I don't think I've watched South Park since the 90s or early 00s.

Men were mostly forced into it by people more powerful than themselves.

They'd be smart to at least do it with the sequel trilogy stuff, but they'll never do it because of the weird hold/blackmail that Kathleen Kennedy has over the company.

It's impossible to know really. The movies themselves haven't come close, but Disney does so much with the IP and it's hard to know exactly how much revenue it's generated. Just think about the huge multi billion dollar investments in the parks. How do you attribute park revenue to a specific IP that's not accounting magic? TV shows on Disney+ is another black hole. The only easily decipherable revenue streams to look at would be direct purchases of media and merchandise.

And that won't happen unless Star Wars becomes so unprofitable for Disney that they decide to sell it off... And even then they probably wouldn't do it because they'd be dumb to give up the rights. The company would have to go under or be at risk of doing so (which they're not even close to) for you to even have hope if it.

They also know that even if they never made another Star Wars anything, it'd still write checks.

His hatred of the Jesuits had more to do with his hatred of Catholicism and his thought that the Jesuits were obstructing Republicanism and the ideals of the enlightenment.

The Jesuits were always a bit more "liberal" than the other more established monastic orders, but their descent off the deep end we see today where you have Jesuits openly supporting homosexuality and other stuff, didn't start until the 1960s. I doubt any Jesuit of the 16th/17th century would even recognize the order of today as being the same.

Jesuits weren't always the way they are today.

I'd imagine it's exactly this... The question is whether they'll increase NVMe production, but somehow I think the answer will be no.

It's going to be interesting once people can just generate porn on demand... and even more so if they can do it locally. No one would know what's real anymore. The whole industry would collapse.

In some cases it's side money. Girl charges $100 for a video and some simp pays up. Funny thing is that someone buys it and then shares it anyway. I'd imagine that most of what's posted there ends up in people's hands for free. It makes it more amazing that people can make money.

Every TV show these days (with maybe a few exceptions) features characters that are entirely different shades of shitty people. I tend to figure that this is the daily life of all of the people wrapped up in the entertainment bubble... It makes it make more sense.

We've always revered our grandmothers. The problem is when these women try to act like they're still 40 rather than just being a grandmother.

The Catholic Church always allowed non-whites to be Catholics. There are a number of examples of black saints going back to the first few centuries AD. For an example, see St. Moses the Black. The Catholic Church never cared about skin color as much as Protestants do.

GTA3 came out in 2001. I was 16, so I can't comment there... However, I definitely did play the original overhead GTAs that had some pretty crude language and you could do some horrible things in them. I also played Duke Nukem 3D in the 90s and other such things. Granted, GTA Online is another beast. I doubt I'll buy this GTA until it's several years old and cheap anyway. I feel like the hype isn't as warranted as back in the 00s, but what do I know? I'm an old fart at this point.

There are loads of conservatives that look at the 70s-90s as a golden age and think if we just went back to that everything would be great. They refuse to realize that those decades set the stage for today.

The biggest problem in the market is that boomers are holding on to their houses and not downsizing or moving into elderly communities.

I enjoy walking in my yard, grabbing a fresh ripe peach off a tree in the summer, looking at the flowers and vegetables grow, getting fresh air. I couldn't live without having my own land.

Steam has everyone by the balls. Countless money sitting in people's libraries. Physical discs are practically dead and most people don't want to have a different app for every publisher.

It's interesting to think that there's so much free stuff available and yet so many people still pay for it... But if there weren't a lot of people paying for it, there wouldn't be anything free available.

The countrysides are still beautiful in most of Europe. The cities are all shitty... Then again it isn't much different here. Only they have Muslims invading and we have Hispanics. All things being equal, the Muslims are worse. The major difference is that in Europe, the countrysides have mostly been abandoned, while in the US, the suburbs and rural areas are thriving.

When it comes to voice, current AI models are almost indistinguishable from real people. The main thing is that they're actually too good. They sound too perfect, which few people actually naturally sound like. I'd imagine that it won't be long before a gaming company could feed in a script, have it output the whole thing using various different voices and then just have some people check the output for accuracy and quality.

BadManOrange 1 point ago +1 / -0

Quality is debatable. Even high end stuff breaks so quickly these days. Granted, that could be purposeful because buy it for life means no more revenue, but overall build quality has seemingly dropped over time.

BadManOrange 3 points ago +3 / -0

Funny thing is that short of really great voice acting, super important cut scenes, or comedic stuff, I often just read the subtitles and skip the VA. In this age of insanely long scripts, the amount of precious time wasted on listening to VAs just isn't worth it to me.

I'm a mid-80s baby, loved so many of those cartoons, but while the 80s had so many classic characters, the animation quality was peak in the 90s. You'd see weekly cartoon shows that had almost movie quality animation.

One thing about these days is that big studios are just mass producing computer animated 3D stuff, so 2D gets pretty neglected.

This is probably the answer. We live in a society of people who were raised by fools who live their life pleasure by pleasure with no long term outlook or moral backing. Their kids are the same or worse and live based on their lower facilities rather than using the higher ones.

There obviously are still many people who have successful relationships and marriages, but the majority are a big mess.
