Except AI doesn't steal anything. It would be a better analogy if he used their recipes to make a cake that's a combination of all the other cakes. But then they couldn't pretend AI is evil.
The biggest delusion is the loudest people complaining are those who just dog someone else's style. Make no mistake, nobody is asking AI to do art in the style of anyone on Deviantart.
The AI baker would have to actually take the base recipe and painstakingly follow each step.
Bake the cake (lineart)
Do the filling (colors)
Finish it off with frosting (shading)
What the AI baker does is takes a piece of finished cakes, throws them into a blender, creates a hideous glop, and clueless normies get excited while being oblivious off what it takes to make a proper cake.
Yes but what I'm trying to say is that the original art is still intact. AI Air doesn't steal from artists any more than artists steal from each other. The only difference is that AI is very efficient at replicating what artists do, and they're salty about that. But the only artists that are gonna suffer from this are the ones that aren't very orignal themselves because if they were they wouldn't have a problem as AI can't do anything truly original.
AI is an awful idea and I have no clue why any of you are supporting it. Mark my words that it's just going to be used by the government to further suppress any opposition to globalism
it doesn't matter what we think, if it is possible it will be done
so its better for there to be open source and publicly deployable AI that can be used to potentially counter at least some of the harm that institutional AI will cause
AI can be useful in certain situations, it's a tool. The government is gonna make use of any tools to further its corrupt goals as long as it's corrupt. That said, artists crying because people like AI made art is funny.
AI itself isnt a bad idea just like cars aren't. but it's a force multiplier. using AI to make a unique painting to hang up in your home, or make videogame textures to save on resources, things like that? i dont see why not.
but youre right. its not gonna be that. it's going to be Here's Why White People Need To Die, a very convincing argument by ChatGPT3, and Infinite Customized Porn Just 3.99 a Month Now With Auto Masturbator
But you have to consider what intellectual property is being stolen. Claiming their style is being stolen requires they have a recognizable trademark style. Like if people were shown a new unsigned piece by them and they'd be able to identify the artist. Not many artists would pass that test.
It's muddy. Nobody knows it, and it's worse because this tech will be brought up to GenX and boomer judges that are absolutely CLUELESS about how it works.
We're actually moving into uncharted territory, but I personally think AI art is a representation of fair use, because you're taking a bunch of things and making a brand new thing off of it - almost like a parody, but we don't know because someone DID "steal" the data for a lot of these AI art bots from another site and "fed" it into there.
Seatbelt analogy for getting your COVID shot and masking up and shit.
"You wear seatbelts won't you? So why don't you wear masks and get a vaccine to protect yourself?"
Nevermind the fact the seatbelt has a high chance in this analogy of choking you, possibly affect your heart, possibly not even WORKING THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO, and possibly also fucking with your reproductive system and who knows what else out there.
Spike proteins (in the shots as well as the original virus) concentrate in the ovaries. Reproduction rate delta in a nation tracks pretty closely with average doses/person.
The heart is myocarditis/pericarditis (when the spike proteins concentrate in heart muscle and kill a portion of it - those terms are specific to dead/damaged cardiac tissue, not the shot-induced variant of it).
I think the choking is actually a seatbelt-across-the-throat metaphor, not a direct reference to something related to the Pfizer product.
You see, despite how Elon seems to be bringing the fun back to Twitter, it's shit takes like these that get pushed artificially stop me making an account
My aunt's dog has more sense then them and she has the memory of a goldfish.
The last part is what matters. We’re at a point in the culture war where anything that makes your enemies suffer is good. I say this as an artist myself: artists are some of the shittiest people, and watching them squirm around this development is fucking awesome.
So many of these "artists" are young 20-something impoverished fucks getting worthless degrees and preaching communism and idpol agitprop online. If they're commies, they should be happy their work is being seized for the good of the AI collective.
What they're scared of is having to "compete" against an AI. An AI that isn't perfect, that gets shit wrong all the time, and whose art tends to feel VERY soulless.
A lot of AI-generated art has that "I've seen this" before look, and it gets fucking creepy when an AI generates the same piece of art with like, 10 - 20 different variations using that SAME pose.
