Screenwriter and director Steven DeKnight is halting work with Marvel Comics after learning that Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski once pretended to be Japanese to further his career.
“How does this man still have a job? Completely unacceptable,” DeKnight wrote Saturday, beginning a series of tweets in which he eventually announced his resignation. “I love working with Marvel but will not pursue or accept future work until this is resolved. I hope other more high profile creatives in the comic book biz will follow suit.”

This also smacks of cultural relativism. 12 tone equal temperament was a great scientific and musical achievement. Other music systems have no mathematical backing. Some sound objectively worse.

Noticing patterns is part of being human. You do it, too, even if it makes you uncomfortable. You could not function without that capability. No one does.
It's not racist to notice patterns in groups. Being racist means applying those group patterns to an individual and making a judgment based on that when you have other information available about that person that could be used instead.
