with enough weight to curb his autism.
disney suffered from hating the people who made lucasfilm worth 5 billion dollars.
you mispelled "ego".
One of the reasons the original trilogy did so well is because he consulted with a lot of other people who knew what they were doing, and they helped him make the films better by helping to cut scenes that didn't work or reworking scenes, etc.
By the time he did the special editions, though, the fans had inflated his ego to such a degree that he basically said "fuck all that, I'm going to do this the way I wanted to, I'm a genius filmmaker, I know how to make a film work..."
You can NEVER lose money with Star Wars. Never ever.
But nothing they’ve made in the last ten years has been Star Wars. Therein lies the problem.
halloween livery in AUGUST
Well when you are a Lesbian Showrunner who for some reasons has a fixation on making the Lightsabers phallic objects and then have arrogance Privlaged Dutch girls as your lead. Shits gonna collapse.
....and nothing of value was lost....
