Even in their heyday, tons of magazines were propped up by fake sales. In extreme cases they'd buy extra copies through a proxy and throw them all into a dumpster just to cook the numbers and trick more advertisers.

I've seen some people in Manosphere circles complain that only women have a body positivity movement. Well, the men's one is here now, and it needs to go away and take the women's one with it.
I call this dynamic "tactical hypocrisy."

EDIT: Alright, to be fair, if these guys are going for bodybuilding/strength training, it's not entirely out of the question. They need the weight to pull that off. All top weightlifters do look pretty chunky. If they aren't building muscle under all that fat, holy shit, they are NOT healthy.
