Let me guess. They'll only enforce the law against men.
this is the philippines, so no?
Apparently whoever wrote this didn't even finish reading the title he was citing.
The worst thing about declaring "ghosting" to be an offense is that there might be good reason why you want nothing to do with the person, and it's not worth having a fight with them when you know neither side is going to budge.
See, I'm curious as to how this would effect restraining orders, as you have to think a ton of people could use this new law to get around them. "Hey, I can't be within a certain distance of you? You're ghosting me and now have to go to jail."
You can't claim that someone disappeared without explanation if they went to the trouble of sending you an official court document explaining their disappearance.
Once again a government trying to become a parent to adult children.
Now they're trying to force you to play with the weird kid you don't like so he won't cry.
She.
EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!
Looks to be a storm in a teacup.
Incels rejoice! Women are no longer allowed to reject any men.
Oh these laws always only go one way, you say?
I’m here to say two simple words: life continues
why is it in english?
Because English is an official language of the Philippines. You are a good demonstration of why Americans have a reputation for being clueless about anything outside the USA.
This is the most redditard comment I've seen on here.
It's perfectly natural for someone who doesn't live in the Philippines to wonder why an official document isn't in Tagalog.
You are a good demonstration of the eurofags we mock here.
Nope, it would have been faster to look up whether English was an official language of the Phillipines than post that comment. Expecting people to spend 3 seconds to inform themselves before posting dumb comments is a rather low bar.
You also demonstrate your rather limited imagination by assuming everyone not from the US must be from Europe.
Fuggin pinoys not only shitting up my USW dota games but my forum browsing experience as well
Fuck the Philippines, fuck their shitty disgusting food, and fuck you too.
Right on! We (the US) should have finished the job in 1900.
Lol

Well I guess I know who got a few too many left swipes.
Compelled government speech is evil.
2Spooky4Me.
Arnie Teves got ghosted. lol.
A few years from now:
Sir you're under arrest for what you did to Anne
What for? I didn't ghost her! I broke up in person like the law demanded it!
Yeah well, you didn't do it gently enough. She was very distraught when we responded to her 911 call.
OK, I'll bite. What on earth is an "emotional offense" supposed to be legally and why is it the concern of a legislature? Is there, like, some sort of penalty involved?
In general this is clearly gross totalitarian over-reach. Insane, in fact.
Ghosting sucks but good grief it shouldn’t be a crime
Unless it's a family member or my best friend I honestly couldn't care less.
Whether you care or not doesn't mean it isn't rude or hurtful. You're just trying to escape a difficult conversation. Ghosters are pussy bitches.
It's rude, and the person who wants to break contact should be an adult and tell the other person that. I genuinely think it's a cowardly move. Imagine dating someone for months and then being ghosted with no explanation as though that's not cowardly. The ghoster just wants to avoid a tough conversation and doesn't have the courage to be fair.
When I was doing online dating it happened a few times. Usually we would be messaging to the point where I’d ask to meet up for coffee or something. They would agree and then ghost.
Did it pass?
I kind of want it to just to see someone get charged for it only for them to find out the person died. It would fit this clown world so well.
Blocking someone now illegal!
Steve Shives sweating buckets.
I was about to type "this was so convincing, that I almost believed it"
Then I googled it... FML:
Tagalog TL;DR: Mga magnanakaw lang pala gusto mong panoorin, magbantay ka na lang sa CCTV... 🤦♂️
Really? So, defeating the "Pink Revolution" meant nothing. They still won.
Ghosting is an example of something that's often juvenile, cowardly, and should be shamed, but should never be illegal.
Well, I'm glad we agree on what women are.
