Head of London's Metropolitan Police Service says England will go after overseas individuals who break UK law by posting "incitement" or "hatred" online. It's unclear whether this only refers to English citizens abroad.

Either way, these people are genuinely evil.

Foreigners enter the country and emurder and rape children: they sleep.

Foreigners post online about all the raped and murdered children: full tactical response!

Seriously, not even Orwell and Huxley thought of the government enacting two-tier anarcho-tyranny like this. I almost have to be impressed how vindictive the UK is being towards it's own citizens.

Hahaha. You'd be lucky to get some Canadians and Aussies at best. I think you should start by sending your police to Moscow to make sure they have a loicense for that illegal speech.

As for my country we defeated you and the natives both. Piss off.

I have no doubts a Dem regime would absolutely hand over US citizens because of muh white terrorism or whatever.

They had better stack the Supreme Court first then, because they will be smacked down hard otherwise.

Yes, but even without stacking the court, it'll be the same problem as always.

The people who can't just come up with hundreds of thousands of dollars for lawyers will be snatched up. Organizations founded on being the defense of these people like the ACLU will close their eyes because the victims are alt-right nazis or incels or whatever the magic word will be.

Those that can afford a defense aren't going to get extradition orders because all it takes is one SCOTUS decision (as you point out) to put things right, so going after, say, popular Twitter users and the like, simply won't be done. Similar to the strategy of NY, for example, with gun control and cheeky removing anti-2A laws once they get appealed high enough in the hopes that the court will rule things moot instead of actually rendering a decision.

The only hope would be for someone with money to swoop in to the defense of someone who doesn't. And even then, it's still lighting money on fire.

Justice is expensive. By design.

Justice is expensive. By design.

Sure. But in this particular case, I have no doubt that Elon would be jumping at the chance to fund the first case they try this on. He won't just sit back and let the UK destroy Twitter.

I hope the UK police are stupid enough to try it. It will absolutely blow up in their faces.

It's this attitude that leaves you shocked if and when it happens. Maybe when someone makes a threat (and they have the means to even remotely try to achieve it), it should be taken under advisement?

A lot of things have come to a head at the moment. And a lot of idiots who don't understand the power they're playing with are overplaying their hand. How people react could change a lot of things. I'm not hopeful, but it's possible. But equally so, doing nothing and giggling at them won't change things at all. It'll just facilitate the status quo.

This attitude is because I am armed to the teeth like millions of other Americans, which is why this will go absolutely nowhere here. The cops may be evil and dumb, but they aren't suicidal.

doing nothing and giggling at them won't change things at all.

Who says we are doing nothing? We are in the middle of taking over the Republican party and putting our anti-establishment candidate in the White House again. And if you think laughing at them isn't effective then you weren't paying attention in 2016. The entire reason that globohomo went mask off and stopped slowly boiling the frog, which directly led to enough people waking up to the scam and resulting in this response from the police is because we laughed at them. It terrifies them that we aren't scared of their sabre rattling, and they are making panicked, self-defeating decisions because of it.

And what exactly have you done so far? No really. You've had your rights infringed upon over and over and over. And every time you fuckers claim you'll do an uprising at some point, but you never fucking do. Look at the lockdowns for example. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their jobs. These fuckers have done so much to you. And not once did you do shit. Neither did I. Nobody did shit. Because you'd always do it next time. Next time, the people would rise up and we would revolt! Because last time juuuust wasn't far enough.

But this time, however...

You're not wrong that we have the strength. But are you ready to use that strength? Because I don't think people are. I don't think shit has hit the fan enough for that. People are comfy. The like what they've got, and they don't actually believe it's at risk enough. Revolutions happen because losing their lives is better than the alternative of losing.

You're mocking them for rattling sabres, but I'm not seeing anything but sabre rattling in return. It's all bark and no bite, because you somehow believe that the system can be reformed. Tell me one point in recent history that it was actually reformed. And to give you a window, let's say anything past 1990. Show me any time it has actually been reformed. Until then, it's still going to be all bark and no bite as you continue to back a 90s Democrat and believe that somehow means you're a true Right Wing Champion because you've defined your views in opposition to the Left.

Soap->ballot->ammo.

There aren't enough people at the third box yet. And if you think people in the UK getting exactly what they keep voting for is going to somehow throw Americans into a revolution, then I don't know what to tell you.

I am mocking them because I literally don't give a fuck about the UK, and their threats here are completely impotent. I don't care if their system can be reformed, and I don't care what their police or politicians think about my political views. I can't control what goes on over there any more than these idiot limey cops can control what I post on twitter. If they think they can control me then I encourage them to try.

