Uh-oh, looks like the fascists found this

Making smug, self-righteous, preemptive insult posts before anything even happens is gay fucking redditor behavior you should not be emulating. It's as bad as all the retards screeching about "stormfags" and "conpro" like they're lurking around every corner.

Pro-porn? Or anti-banning adults from doing what they want with their own bodies?

Pro-porn.

Did I stutter?

Personally, I'm not for banning porn, because I think the ban would lead to even worse things than the porn does...and wouldn't even work. Prohibition doesn't work, and is a slippery slope of authoritarianism, generally.

I'll still criticize the, to quote OP, "it's actually healthy for you" retards. Porn sucks, and is unhealthy; anyone defending it on 'it's totally fine' grounds is just wrong. So I do mean "pro-porn" not just "anti-banning-porn," and I think the latter is largely the correct stance, actually.

A good portion of porn traffic is minors. All states are doing is asking for ID and the porn sites themselves are freaking out and blocking IPs.

That's down to parenting: it's not the role of government to regulate children's internet access, especially if it means regulating everybody else's as well.

Any website, every social media platform, forum, search engine or any other site that allows user interaction might potentially be a host for pornographic material. Digital ID laws are a recipe for requiring ID to access the internet as a whole, and that is why governments are pushing it.

Digital ID laws will not prevent children from being corrupted by nefarious actors, but they will be used to prevent you from speaking out against it.

I'm anti-porn. I'm also anti-porn-bans, and I've said this repeatedly.

Porn bans are a foot in the door for ending online anonymity, which in turn rolls back a ton of the progress we've made culturally recently.

As hilarious as it is, I think a "porn ban" would drastically damage the rightwing movement...not because they're reliant on porn, but because a lot of if is online.

All states are doing is asking for ID...

"All." Again, that's massive, and hugely damaging to free speech. Porn bans are an absolute trap, and the people cheering them on really need to look at things, and look at places that have online verification.

Porn bans are a foot in the door for ending online anonymity

That wouldn't be the case if they were supply-side focused. As you said, the current anti-porn agenda is just part of a larger push to expand state surveillance. It doesn't have to be done that way though. It's done that way because the people in charge don't care about effectively combatting porn, only consent manufacturing for their surveillance agenda.

Porn bans are a foot in the door for ending online anonymity

Porn regulation is the foot in the door. An actual ban would have no impact on anonymity. Just a lot of sites being shut down by the DOJ.

But like you say, porn is just a convenient tool. The real intent is the de-anonymization.

The UK is going even further this year by extending age/ID verification to any websites that host anything deemed not "safe for kids". What they all want is a porn/nudity ban in all but name.

Wrong. They want a free speech ban. Ending online anonymity is the endgame. They've just phrased it as a "think of the children" scheme, and people are falling for it.

Especially because they're trying to "prove a negative", which you can only do by proving everything else positive.

The right solution is to mark everything safe for kids "safe for kids". A simple http header "Age-Rating: 12, MPAA(PG-13), BBCF(12A)" listing the ratings categories they are approved for.

Everything kid-aged and marketed to kids like movies, w3schools, etc will get marked and nobody else has to do anything.

How can I be "surprised" if I was calling them out in advance? Dudes that think women on Bumble want to cheat them out of their '07 Hyundai Elantra in divorce court, but that a hooker (especially those overseas) can always be trusted to deal in fair business. Now make yourself useful and try to talk them off that ledge.

I think MGTOW is silly because I believe the risk of dying alone with no family is both greater and more certain walking the MGTOW path than the risk of a bad divorce or dating experience ruining your life is if you pursue marriage.

But it’s retarded to pretend that the two sets of risk you put together are equivalent in outcome. A bad experience with a foreign prostitute is that she gives you crabs or steals your wallet or something. A bad experience with a marriage is potentially years of financial damage and the fallout of blowing up your social life as your friends have to figure out if they’re still friends with one or both of you singly instead of as a couple. Yeah, maybe she “deals unfairly in business” and you get soaked for an extra $50-$100. That’s fundamentally not the same as monthly alimony payments for years or anything like that.

The foreign prostitute simply doesn’t have the same leverage because you’re explicitly using her as a method of keeping sex/women at a distance. That’s the entire point. It does effectively mitigate that risk. When you say “actually, you can get into trouble with foreign prostitutes,” you aren’t exactly wrong, and the conclusion you’re arguing towards is correct, but you’re arguing it in the worst way for the dumbest reasons, because you’re putting literally the only advantage a foreign prostitute has on the table and making the argument about whether her advantage is big or not, instead of pointing out all the important parts of building a family or the moral parts of avoiding prostitution which are the actual arguments against that MGTOW position.

MGTOW brilliantly identifies a problem

And that does need to be acknowledged, yes. But a huge chunk of that sphere are themselves cultists and, not using this as an ad hominem but, yes, 'bitter losers' as someone else said, by definition.

