The ability to melt weight away by tweaking biology gives credence to the idea that obesity is a disease.

No it fucking doesn’t you devastatingly stupid moron.

We can kill people with poison, that means life is a disease cured by poison!

You should read the accounts of those who have stopped the drug. Weight piles on with a vengeance. All of those moderated fat cells spring back to life and become bigger than they were originally.

The drug is expensive as well. Tread carefully.

That's probably all built in on purpose.

Why solve obesity when you can make it subscription based?

Sounds like every weight loss "solution" ever: the moment you stop you're screwed.

Might as well go the exercise route. Can't stop that either but at least it has mental and health benefits. Probably cheaper, too.

Exercise will of course help and has many benefits, but cut out the PUFAs (especially seed oils) and processed sugars and the body naturally returns to a healthy size, without having to count calories or anything else. You want the majority of your fat intake to be long chain saturated fats. It also helps to eat collagen, which is the modern way of doing what our ancestors did and eating the bones/skin/eyes/organs/etc.

Solve obesity with drug addiction. Great.

You would think meth and coke already did a good enough job

Yea, that's nothing new. Most girls and women I met that smoked did so to lose weight.

What is it with the modern age trying to solve everything with a prescription?

That's Darwinism in a nutshell. It's a mistake to think that "unfit" (a vague, undefined term that totally depends on the species and circumstances as it is) means "will always die before breeding". The idea is that the "unfit" are supposed to be the oddballs in a healthy population.

But gee, what happens when all the selective pressures shut off, and the "unfit" are allowed to proliferate?

With the population explosion not selecting for quality, you'll eventually wind up with not old people burdening society, but with too many retards who can't even wipe their own bums, let alone maintain a high-tech, civilized society taking up too many capable people who are now too busy wiping the retards' bums to do anything useful.

You are not responsible for how you are. It's a disease not a lack of control of your eating habits or a lack of motivation to exercise.
Not taking responsibility is the disease that we have no prescription for ;)

There is tremendous money and power in it for those who dispense the pills.

instead of putting the fork down yourself

This is the fallout of forcing children to "clean their plate"; more and more people growing up without any kind of internal trigger for fullness. Between that and the current Standard American Diet, it's no wonder why the collective waistline of the West is bursting at the buttons.

Eh, I don't think it's wrong to tell children to clean their plate. It only ever gets a problem when you have no idea how full the plate should actually be in the first place and when you let the kids consume snacks and soda all the time.

I mean, most adults have no idea how full their plate should be. Serving sizes in restaurants don't help either.

Nothing good comes easy. Losing weight is a lifestyle change. All short cuts have drawbacks.

You want a drug? How about a fucking red pill.

Cut out the goy slop. Cut back on the amount of sugar you in. Stop storing food inside your bedroom. Make some changes in your lifestyle. Seek out some therapy, if need be, if you're overeating to find out why.

I’m not exactly at fighting weight right now, but I know exactly how to lose weight:

  1. Use a calorie calculator to determine your maintenance calories based on age/gender/weight/height

  2. Consume a number of calories at least 500 less than your maintenance number

  3. Exercise at least 3 times a week for at least one 45 minutes, combining cardio and resistance training

You will lose 5-10lbs a month until you reach a healthy weight for your height/age/gender, at which point you can switch to a maintenance diet.

Literally everyone can lose weight this way.

Eat all you want, your body will take up the calories it needs, and discard the rest.

I don't think human physiology has a reliable way to simply expel excess calories in real time.

Urine should be free of carbohydrates. Glucose expelled into urine = Diabetes.

Protein in urine is similarly considered to be pathologic and an early sign of kidney failure.

AFAIK, there isn't a smart or variable regulation of nutrient absorption at the level of the small intestine. The gut just cleaves whatever it can into it's most basic building blocks of carbs/protein/fats with enzymes and dumps the smallest nutrient molecules into the bloodstream for other metabolic systems to sort out later.

Fecal waste from the large intestine compromises mostly undigestible components of food like dietary fibre. I don’t believe calories can be excreted this way.

Too true. Cut the sugar and shitty vegetables/seed oils from diet, exercise regularly; most of the health problems in society will miraculously disappear
