They're getting involved because the Israeli's are getting their asses handed to them.

Yeah, not really.

For the most part, this is Hamas being ultra-aggressive, but mostly just doing more of what they've always done: shootings, bombings, rocketings. "getting asses handed to them" isn't even close. This is not the Battle Of The Sinai
