Important to remember to introduce nuance like being hysterical, having to link everything to their own personal real life, and being categorically wrong.
Diversity is our strength, introduce more women so we can stop having the conversation dominated by truth and elevate lies out of their oppressed state.
Is it just me, or do all those prominently feature hot, violent, dangerous, often insane and/or criminal male characters? Is this just a massive self-own?
Fight Club and American Psycho were based on books written by men. Any bets on this poster even knowing they're film adaptations of previously existing novels?
The screenplay for Fight Club was written by a man and it was directed by a man. There is no evidence of any female influence in either Fight Club the book or Fight Club the movie.
The screenplay and direction for American psycho were done by women. I'm not sure that really means anything, as it fairly faithfully captures about the first half of the novel.
The novel was written in the 1980s as a critique of consumer culture, which is why Patrick Bateman has these weird interludes where he goes into depth about CDs and songs. It's even more apparent in the book where he describes what brand of clothes everyone is wearing in each encounter, and there are more interludes that talk about things like his CD player.
False. Clearly no man could ever write something nuanced, and men could never understand complexity. Up until women came into the discussion and saved it, those were all just about mindless violence and glorifying sexism and stuff. /s
Every male learned the true nature of women back when they were 8.
No girls allowed.
They force their way into the tree house by whining to mom that it isn't fair. Then she immediately changes the clubhouse rules and begins to decide who else can come in. "AND DONT MAKE FARTING NOISES ITS GROSS!"
Then when they get bored, they go back to their "no boys allowed" safe spaces. Only it's not a treehouse it's a dedicated area in just about every space and institution imaginable. My personal favorite are "wymyn-only" spaces in gyms, yet everyone pays the same fees.
It starts getting nuance because immediately all the characters everyone agreed were clear bad guys suddenly get a lot of "well actually they were just sadbois and the hero is the actual bad guy for hurting them."
I can discuss Denji/Aki's strained family relationship with dudes easily, but involve a girl and suddenly Denji is literally the most terrible awful thing to exist because he annoys Aki (unless the two of them are buttfucking, then she has a different tone for him).
On a serious note I love when sports that used to be exclusively for biological women open up for transwomen. They instantly become more skilled and technical.
It doesn't really happen, because men who want access to female spaces are viewed as perverts, but I imagine males would also ruin female spaces if said space had to cater to their ouside needs.
Nuanced does not equate to better in fiction, nor does "critically thought".
A work of fiction requires the suspension of disbelief because you know it never actually happened. If you're constantly thinking "This isn't real" when viewing media, it becomes tedious.
The point of fiction is to elicit emotions in the reader that makes them want to continue viewing. If the emotions they get are confusion (because things are too complicated and messy, without a satisfying resolution) or shame (because the character you identify with turns out to be the bad guy, or even just pathetic), no one will want to view that media.
One day Disney will figure that out, though these women never will...
You're fucking serious? It's used specifically by dipshits that go out of their way to hate people because they can't get laid. Ignoring the fact they have issues that THEY need to work on. The ratio shift I got there suddenly over night is mighty suspicious Mr. "joined recently."
The only other people that use it besides the military (which is fair, they do do that which is fine) are the sock puppets trying to play up the incel culture to just hate on men.
No it isn't. It's just as word same as woman. It isn't a gotcha to anyone because they will just use it too in time. Seriously reconsider using it, because it does not make you look as good as you think it does.
Don’t forget the people who said it was sexist for Dany to go mad. Also saw a lady attack the wheel of time books because 3 women were in love with Rand. Because there has never been a story where multiple men go after a woman
Because there has never been a story where multiple men go after a woman
That's not exactly a fair comparison. Rand ends up with an actual harem, rather than simply having several options to pick from. Elayne, a literal Princess and later Queen has her twins. Aviendha, possibly ends up still having her 4 children with him who end up so powerful they are constantly channeling all the time. And Min, who is basically his tomboy fuck doll when compared to the others, spends the most time with him out of the 3.
Still, for her to whine constantly about it was annoying. If you want to write a story about a woman with multiple husbands or boyfriends then fine. I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. Moon is a Harsh Mistress has polyamorous group with a female leader. I guess my point would be that if she was offended by that then read something else
What's funny is Wheel of Time is already obnoxiously feminist without any "updating for modern audiences" required, at least in the gender department. Plenty of times a man failed to do something, a woman does it, then even gets a sentence dedicated to how she "smirks" at the guy, etc.
Haha, I read the first WoT book and didn't bother after that since the feminism annoyed me enough to dedicate my time elsewhere. Couldn't even IMAGINE how woke the show was, but based on ratings/viewership numbers sounds like they couldn't resist injecting.
Speaking of Jamie and Cercei, when the show was adapting the books their relationship was one of ruinous codependency and narcissism, and Jamie's redemption arc was heavy on admitting to himself how horrible his sister was. Incest in general was depicted as bad. The Targaryens dynasty bred insanity, Craster was a demon worshipper, etc. But once the show ran out of book material all that went out the window and all the incest was depicted as romantic. The big reveal of who was Jon's mother was juxtaposed with him having sex with his aunt, and when this information was made apparent to the characters none of them were at all repulsed by it.
Important to remember to introduce nuance like being hysterical, having to link everything to their own personal real life, and being categorically wrong.

This is the most consistent and important position in this phenomenon.
Nuanced and Critical Thought = Agreeing with the contrived surface level crap that I read somewhere, probably bolde or tiktok.
Nuanced and Critical Thought = Bad boys are like so totally hot, right?
acp_k2win? Is that you?
He's the only other guy I've ever seen say "gay commies."
Hahahahaha.
Is it just me, or do all those prominently feature hot, violent, dangerous, often insane and/or criminal male characters? Is this just a massive self-own?
Nuanced? Seriously?

Everything in that thread is just proving the original pro-gatekeeping point. Everything.
On a serious note I love when sports that used to be exclusively for biological women open up for transwomen. They instantly become more skilled and technical.
But only slightly because troon men are the definition of failures. Just a failed man is still marginally better.
Women out of male spaces.
This is why the ancient people segregated women and men.
Females ruin male spaces
Japan got it right: Shounen and Shoujo.
It doesn't really happen, because men who want access to female spaces are viewed as perverts, but I imagine males would also ruin female spaces if said space had to cater to their ouside needs.
Know which hobby is still male nerd dominated? PC overclocking.

People that unironically say "female" glow like the fucking sun.
Lmao what? Female is an apt term in the age of hairy cocked males calling themselves "women"

Disagree. Now that anyone can be a woman it's super effective as a term.
No it isn't. It's just as word same as woman. It isn't a gotcha to anyone because they will just use it too in time. Seriously reconsider using it, because it does not make you look as good as you think it does.
Like many veterans I use it to denigrate those unworthy of being called soldiers or even women.
Nowadays it's also handy to use to remind troons of what they're not.
Therapy speak... I like that. Very succinct.

How fucking unrealistic! As if women would take turns letting the alpha chad ride them like a skateboard!
They need to pretend they're the only one.

But that isn’t a fair comparison. Was the first thing that popped in my head.
Min FTW.

Which is crazy because I hear the show was even more feminist
Haha, I read the first WoT book and didn't bother after that since the feminism annoyed me enough to dedicate my time elsewhere. Couldn't even IMAGINE how woke the show was, but based on ratings/viewership numbers sounds like they couldn't resist injecting.

The "aww you're sweet / hello, human resources?" comic is absolutely unbeatable.
But, I mean, obviously Star Wars became more nuanced once we realized that the force was female, right?
