Also women talk behind each others back more often than not. "Carol is such a slut" etc when she isn't there. The whole affirmation and positivity is all fake. Men don't do that generally, we don't randomly praise someone but we don't talk behind their back either. If I got a problem with someone I will tell them directly.
Watch Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law's sequel "Birdgirl." It's the most egregious of what you just said. The main schtick of the former is watching Birdman suffer. The sequel completely misses the point and turns the show into a fucking hugbox. It's atrocious.
It's interesting too, because face to face, women are like that to one another. Often to a point of sounding patronizing. However, the moment they aren't in the same room they turn into backstabbing harpies. Something that is completely ignored in women orientated media. Which paints a very biased point of view.
That 70's Show had a pretty funny episode that actually called this out. The men were bragging about how they can play fight without it getting nasty, and the women took offense to it. Then they tried it out and ended up going at each other's throats within seconds. (sorry, it's been years and I forget pretty much every one of their names)

This tells me that they know they do it, they know it's bad to do, but they want to hide it so they can't be judged for it. Then they continue to do it, anyway.
There were lots of times I was the only man hanging out with a group of women and it gets bad quick. The shit I'd hear was atrocious. It's why I don't take majority of the complaints about men being too vulgar or locker room talk seriously. I've consistently heard women say shit men wouldn't even in a room full of "bros"
my mom used to always go on and on how men objectified her when she hit puberty. Then she became a nurse and whenever she has to unwind about her job it's 50% comments about how small the penises are on her patients. Like, dude.... Zero self awareness. Granted, a lot of em are fat and that does tend to.. offset things, but still. Preach what you teach.
It's so much better than that, look up 'hallmark' and 'chatgpt' for some hilarious auto generated scripts that are entirely too accurate for the genre whilst also absurd.
My favourite result is the one about a widow whose husband "died in every war".
in case of isekai, The male fantasy is more like: let me be born into a world where I am the most important person, get all the bitches, and get to fight a bunch!
Isekai is a genre where the protagonist starts as a normal person living in the real world, usually a lonely teenaged kid, then abruptly dies and gets reincarnated as a super mega hero in a D&D-esq fantasy world. Usually something about their lonely previous life turns into their strength and they save the world. It's currently clogging up the industry and I hate it.
So isekai just means another world. Any story where the character is transported to another world is an isekai. To be a bit technical, what you described is probably the most prominent sub-genre within isekai at the moment. There's been a lot of them that take the power level of the MC and dial it up to 11. But then there's plenty where the power levels are all sorts of things.
for sure, there are a few good ones out there. I enjoyed the first few seasons of rising of the shield hero, and jobless reincarnation is very good when you fast forward through the pedo parts. Heck, the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is a timeless classic. I'm just kind of pissed off at the genre because they take a concept with so much potential and absolutely squandered them over waifu bait and power fantasy scenarios. The worst offender was Gate, where there were a few instances of really interesting plot points being set up, but they are sidelined in favor of the harem.
They follow the rule of "90% of everything is crap" like just about everything does in my eyes. Tons of straight trash but on the other hand there are the ReZeros, Mushoku Tenseis, Overlords, Konosubas, etc. to balance it out.
Women's entertainment is a cornucopia of shallow, narcissistic, self inserts to stroke the ego of the author. It never shows personal growth, learning and most importantly suffering from consequences.
This is why feminism cannot create. It can only corrupt and destroy.
For modern day feminist writing I guess so. Affirmation is part of the “her-os” journey. Sucks because there are great female writers especially in the murder mystery area
Women are bad with impulse control. That's why they get fatter, or sluttier, or needier the more they get a taste of that particular vice in a downward spiral. So once you start telling them how great they are, they need more and more until its a never ending cycle of fluffing.
So things aimed at them are designed to either neg them (lowering the bar so the followup compliment can land better) or simply fluff them into addiction.
as a husband, complimenting my wife on things is essential for a healthy marriage. And even outside of work, complimenting people and recognizing when they do something well is just a generally good strategy. As long as it's not fake. There is much to be learned from hallmark movies.
it's polite to exaggerate with women. Saying to your wife or girlfriend, "you look nice" isn't as good as saying "you look amazing!". It's okay to act like Dwight Schrute with the bros but with a girl it's not.
Modern offices have started to mirror this. I started really noticing it in 2020 when company-wide meetings started going online, but it's almost certainly been going on longer than that.
If you think it's bad that your girlfriend/wife makes you watch this crap, imagine having to live it as a condition collecting a paycheck.
It's gotten so obvious I've had just normal co-workers notice this independently. I've explained it in masculine/feminine terms, but connecting it to Hallmark movies/Soap Operas is even better. "Doesn't work now feel like those shitty Hallmark movies your wife makes you watch? Do you think there's a connection there? What do you think it is?"
One treats shit like gold, and the other beats carbon into diamonds.
Excellent take.

Lol yeah if I dislike you and we see each other regularly then you'll know it too. The only exception being in a professional setting.
Hallmark is to women like porn is to men.
It fills their heads with unrealistic expectations of life and relationships.

Yes.
#NotAllWomen
(but most of them)

Hallmark movies are like trashy isekai anime, except they pander to the braindead female fantasy instead of the braindead male fantasy.
Female fantasy: please have everyone love me and tell me how great I am. I dont even have to be great I just want them to tell me I am.
Male fantasy: please take me as far away from clown world as possible. Preferably to a completely different plane of existence.
in case of isekai, The male fantasy is more like: let me be born into a world where I am the most important person, get all the bitches, and get to fight a bunch!

It's the easiest, laziest way to make a fantasy character relatable. Make him a normal person who's kinda boring.
Someone, somewhere probably wished for less high school anime and the monkey's paw granted their wish.

HerOS has some major bugs, is virus ridden, and will soon cause a total system crash likely frying the hardware into uselessness.
It is full of ads as well.
Bonding with guys: fake insults. Laughs. "Ugly bastards." Sports.
Bonding with gals: fake compliments. Sneers. "Beautiful darling." Hallmark.
People suck.
To be honest, it speaks to women's terrible insecurity because women's complements don't always mean what they say.
Truth is, women need men to feel secure, because they learn that when their man says something, he meant that and only that.
Modern women haven't figured that out because modernity has trained women not to understand that.

simping is going up to girls you have no chance with and telling them they look amazing. It's not simping if the girl is having your babies.
yes lol

Well, it's either this or some "men are evil" hate piece.
On hallmark? Not quite.
