A boy who gets a ‘C-minus’ in Appreciation of Television can’t be all bad.

This is, I think, one of my favorite 'jokes' in the whole book. And having just read 'Stranger in a Strange Land', Heinlen is fantastic at this when he's not preaching at you (and sometimes even when he is.)

This is one of the most annoying changes to me from the book to the movie. In the movie, Dizzy Flores is a chick that's smitten with Rico from his highschool, who he ignores/rejects in his pursuits of Carmen. They literally just made that change to have one more hot, naked chick in the movie and frankly I find it disrespectful, given Dizzy's fate in the book.

People were pinning their hopes on the director, because his last adaptation (or at least the last one I'm aware of) was relatively faithful and a decent movie in its own right. I had hopes until they announced that they had hired a dyslexic casti g director, as Hollywood is wont to do.

You know, as appropriate as that classification is (hyper-capable author insert that's too pure for this world), even when Roddenberry was still alive (actually moreso then) Wesly still failed/had to overcome challenges, unlike most modern characters fitting that classification. I just think it's hilarious that even the creator of the series whose fanfiction spawned the term (from a satirical story) added such a character to his creation.

69m shares outstanding

Nice times a million.

But on a non-memey note, you're probably right in your analysis there.

Mine actually required you to upload a pic of your card as pat of the attestation (or say you haven't had it/decline to share.) I say 'required' not because I've quit/been fired, but because I ignored the requirement as I didn't like the terms they made you agree to for the attestation, and eventually they dropped the requirement to attest and just assumed I'm not vaccinated.

They also recently changed policies on masks to requiring them for all employees in shared areas, and unvaxxed employees have to wear them all the time. Fortunately it appears that continuing to work from home is still a viable option so I'll be doing that until I'm able to find something somewhere without openly hostile policies.

When the title becomes "Proud Boys don't interfere as Portland Police, Antifa battle in streets", it will be a sign that nature is healing.

In the hypothetical situation where the "Deep State" bureaucracy can be removed, what do you replace it with, and how do you ensure that it doesn't simply devolve into another "Deep State" bureaucracy a few generations down the road?

Is this the one where everyone votes for Starship Troopers, but the mods decide they want to do something else, so they lock the thread and have us read... Plato's Apology?

I believe the cops did offer to take him outside. And no, he didn't die due to the cops actions, he died because he overdosed with comorbidities, wouldn't tell the cops what he was on, and the ambulance arrived late.

I wouldn't call 'forcibly resisting being placed into the back of a squad car' 'following orders'.

Disincentives spending/investment. This further dampers the economy and leads to deflation.

For non-fiction I'd like to nominate Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics. The main reason I recommend this is it's (shamefully) the only Sowell book I actually own, but it does a very good job of covering the basic principles of economics in a simple and easy to understand manner, while also going into some degree of detail on the practical effects of varying economic policies and philosophies.

I have a fiction suggestion that I may post later, but I felt like the non-fiction options were lacking at the moment.

I don't know that his race/ethnic heritage was ever specified. He was always some ambiguous brown in that, (hence why I said 'black' in quotes), but I've seen people refer to that version of Luthor as black.

Lex Luthor has been 'black' since the 90's, and unless there's a specific change to make the character more sympathetic, I don't really consider blackwashing villains to be 'woke'. Black Lex Luthor is less offensive to me than Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal.

Have access to children

Does this read like "Get vaccinated o we're taking your kids from you" to anyone else?

You don't need an ark. You know the rainbow? That thing these fags have appropriated as their symbol? That was originally a sign of God's promise never to destroy the earth by flood again. Every time these fags trot it out it's a direct taunt to God.

Now just because He said He wouldn't destroy the earth with a flood doesn't mean he won't use other means. I strongly recommend you invest in some fireproofing.
