alright Texas. the feds were allowing a harmful condition that was negatively impacting your state, and you took the security of your state into your own hands. the feds are now removing your ability to secure your own borders, and insisting that you go by their extremely lax security to the detriment of your state. what are you going to do about it?
You're right -- it would have been much better if one of the other Republicans had won the nomination and general and appointed her from the same fucking list that Trump used because he trusted the Republican party to give him a list of reasonable nominees.
It was like the Heritage foundation or something. These people have different priorities than most Americans. Represents money anyways, which is usually in favor of immigration. The classic opposition is the masses who stand to lose to it opposed and the elites who stand to gain from it in favor. Kind of like slavery.
So glad we insisted on running him again and attacked any other alternatives!!
To be fair, what were the alternatives? I know some people like DeSantis, and he's done some good stuff, but he's also had some unfortunate run-ins with free speech, and had promised to undo some of the good things Trump did do. DeSantis isn't full on neocon, but there's some crossover. Vivek is great...if you think you can trust him. Haley is, of course, evil. Trump fucked some shit up, no question, but I still think he's the best bet. Which isn't really saying particularly good things about the whole field, to be fair.
A government that does/accomplishes nothing "because Trump!" is a better alternative to a government doing anything because if its not Trump its the Uniparty guy and all they do is accomplish something negative.
To paraphrase (he didn't use those exact terms) he wanted to 'roll back MAGA extremism in the Republican party' or some such. While pushing such 'extremism,' in my opinion, is perhaps the single greatest thing Trump did. Which makes it ironic that DeSantis took shots at Haley by saying "We can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear..." in his drop out speech, when that was one of the things he'd basically said he wanted to do.
I hate to use such Trumpy terms but, "Ron isn't MAGA." He gives nods to populism and putting America first - and I do admit he's better than the classic neocon for sure - but it seems to be mostly lip service. No matter how you feel about Trump, I think he had a good impact on the GOP itself, and DeSantis apparently disagrees. I don't want someone who sees the changing Republican party as a bad thing.

WN circles have been discussing that the GOP would attempt to "rock the baby back to sleep" for years. DeSantis emerged as the candidate best equipped to try that. He failed.
Well next time I'm rooting for Cruz. He was the only one to ever give Trump a real contest.
Some people shit on Ted for J6 or whatever positions, but that's just politics. He's a politician.
The Cruz critics are like people saying Riker was a bad character, well that's cleanshaven Riker. Cruz has a beard now and it makes all the difference. Cruz "Season 2" 2028.
edit: lot of people here don't like Cruz, not a lot of reasons why.
Ok but what's the repercussions of this as if this is the federal claiming superiority over borders, can we use this decision to target sanctuary cities?
They are deliberately misinterpreting the constitution in order to claim federal control of border security so that they may facilitate an invasion. It’s literal treason. If nothing happens here, the country is very much over.
can we use this decision to target sanctuary cities
When Obama was in office, states’ rights was a racist Jim Crow concept. The federal government was supreme and states couldn’t go against that.
When Trump was in office, states’ rights were inviolable. States like California could make their own laws and do whatever they wanted. Trump couldn’t use the national guard to address mass riots.
When Biden is in office, states’ rights lose whenever there’s a conflict with the federal government. The Capitol Police can open an office in Florida and there’s nothing the state can do about it.
If Trump wins, they’ll say he can’t outlaw sanctuary cities because states’ rights. Only time will tell if he can and will hold them to their own standards.
Cops aren't constitutionally obligated to protect or help citizens.
Feds aren't constitutionally obligated to properly defend the border, even though it's right there in the binding document, if they pretend and claim there is no invasion.
Ignore the order, call an emergency, guard the border, arrest anyone who interferes, arrest anyone who tries to arrest you for arresting someone, cope with the escalation and incidentally save the future of all European races.

we're waiting!
Hopefully keep putting up barbed wire and more.
Well, I've heard there were apparently coyotes running amok. Maybe a few bear traps could help.
AACBB: All Amy Coney Barretts are Bastards.
Now we just wait and see if Texas tells them to stuff it. They probably won't, but one can hope.
Another amazing Trump appointee! So glad we insisted on running him again and attacked any other alternatives!! WOOHOO~~~!!!!
ACB, Omarossa, Bolton, his daughter...every swing is a homerun!

What good things of Trump's was Ron promising to undo?

Your boy dropped out. Are you endorsing Birdbrain now?
Obviously the incest shower rapist and brown Hillary are worse than Trump. But will the majority of voters agree with that?
I'm just saying the Trump fetish is stupid.
Present an alternative to Trump or shut up.
There are no solutions, only compromises. Present a better one.
Rule 2 prevents discussion of this topic.
What?
I asked the guy to suggest a different political candidate!
I don't even have a dog in this fight. I don't vote in the USA.
I personally think that Trump is the best chance because he is scrupulously honest and from totally outside the system of graft and bribes.
We did- Ron DeSantis, the best governor in a generation.
A shame he picked a shithouse campaign team that went out and insulted the ever-loving-fuck out of a big slice of his audience.
I am not even against DeSantis, but you could write a book on how not to run a campaign with his example.
So he isn't an alternative.

Barrett is a Federalist Society recommendation. Does anyone criticize the Federalist Society?
There were other better options on the list like Judge Ho of the 5th Circuit. He's Thomas level of based.
People that I like can't get momentum.
His daughter wasn't appointed to that position.
They keep prying the lid off pandora's box, despite warning after warning.
Now you can snip razor wire when you come across it. Or will as soon as someone sues and points to a precedent set by the supreme court.
Fucking idiots.

Interesting times we live in.
This is why I'm not terribly enthusiastic about Trump's second term. He has a propensity to hire and appoint quisling back stabbers.
And looking at all the uniparty goons he still has surrounding him I don't see that changing.
