The real question is: how long till they get USS-Liberty-ed?

Yeah, its far more likely that Israel "accidentally" attacks one of the ships from the carrier group.

Or "Hamas" does a 9/11 or something. Oh, no, they attacked America.

I think they'd actually have trouble sinking one. Liberty was a signals ship, lightly defended. IDK if they are sending any of those. A carrier group has defenses.

This is so stupid. The US policies are controlled by Israel, but somehow Israel still needs to sink a US ship to get the US involved in a war.

It's smarter just to ask the US to fire some missiles, assuming they even need the US to fire anything at all.

Policies aren't going to get regular men to throw thier lives away in a war. An attack, like Pearl Harbor for example, will.

Name one time the US has deployed mass troop formations to defend Israel.

Never. Literally never happened. In fact, there are one occasion where the US had infantry deployed against Israel: The Lebanon Crisis (before their civil war).

Bruh, what do you think the last 30 years of meddling in that region was about? Muh oil? Weird how every country we're supposedly raiding for oil is around, but never in, israel

They were all fought for different reasons, but protecting the dominance of the petro-dollar is certainly a reason to go to war.

As for Israeli energy, look for yourself:

  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_natural_gas_production
  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_natural_gas_proven_reserves

They simply don't have much in the way of oil access. They've got better agricultural production than oil production.

It's so low, they only just started exporting oil: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/market-insights/latest-news/oil/021423-israel-makes-first-ever-crude-oil-exports-as-karish-gas-giant-ramps-up

They are energy import dependent.

All these “american citizens” that are missing are likely dual israeli citizens doing military service.

Yeah, I don't want to throw shade at anyone captured (that's fucking horrible and I wouldn't wish it on anyone), but we need to talk about all the weird ways Israel and America interact.

Israel pays for "Americans" to come to Israel and learn the wonders of Israeli ways. Why the fuck is shit like that tolerated? It's literally subversive. Imagine if it was any other country, much less more overt global rivals like China or Russia or Iran. Seriously, imagine if Russia was paying Russian Americans to go and visit the Kremlin, or something. The libs would suddenly be in favor of McCarthyist-style inquests, and in a big way.

Nobody talks about it because the moment you do, you get lumped in with all the other antisemitics.

Its literally the purpose of the ADL and groups like it to make sure if you criticize a Jewish person ever for anything at all, everyone thinks you are criticizing them because they are Jewish and thereby are a Nazi.

America loves to subsidize parasite countries that call themselves our "allies" while trying to subvert us but if any European nation tried half the stuff Israel does, they'd still be shutout.

not the adl, but one of the israeli NGOs ferrying africans to europe:

"Push for mass immigration into their lands"

Or, they could just be American citizens that don't even need to be in military services.

The Biden regime abandoned over 35,000 American citizens behind enemy lines in Afghanistan, and hardly any of them were PMC's or other such personnel.

Er, why ARE they getting directly involved? Seriously this ain't even close to Ukraine. Israel can glass Gaza by itself easy if they adopt the same policy of Hamas of 'they all voted in their leaders so they aren't civilians'

Which not to be a cold hearted bastard (which I am) but kinda hope happens. The two state system has failed and doesn't work when one side literally calls for the genocide of your people (which are unarmed, seriously, they should have as many guns per citizen as Switzerland given everyone who surrounds them wants them dead). So just finish for good now so it's finished.

The US getting directly involved in anyway seems like standard Biden administration overreaction after a fuck up that probably makes everything worse.

There's a solution for that.

Shoot them when they start invading, and deport via helicopter the ones already in the west.

They're getting involved because the Israeli's are getting their asses handed to them. Sure they could glass Gaza, but they're not just in Gaza they're running roughshod over the while country. They've hit fuel depots, radar sites, military and naval bases and I've seen they've even been hitting Tel Aviv and Jerusalem today. Hezbollah will probably be involved as well from the North as soon as the Gaza ground operation starts.

I don't see this as an overreaction, the Israeli's were completely caught with their pants down yesterday.

Hezbollah are unlikely to unless the entire state joins them. There's a massive elephant in the room that puts a HUGE question mark on if others will join in:

ISIS

That was not that long ago and sucked up a LOT of resources and manpower, then Trump became president and they were systematically eradicated. There's still cells here and there don't get me wrong, but that soaked up a lot of manpower and resources that they might not be able to commit to another operation especially if Israel is going to lash out hard to prove a point.

Plus how much does Hamas and Hezbollah get along as a lit of infighting happens between these groups that they might be fine seeing them elimated as a regional power.

They're getting involved because the Israeli's are getting their asses handed to them.

Yeah, not really.

For the most part, this is Hamas being ultra-aggressive, but mostly just doing more of what they've always done: shootings, bombings, rocketings. "getting asses handed to them" isn't even close. This is not the Battle Of The Sinai

To play devils advocate, a ton of Americans were killed at that music festival that was happening over there. So going and parking a carrier off the shore could stand as a show of force.

Now that is not to say I know which way this goes. But I still lean toward us staying out of it outside of our typical current levels. But it is a possibility.

There's a video going around of a white woman with dreads, stripped naked dead after clearly being raped in the back of a truck being stomped on by terrorists.

Some people did some digging and found out she may be a German national on a holiday there. This is clearly an international attack given all the victims, so while you got the 'victim class refugees' cheering in the streets about it, a lot of western countries could be convinced to say nothing, look the other way as Gaza starts hearing mass artillery fire incoming..

And for all of the talk about how this is about derailing the Saudi-Israel deal that was in the works, I dont imagine the Saudis are going to do too much since they have never really cared for Hamas (what with them being backed by Iran and all that).

Hell, if anything they may take an attitude of "If you agree to look the other way (or even help) if/when we go kick the Iranians ass, we will keep our mouth shut as you go be the 800 lbs gorilla rampaging through Gaza."

Sure, you have Leftist trying to give their usual apologia toward Hamas. But for the vast majority of normal people, I think they crossed some lines and made a lot of people willing to let Israel do whatever it wanted.

Gaza is like 15x20km. I don't think you want to drop any kind of nuke on it if you are around there.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 6 ▼
– SoctaticMethod1 6 points 2 years ago +6 / -0

I didn't mean nukes, I meant either old school bombardment by either artillery or bomber planes (if Israel has any not just jets) and just keep going till it's all rubble.

A lot of the issues we have nowadays is because we don't fully commit to a war and only do half measures, if you in a war, commit and ensure total victory.

Internal American and Israeli politics. Lots of Israeli and jewish donors could put money to one campaign or another (though typically they give money to Democrats). Netanyahu's coalition has friends with the Trump campaign, and the State Department is currently aiding efforts to depose Netanyahu.

I assume the attacks are because the Ukraine front is probably failing (I recall Poland was pulling out assistance recently, and McCarthy has screwed Congress on funding for the time being), so the Plan shifted. Hamas' timing was quite impeccable this time, to the point I feel Mossad must have slipped, intentionally or not.

New distractions that happen to involve killing innocent people, as is anything connected to the 5+ Eyes. Remember we still don't have proper answers on the Las Vegas massacre.
