Yep - as soon as you see something like that, you immediately know what the intent is, and what it implies for the content of the game.
Hard pass.
Being from Aus, I don't have a horse in this race (I happen to like both Trump and DeSantis for different reasons).
But the title of this post is pure bullshit and the OP is being a disingenuous cunt.
There is nothing "breaking" about this - the laws came into effect back in May.
Nothing was walked back. This was in the original bill signed into law.
It already allowed people from the affected countries (not just China btw) to buy a single residential property if they have a VISA permitting them to work or study in the US, as long as it wasn't within 5 miles of a military base.
The laws still prohibit the sale of property located within 10 miles of military bases and other critical infrastructure – seaports, airports, power plants and water treatment facilities – to anyone with interests tied to the Chinese government or other foreign countries of concern.
Here's an article from back in May covering this: https://www.fox13news.com/news/gov-ron-desantis-signs-legislation-banning-chinese-citizens-from-buying-land-in-state
We need some kind of community notes for shit like this.
I think the difference here is when you're posting on behalf of a company, it becomes a different beast entirely.
Anything public facing usually needs to go through multiple levels of reviews / approvals, which can mean many rounds of changes and resubmission as they try to craft the perfect statement or message.
This also makes anything with video production typically work intensive (even for TikTok). You can potentially spend hours going through b-roll footage to distill something down to a 30 sec clip. And again, because it's the public face of a company, it will likely go through multiple reviews and changes before you actually get to the point of posting it.
And good luck trying to coordinate availability of people for new footage, especially if the staff are very overworked as the current controversy seems to indicate.
I've had to work with marketing teams for certain companies in the IT industry and have seen this first hand,
However, having said that, it seems pretty clear that a lot of the issues this girl was having were of her own doing...
If you're called into a meeting for drama after being in the role for 1 month, chances are that you're the issue.
If you're successfully pissing off everyone around you, it's probably you. To quote a line from the show 'Justified' - "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."
And then there's this gem: "I purposefully cut my leg open so badly I would have to go to the ER to get it stapled back together." This isn't even close to a sane response to workload pressures - she probably had mental health issues coming into the role IMO.
The part I thought was most ridiculous that I came across in Cyberpunk was a debate between the two mayoral candidates who you later work for in the game. One of them is going on and on about how 'the corporations only pay 0.7%!' and the other guy goes 'Well what about your Cayman Islands accounts!' leaving the first guy stammering and looking like a fool.
In reality, neither candidate would be saying a fucking word about either of those, because both would be paid off by corporations and both would be hiding money in the Caymans, because that's what they do RIGHT NOW.
Been a while since I played, but I remember it a bit differently from this. Peralez is a true believer and is presented as being an idealist, if somewhat naïve. He was the only council member to vote against a change in the law giving the large corps in night city a big tax loophole. Its implied that the money in the Caymans is either a false flag or is being misrepresented for political points. Holt (his opponent) on the other hand is definitely corrupt - you witness him getting into bed with Arasaka during the initial heist mission, and you find out later in the game that he covered up the death of the previous mayor. The twist is that Peralez is the victim of some Manchurian Candidate style psyop, but you never find out who is behind it (it's implied it might be an AI), or if he was always the idealist he is now, or if it's something he's been manipulated into thinking.
This was one of the most interesting missions in the game in my opinion, even if it was left somewhat open ended.
The movie opens in Australia on Thursday, August 24th.
My wife and I will be seeing it that weekend. :)
The McKinsey Management Accelerator program focuses on professional career development by customizing its curriculum and discussions to the unique situations, experiences and opportunities of BIPOC professionals. The program is set up in a mini-MBA-style that covers topics like strategy development, critical thinking, networking and problem solving. “The McKinsey Accelerator Program has been a great challenge for my leadership skillset,” said Joslyn Knight, Best Buy Distribution Operations Support Senior Analyst in Ontario, California. “Having other people of color in the program took away the façade I’ve always had to bear as a minority and allowed me to participate as a true student without having to worry about how I appear as a person of color in a space.”

This is still their best clip:

7 years old and could have been released today, still being on point.
Was going to say exactly this. It's funny - whenever I see women's sport on TV, they always have a majority of tight shots on the play because as soon as they pan out the truth about its popularity is revealed. The stadiums are fucking empty.
The irony of an NPC saying "we all think alike"
Let me guess? It's a 30 year old piece of meat between an 8 year old pair of buns?
So by this logic, women who get raped while walking home by themselves at night, should be sued for making it too easy for the rapists right?
Completely retarded.
Since when has having no basis ever stopped the FBI or DOJ from doing anything before?
Spot on summary.
The death of actual investigative journalism along the way has been genuinely sad to see (outside of James O'Keefe, Glenn Greenwald, and a few others).
Fallout modders are already using AI to add voiced dialogue options to mods based on dialogue from the original voice actors - the best example is the Roleplayer's Expanded Dialogue mod.
First thing that came to mind was this pic.
Shut up Daisy!
Are you in NSW? Google section 314 of the crimes act.
Might be a nice thing to drop in conversation if you think things are getting serious.
Who knew Idiocracy was actually a window into the future...
It's the 'adult diaper' part that's causing the confusion I'd guess - makes it sound like they are catering to a fetish, rather than a genuine medical need.
Maybe she promised to appear in his next music video lol.
I think I'll give this a watch.
Merry Christmas ya cunt!
From a fellow cunt.
:-)
Aussie here.
This tweet is bullshit and the news article they link references the previous government, so it's obviously old. A lot of dumb shit gets recommended to the government in various reports, doesn't mean it gets legislated.
Sadly, the police in Australia can already access your social media with a warrant, and can even edit and delete posts if you're the subject of an ongoing investigation, as part of anti-terrorism laws that were passed last year. It was supported by both major political parties, so they are both a bunch of cunts IMO.
My lump, my lump, my lump, my lump, check it out!
Whatever you say Jussie...
