They also have to be pretty tough to stand up from a lot of threats from a judge and prosecutor. Those are all false threats, but you have to know that. They will tell you that it's illegal to use your own judgement and that you have to explain yourself and negotiate the facts with the other jurors. You don't, actually. But they try to not let people on juries who know that.
Nobody ever calls me for jury duty. I can play dumb really well, and then I would just get in there and refuse to convict for any crimes I think are bullshit or any people I think are innocent.
