Funnily a friend of mine (fellow eurofag) visited SF 3 weeks ago and her car was broken in and all of her belongings were gone ... in the secured parking area for the Alcatraz-Tour

I imagine "secure" as a marketing word has the same weight as a seedy motel claiming to be "clean."

Eh, why not. It's like going to the monkey exhibit at a zoo. Shit flinging included.

the difference is that when I go to the zoo, I'm never actually entering the chimp enclosure.

You know, I did that last year -- my wife really wanted to go and one of her best friends and husband were going, so we went.

Yes, San Francisco is as bad as or worse than you've heard. I saw a bumfight within 5 minutes of getting in a car. BUT, for the two days we were there we stayed in a very carefully planned tourist area, and it was fine.

As much as we hate California and their suicidal policies, it is still a beautiful place, and it is worth saving as soon as we can drive all of the snakes out.

I'll also say something a little contrarian and say that I don't despise the SF Mayor... I'm sure she's a progressive and I'm sure she's no one I would ever vote for, but she can at least admit there's a huge problem in her city, and that's actual progress.

That's not unusual. They all admit that there are problems. What's wrong is that they never acknowledge that they are the cause of the problems. It's always somebody else's fault.

All these states around us that allow guns are driving up our gun crime rates!

California is paradise on Earth and we gave it away to communists.

The same is true for most areas of the country, but I don't see anyone lining up to save Louisiana from its erosion problem nor its descent into an actual jungle of monkey fights.

But somehow the one state most responsible for basically all the worst aspects of our nation and the untold suffering that has brought is the one people always line up to try and save.

She looked like the typical black American politician in Democrat-controlled cities; corrupt and incompetent - who got voted into office on a wave of virtue signalling and race-grifting. She was forced to admit that there is a problem, only after things wildly spiraled out of control for years on end to the point where they're comparing the situation to post-9/11 New York City.

I went before covid. Definitely a one and done city and not a place I would walk around alone at midnight. I can only imagine how much worse it got in the last 4 years.

San Francisco would be great for tourism...if they policed the city better and dealt with their dangerous homeless population. There's some abandoned asylums in California, procure a few, fix them up and make them into relocation areas.

You'd need to essentially ditch ALL leftist policies to make San Francisco viable again as like all of California, it's prime real estate under terrible management.

Seriously, what's in San Fran that's "great for tourism"? A bridge?

The bridge, landscape, great weather, historical places like Alcatraz..

The main problem is, IT'S ALL COVERED IN SHIT!

An old friend of mine once said he did the Alcatraz tour thing as a kid with his family ... and his older brother shut him in a cell. It wasn't locked, but I bet that guy still never did anything illegal in his life because of the scare that gave him. 🤣

Of course, that would have been the late 70s or very early 80s, he told me this in the 90s when we were in our 20s.

“Give away the real estate for 10 years”

Sounds like the banks are misrepresenting the value of these commercial mortgages by this scam :

By giving the property away instead of renting it they can pretend the rental income would still be as high as in 2019.

Regulators and shareholders need to be wary of investing in anybody involved in SF. Your shareholding could be wiped out like the banks at the start of the year. (straight to zero)

If someone gifted me real estate in that place it would be a net drain because I'd have to pay property taxes on it and the city is an ungovernable hellhole so there's no way I'd get any revenue from renting it out.

Real estate "gift" next to violent, diverse street-shitters who steal and beat people with impunity is a threat, not an enticement.
