When modern western cinema adapts anything, it is guaranteed that a red head will be cast as a black person. Warner does this, like they've done here, and like they've done with Teen Titans, but so does Netflix (Witcher), and every other studio/producer. I don't know a single instance where a red head has not been replaced in the last 3 years.

That is always a red flag for me. There is no other reason for race swapping than some woke nonsense. Back in the day race swaps were few and far between but now it’s just nauseating. Why not pick a black character, woman, or other minority from the source material instead of changing established ones.
You know why.
They're terrible writers, and anyway, it's not about the film, it's about the message.
They can't get mass circulation for the new stuff they write because they can't write compelling characters. They only know how to write NPCs like themselves.
The message is: You have already lost. This is us stamping everything you even like into the ground simply because you like it.
Just because that message is asserted vehemently it does not make it true. Personally, I think they've played their hand too early, but then "zealot" and "patience" rarely fit in the same sentence.

In The Batman with Robert Pattinson (which is a different continuity), Commissioner Gordon will be black. Inching closer and closer to the core characters they really want. For Superman I would expect Lois to be next, they already got Jimmy Olsen and Lex Luthor. Within the decade we will have a swapped Batman or Superman, with normies finally learning about multiverses they'll have all the excuse they need.
And Perry White in Man of Steel played by Lawrence Fishburne.
Lex Luthor has been 'black' since the 90's, and unless there's a specific change to make the character more sympathetic, I don't really consider blackwashing villains to be 'woke'. Black Lex Luthor is less offensive to me than Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal.
I don't know that his race/ethnic heritage was ever specified. He was always some ambiguous brown in that, (hence why I said 'black' in quotes), but I've seen people refer to that version of Luthor as black.

The funniest part is that if they had picked a GOOD actress, no one would care as much about their race. Heimdall, James Gordon, Shazam...they are all played by capable, respectable actors (Elba, Wright, and Hounsou respectively) and, while there was some backlash, it wasn't nearly as much as we see for some of these "literally who" casting choices.
