I've only seen Machine Games and Id Software use Id Tech, I don't think it's available for other commercial use and licensing, it's only for some Microsoft game studios.

The main problem with game engine is that generally, they are made for one thing only. Sure Id Tech is great, but try to make Elden Ring with it, I'm sure it's going to collapse very fast. RE is having this problem right now. It used to run game perfectly well, like RE 2 Remake or DMC 5, but with Dragon's Dogma 2 and MH Wilds, it's starting to crumble very fast. Even if you could license Id Tech 7, I don't think you could do that much except FPS / TPS linear games.

At this point, just shorten the bullet point list and simply put "Must not be a straight white male", it's faster and doesn't waste everyone's time.

At least EA made some great games before killing the studio / IPs. We still had C&C Red Alert 2 and C&C 3, Burnout 3 + 4 + Paradise, Sim City 4, those are all staples of their genres.

Nintendo is actively trying to kill emulation in any way possible. Nintendo has killed countless fangames. Nintendo tried to get rid of any artists who tried to draw Pokemons. Old games are delisted, then sold back at full price. Pokemon games run at like <10FPS.

Not saying the others are good either, but Nintendo is on a league of its own.

People might say that 23.976 fps is objectively an imperfection, but those that have seen 60 fps film footage knows it utterly destroys that movie magic feel. It turns movies into gaudy soap opera effect garbage even though 60 fps is closer to what our eyes can see.

That's just because people are used to it. I've seen comparison between 24 and 60 FPS movies, and since I don't watch many movies at all, and play games at 144+FPS, I always prefer the 60FPS movie version. To me that feels way more natural.

Furthermore, frames in movies generally have tons of motion blur, it's easily to see if you pause it and look at it frame by frame, none of them are very clean, since they are purposefully built for movements. If your 60FPS version isn't building with the same intent, then yes, the feel is going to be very different.

Also our eyes see constant motions. There's no FPS for the brain. A game running at 144Hz for instance will always look smoother than its 60Hz counter-part.

You're right, but it's still the same principle. Only the implementation can be patented, not the actual concept in itself. Which, given how different the 2 games are, is statistically impossible that they have the exact same code and implementation.
