"Has Degraded People’s Trust" says the guy who changed his own name for "reasons" Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz

Seeing him sperg out like a toddler has been so satisfying. His nihilistic, holier than thou politics as "comedy" was a big catalyst for the oedipal mother retard voting block that comprises a huge contingent of people under 40 now. I remember having to bite my tongue in college because he and Obama became a badge of honor for midwit, otherwise apolitical people to display "intelligence" and virtue.

I wonder if people still consider TDS a centric show

It took me a second to realize TDS meant "The Daily Show" and not "Trump Derangement Syndrome".

The use of acronyms should be discouraged as a general rule.

I had an English teacher teach me it's considered bad form to introduce acronyms into a writing until you've established what the acronym stands for by writing out the whole thing beforehand. That lesson has stuck with me since.

The first time I worked in a government office I kept a notebook and wrote every acronym I came across in it in an effort to decipher all the jargon in that environment. I gave up after I literally filled up the entire notebook.

Acronyms are a scourge upon the land.

Hospital acronyms. So add scratchy rushed handwriting in as well

just write "with", it's not long ffs.

– Kweebecker 5 points 1 year ago +5 / -0

I'd kill for scratchy handwriting. My workplace uses the cheapest fuckin' tablets in existence, no using your own, and some of the staff insist on using pens (touch something someone else had touched? Icky!), not iPad pens but actual pens, for their data input into them, so their touchscreens are scratched to hell and back...

So the acronyms will say something like "BKSCK" and I'll stand there wondering, until I parse together it isn't an acronym at all, but the word "black" with two fat-finger typos from mis-entries they didn't fix and in allcaps randomly mid-phrase because they edited a different word out from a properly formatted sentence while in allcaps mode for some byzantine reason.

It’s better with Jon Stewart than with Trevor Noah.

I honestly thought the presenter didn’t write anything. But for some reason it makes a difference to me.

What is happening to leftists? They've been ignoring Biden's dementia for 4 years, it is not like they didn't know he was like this when they elected him in the first place.

What am I missing?

  1. Biden's no longer a useful puppet as too broken

  2. His presence is actually affecting polling downstream so Dem house and senate elections are being affected.

  3. Donors are dipping bad because they don't trust a public retard with their money.

▲ 19 ▼
– Galean 19 points 1 year ago +19 / -0

For number 3, they trusted him 4 years ago without issue.

If I was more in to conspiracy theories I would say it is related to leftists being anti-Israel and Biden being to weak to manage that side of the party. They hate Trump so they want someone that is a pro-Israel leftist

That's actually a lot of the donors that switched to Trump, A LOT of prominent rich Jews or with Jewish links have become donors to Trump as they think he can protect them and Israel better than the Democrats in general.

Which looking at the 'Gaza pier' fiasco, is completely understandable..

This is one of the reasons I'm iffy on the Deep State interfering with Trump much this time round, the Dems have fucked up around Israel so much that they might prefer to let Trump win than deal with Dems who would rather pander (ineffectually) to Muslims.

Still wondering if the Gaza pier debacle was a deliberate ''oopsie'' by some high-ranking military officer who didn't want the USA military to ship more Palestinians to the USA and Europe.

▲ 11 ▼
– SoctaticMethod1 11 points 1 year ago +11 / -0

Possibly, but more likely they just fucked up because the competent ones in the military went hands off than bail them out as usual knowing left to their own devices, they'd fuck it up on their own.

The military's getting paid regardless of how good a job they do.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼

That makes sense, would also imply that the leftists are trying to change Biden to get their donors back.

– MrHeretic 7 points 1 year ago +7 / -0

I think that a democrat who is too openly pro-Israel would be a PR nightmare, given that there are already lots of leftists who are critical enough of the country that they might not want someone who does.

I still don't know who they could get to replace him, given that they are running out of time fast and he is being quite stubborn with holding the position.

It's also too late for them to have a real primary. Dems are afraid of an insurgency in their party, especially with Israel/Palestine being this enflamed. It's late enough that they've successfully disenfranchised their own base and chose whoever the DNC leadership and donors want.

I actually think I know the reason WHY they are stuck with Biden right now:

RFK Jr running, they rushed Biden in the as the incumbent through the primaries to block RFK Jr running as a nominee, so now they are stuck with Biden.

It's really not. You have to understand they don't have standards, or principles, and only care about power.

Biden is going to lose, therefore decrease dems power, therefore they can now notice the problems he has.

It’s posturing, the same reason Hillary magically disappeared, why they trot out obummer and celebtards every chance they get. Democrats play a pure game of manipulation for the low IQ, stahm, and cat moms. They know that the “moderate” (union/ tech/ etc) voters they rely on saw that disastrous debate and aren’t so dyed in blue they would risk complete economic collapse just so they can keep their respective grifts going. This is them “getting out ahead” of the impending loss to say “we totally weren’t lying for 4 years we’re just as shocked as you are!” It’s all posturing for low IQs and cognitive dissonant people to cling to their narrative.

It's the level of narrative echo-chamber.

This isn't the first time I've heard this:

"There's basically no difference between Joe Biden or Donald Trump"

Even his criticisms on Biden are laced with attacks on Trump. Leibowitz doesn't hate Biden because he's a senile old fool who's not qualified to run a lemonade stand let alone the country. And he certainly doesn't hate him because he and his whole family are crooks who've been selling us out to China, throwing open our borders, compromising our national security, and getting us involved in more foreign wars. Leibowitz hates him because he's helping to usher in a second Trump term (and because his masters are telling him to).

"Trumpian". I love how hard Trump broke them. People use the same term in Norwegian political discourse as well.

Joe Biden reinvented himself as the Democrat version of Trump in 2020 in order to 'beat' him in the elections. He copied Trump's truculent and boastful style and has now even copied Trump's orange color.

All these things were tested on census groups and what have you.

I think you’re giving Biden too much credit; I don’t think he can or could in 2020 follow any sort of meta behavioural script provided to him by some sort of research group. “Listen fat”, “you’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier” and challenging people to push up contests was just him being an irritable demented old coot IMO.

That type of behavior does fall in line with early onset dementia. Becoming irritable because he doesn't fully understand the situations he's in, but on the other hand, it does make him eerily similar to what the Democrats think Trump is like.

Trump won the Republican primaries by going for the throat and fighting dirty and that's what Biden was demonstrating in spirit with the choreographed press exposure during the 2020 elections (limited exposure to hide his early onset dementia).

Depending on what happens with Biden, I think this is something that they're going to try to push with Trump if he wins. Focus in on any and all missteps or wrong information from him and build up the case to declare him incompetent to lead.