Speaking of which, I'm all out of fucks to give about whether my views are hard-core enough for you either.

Answer this one question: If you've done literally nothing about every other time that shit has gone "too far", what makes this "too far" situation any different?

All bark. No bite.

What the fuck are you going on about? The US is not, and will never deport American citizens to the UK for this nonsense. There is nothing here as an American to get fired up over. If you want to go out and fight a personal war to defend the honor of a bunch of spineless cucks in the UK, then knock yourself right out, tough guy.

The US is not, and will never deport American citizens to the UK for this nonsense

And a decade ago, you'd have told me that the US would never demand papers for the citizens to walk into a shop. Yet that's exactly what happened during lockdowns. And what did you do? You might have mildly non-complied. But did you actually do anything? Has anyone faced repercussions for their actions?

It won't happen, until it suddenly does, and you'll continue to do nothing. All bark, no bite.

If you want to go out and fight a personal war to defend the honor of a bunch of spineless cucks in the UK, then knock yourself right out, tough guy.

Make no mistake, I'm not saying you should go out there and fight. But don't pretend like you're a tough guy on the internet when you're not. You've had countless opportunities to call foul and start fighting. There are any number of grand injustices that you could banner behind. But you don't. Because you're afraid of losing what you've got. And I am too. I know I am. But I'm not sitting at home on my computer talking about how we can rise up if they do X. I'm not fantasising about what I'd love to see happen but ultimately doing nothing to achieve that.

I'm not saying you suck for doing nothing. I'm calling you a tool for being an internet tough guy. Wake up. You're not going to fight because, and I don't mean this as a negative, you still have too much good to lose. You have so much good to lose that it's not worth risking it. You think I'm being a "tough guy", but I'm in that same boat too. I haven't thrown it all away either. Nor do I intend to. I'm just not going to pretend that I will if some other arbitrary injustice were to take place.

Sorry mate, but the reality is that shit is going to have to get a lot worse before people will rise up and fight back.

So to go back to my question. That's a no. You haven't done jack fucking shit any of the countless other times shit has gone too far. So why pretend this time will be any different? Why act like this injustice is the one that will finally get you to do that mythical Something™ when we both know that you're not going to do anything?

I think we're at the end here and I've pretty much made my point. So you have a good one, though you should stop trying to delude yourself that you're going to rise up at the next injustice, because there's just no real reason to suggest you will. It didn't happen last time, it won't happen next time, and it won't happen the time after that.

If they even TRY with Americans then Trump would grandstand telling them to get fucked to their face.

I can think of NO country, not even Canada or Australia or even the EU, that would extradite it's citizens for 'breaking UK speech laws'.

As for their own citizens abroad, you might have more requests for naturalisation and surrendering British nationality if they did try which would just be an even worse image globally.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Z%C3%BCndel

On 5 February 2003, Ernst Zündel was detained by local police in the U.S. and deported to Canada, where he was detained for two years on a security certificate for being a foreign national considered a threat to national security pending a court decision on the validity of the certificate. Once the certificate was upheld, he was deported to Germany and tried in the state court of Mannheim on outstanding charges of incitement of Holocaust denial dating from the early 1990s. On February 15, 2007, he was convicted and sentenced to the maximum term of five years in prison. All these imprisonments and prosecutions were for inciting hatred against an identifiable group.[9] He was released on March 1, 2010.[10]

It wouldn’t be totally without precedent… though I suppose Zundel’s citizenship status complicated things, he had been a resident of Canada from 1958-2000

A more relevant precedent is the fate of Liberty Reserve. Its corporate officers, having never set foot in the US, were arrested in Spain, and their servers in Costa Rica were seized, and they were taken to Jew York to face money laundering charges, all because their website, which operated a web based currency without asking anyone for ID, was reachable from the US. Legally, it was declared that having a website that's reachable from the US is the same thing as doing business here, no matter where you or your servers are located, and regardless of citizenship.

That's the thing, though. UK makes a request to the US. US sends the FBI, maybe a few MET SWAT officers for flavor, to your house at 3am, perform a no-knock raid, shoot your dog, flashbang your child, and murder you. For words on a screen that offended a foreign entity.

I'm not trying to be a doomer here but if the UK did decide to go after American citizens, and our sorry excuse of a government went along with it, I'm pretty sure that's how it would play out.

I’m more concerned the US government would do it themselves than bothering with WTF the UK wants to do. FBI isn’t going to do that at the behest of the UK, but of their own accord.

If people in the wrong parts of the US start to notice their friends disappearing randomly, at some point it will turn ugly for the FBI. That’s the reason such things are so difficult in the US. With the 2nd amendment, at a certain point there is a line in the sand.