Doesn't mean the game is fair, but they've embraced the loser/victim mentality, which is why I think they can be called that. Doesn't mean they should be dismissed and, as you say, they have good points too...but that movement is toxic sludge.

In before the losers at c/MGTOW flood the comments with "it's actually healthy for you" and "I can quit whenever I want."

Porn is indeed a problem, and many men on MGTOW are addicted to porn, but it's hardly only these men who promote the addiction to sex. Many 'simps' and 'tradcucks' are just as addicted to sex. A strong motivator of their behavior is their sexual attraction to women and they expect or promote other men to be equally driven by sexual attraction.

That's not to say that sexual attract in itself is wrong, but it needs to be regulated by our reason. And many, or perhaps most, modern men fail badly at this. I see it as all part of a continuum - society promotes the idea that achieving sex with a woman is the greatest good a man can achieve. Some foot soldiers try to herd men in the direction of a marriage where the needs of the woman is the main importance. Others promote the idea of 'serving' women with the implied 'reward' of sexual access to woman. Others, having internalized these messages, seek to obtain sexual fulfillment through other means (e.g. porn), and in doing so, make themselves even more open to political control.

The correct path, of course, is for all men to embrace chastity. If this means celibacy for many men, so be it. A wise man once said: Thus, a good man, though a slave, is free; but a wicked man, though a king, is a slave. For he serves, not one man alone, but what is worse, as many masters as he has vices.

Each of us has a calling. For some that many be to marry and have children. For others, it will be to be something else. Sexual perversion and and the inability to control our sexual desires is a sure way to lead us astray or away from that calling.

Embrace chastity, brothers.

Many 'simps' and 'tradcucks' are just as addicted to sex.

Perhaps, but here's the difference: "simps" and "tradcucks" aren't preaching to men that women should be avoided completely while ALSO defending the use of porn exclusively. MGTOW does. MGTOW is poisoning young men, telling them "Don't chase girls, but do watch other dudes fuck girls ... for your safety."

MGTOW is for LOSERS with a capital "L". They're no better than poor college students chanting "Eat the Rich." It's not that they hate the rich, it's that they hate that they're not rich. MIGTOW doesn't really hate women, they hate that they can't get the women they want. Otherwise, why would they watch the same hot women get fucked by other dudes? Why would they advocate dealing with hookers known to drug, rob and kill men?

Their "philosophy" is completely untenable and contradictory, which in turn exposes them as bitter LOSERS.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– ExtraCharger 4 points 1 year ago +4 / -0

There are plenty of inconsistencies in what simps and tradcucks preach. But that's beside the point. The reason "MGTOW" men exist is because modern Western society sets up men to be addicted to women sexually. Otherwise these men would simply go their own way and be celibate monks or similar, and you wouldn't hear from them.

Instead, we have men who aren't interested in (or have decided against) relationships with women, but are still desperate for sex - so we end up with men who can't overcome their addiction and turn to porn, hookers etc. Calling them losers might make you feel all high and mighty, but is (1) a rather poor analysis of the issue and (2) doesn't do anything to actually help.

▲ 1 ▼
– XBX_X [S] 1 point 1 year ago +1 / -0

MGTOW needs to purge the losers in their ranks who have embraced and preach their victim mindset. They can start there.

Women don't owe them their bodies. They call men like me "tradcucks" yet, when asked what their ideal "situation" would be, start painting a scene from the "tradcucked" 1950's. Proving yet again and again that they don't have any ideas or solutions of their own, they're just envious of what they don't have AND are unwilling to go out into the world to find or make for themselves. They're cowards and bitter losers and they don't deserve any sympathy or respect.

The Lord is perfect, The Lord is Great, The Lord is Good. The Lord is all-powerful, and knowing the future and past, knowing all life, the Lord made me a degen, so... That must be part of God's plan. As I fap, I shall have faith that it is according to the great plan He has written out for me, for if He did not want me this way, I would not be this way, such is the nature of the omnipotent, the infinite. The Lord is not a stranger to creating wretches with full knowledge of what they will do, for the Lord made Satan himself with full omniscient knowledge of what was to pass. Porn is half the reason the Internet even got popular. Hell its part of the Internet's very identity. Do not hand the fucking commies the win of overshooting culture too far in the other direction by becoming prude moralfags. Everyone will fucking hate you in ten years, and some Lefty Trump figure will be swept into power and overshoot everything back into infinite gay race Communism.

You've literally LIVED in the fucking middle ground where everyone but the fringe lunatics was content. Porn was kinda all over but also the places it was gathered were tucked away a bit, out of sight of kids who were too young/naive to know how to look for it, and parents policed things to a reasonable degree. Aim for getting back to that state, and don't become a fringe lunatic yourself.

The big issue with pornography is there is little to verify everyone involved is not being exploited. We've seen women who made videos that believed the range of their "work" would be limited to a site, but it ends up everywhere. We've seen Ron Jeremy be found guilty of rape, on legal porn shoots.
