I get called a doomer for saying no one is coming to save you, but, no one is coming to save you.

Doomers need to go get under the bed and wait for the killer to find them. God forbid they face their captor.

one of the things I absolutely hated, sure. It doesnt mean he isnt the best real candidate rather than some fictional theoretical one.

But it did show a valuable truth. No matter how much pandering Republicans or non-Democrats do to attempt to get the black vote, it wont work. There is no amount of money you can throw at them. Money/gibs doesnt work, so stop attempting it.

I for one have always wondered why so much energy is expended trying to ask nicely for the termites to just leave. You can't bribe a parasite. You have to burn them off.

This replacement was voted on, and seemingly decided, back in 2016. It's not on DeSantis, he was just a representative then.

My mom always says please explain how the confederate statue is stopping you from learning, saving money, or working hard and getting a good job

Because niggers can't associate with abstracts such as ideas and ideals unless they have a physical representation.

That's also why they need black superman etc.

Well then that is their problem if they can’t. Gonna have a tough time in life

While I agree in principle, the problem is that everybody in the general area will also have a tougher time now.

I think the Confederate statue should have stayed but Trump 2024ers are desperate to hit DeSantis on anything they can.

Trump 2024 has zero hope of winning a general election.

Too many moderates and independents loathe Trump.

Fucking clowns can't accept it and want to doom us into permanent Dem rule by running orange man over and over again.

I agree. Worst-case scenario: Trump gets R nomination, gets trounced in the general election, D puppet runs country further into ground over ensuing 4 years. If the Republic still exists, DeSantis is a shoo-in in 2028.

Best-case: DeSantis runs this cycle, trounces Trump in primaries, gets elected by wide margin in 2024.

Did you know that there is a monument dedicated to German POWs in the Chattanooga, TN national cemetery? https://ncagermanpows.omeka.net/items/browse?tags=chattanooga

Ataturk commemorated the Australian dead of the Gallipoli campaign at an Australian cemetery in Turkey in a speech where he said:

You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours

https://www.awm.gov.au/articles/encyclopedia/ataturk

The point being that those who actually do the fighting and dying do not usually bear a generations-spanning grudge against their enemy. The push to purge Confederate memorials from public spaces is a wholly current fashion, driven almost entirely by people who have never served a day in uniform in their lives and probably look down on those who do.

Regardless of the merit of the individual being honored by their substitute monuments, it doesn't justify removing existing memorials, particularly when the soldiers who would have the most right to ask for their removal have historically been OK with them.

The push to purge Confederate memorials from public spaces is a wholly current fashion, driven almost entirely by people who have never served a day in uniform in their lives and probably look down on those who do.

Even more so, its driven almost entirely on extreme hatred of the people who live in these areas. The media over the decades has bred a nearly genocidal hatred of any white southerner in most of the Left (and truly most of the world), to a point where anything they like is considered evil and to be hated.

The Confederacy just has the thin veneer of "racism" that they don't even have to hold back their raw rage in attacking it.

Of course. Removing Confederate War memorials is purely a political move that placates the woke mob.

Have you forgotten Trump's Platinum plan or the first step act he passed releasing thousands of black criminals back onto the streets?

Desantis is clearly not perfect but Trump 2024ers will only forgive any mistake Trump does.

What about being actual misinformation? This was voted on back in 2016 when DeSantis was, I believe, still just a representative. He could have done very little about it back then, even if he did support it. The OP frames it like this was entirely his choice and very recent.

A purely political move to placate the savages, not an ideological shift or capitulation. Don't read anything sinister into this.

Wrong.

https://news.wjct.org/state-news/2020-09-18/future-of-floridas-gen-kirby-smith-confederate-statue-remains-undecided

The removal, and replacement, was seemingly decided way back in 2016.

"State lawmakers voted in 2016 to replace the Smith statue at the National Statuary Hall amid a nationwide backlash against Confederate symbols that followed the 2015 shooting deaths of nine black worshippers at a historic black church in Charleston, S.C. Lawmakers later decided to use a statue of educator and civil-rights leader Mary McLeod Bethune to represent the state."

DeSantis was only a representative in 2016, meaning it really wasn't up to him.

C'mon guys, do a little research before freaking out and jumping to conclusions. It took me all of five minutes to find this info, and I haven't even had any coffee yet this morning.

Desantis literally flew to israel to sign a bill trying to cuck out Floridians' 1a rights for the sake of his precious jews and israeli government. In federal office, he's going to make zion don look like Hermann Göring.