There's a VTuber I watch - yeah fuck you I know some of you hate weeb degenerate shit but hear me out - she's one of the few females out there that is actually funny (Pipkin Pippa) and she has the same dark, sardonic, and cynical sense of humor most of us do here (plus she hates the ATF and says WACO was a travesty, and loves guns). Anyway - she made a very good point. She thinks AI art is great for getting inspiration or coming up with concepts. She did a stream where she made a fake V-Tuber agency out of AI art and the chat helped her create personalities, backgrounds, etc for each of them. She was using it as a tool for inspiration.
It turned into a mini-shitshow because some autists (autists, not artists, but same thing I guess) in the chat actually took those concepts (she said feel free to do whatever with them) and fucking made VTuber models and shit and one of them even got a girl to do a mock VTuber clip with one of them. Funny shit.
While I am still wary of AI in general, art-wise it should be a wake up call for these D- tier artists - yes, the computer can do it better than you. The same computers and machines that gave you the life that you're living now with automation, convenience, and technology that lets you SIT YOUR ASS DOWN on Twitter and bitch about the AI taking over the world.
The AI is still in its rudimentary phase, and you can kind of tell something is AI generated when you look at how perfect and wrong it looks. AI art is soulless - there's no flair to them. It always look like they were perfectly crafted - i.e. like a heavily photoshopped camgirl. That's why AI art may make beautiful stuff, but it will never be comparable to the way a HUMAN draws because a human's imagination is way more complex than an AI's.
As someone who views beauty as the primary purpose of art, I’m loving AI art. You call it soulless? I call it pure. No retarded leftist messaging or intent. Just raw shape and color in pleasing forms that I choose.
It’s a huge relief to know that AI is going to fuck over everyone equally.
A lot of AI-generated art has that "I've seen this" before look, and it gets fucking creepy when an AI generates the same piece of art with like, 10 - 20 different variations using that SAME pose.
That happens with lots of human drawn art too, some people already sell masses of commissions based on one pose.
"Good artists copy, great artists steal.” - Pablo Picasso (supposedly)
All art throughout history has been derivative, nothing is ever created in a vacuum. A learning model being trained by analyzing the work of other artists is how every artist learns. The AI just is faster, more efficient and less whiny than their meatbag counterparts.
Besides if this 'art' is representative of the artist's work, I dont think they have anything to worry about. No one would want to train their model off such low effort, garbage looking scribbles anyways so twitter art for the troons is probably safe for now.
Tinfoil idea that just popped into my head; what if all this hubbub about AI art is an attempt to "fix" the issue by further shutting down speech, and making intellectual property more all-encompassing and tyrannical?
Because this seems fake and gay; every few years some "new" technology starts making the rounds, and everyone jumps on the bandwagon and freaks out about it.
I'd care if artists didn't have massively inflated egos and grave danced whenever automation threatened another industry. Stings doesn't it? Time to learn some basic human decency, as you're so inclined to say ;)
There's still going to value in the human touch, I'm sure. The issue I think most of these whiners have is that their art is already so rote and soulless that the AI is literally a step up.
I haven’t looked into it much, but haven’t seen any AI art that wasn’t crap. Most is only interesting in how bad it can be, like Trump going Super Saiyan and such.
But let me play devil's advocate and say that this one has a point, at least applied to real artists.
If AI is able to create new art, that's only because so much actual art has been created in the past. You could say that about artists as well. How far would Da Vinci have gotten without Giotto? (pls no bully, I know nothing of art history).
This may be about jobs, and it's not exactly bad if modern-day "artists" lose their jobs. They're not exactly Mozarts and Da Vinics.
One problem with this.
The AI baker would have to actually take the base recipe and painstakingly follow each step.
What the AI baker does is takes a piece of finished cakes, throws them into a blender, creates a hideous glop, and clueless normies get excited while being oblivious off what it takes to make a proper cake.

You mistakenly assume the AI wont evolve. Better to prevent then it is to cure.
The AI can evolve all it wants, an artist can still do original things that are meaningful anyway.
Until AI becomes evolved to the point where it can do original things that are meaningful faster and better than any human can.
Yes it fucking does.
Show me the drawings that have gotten a piece sliced off by AI lmao
Edit: Wtf did he say that got auto-janned? Lmao
How did the AI get the idea to make art? By being fed other people's art. Did other people agreed to have their art fed into AI? No. Case closed.
So If I get the idea to make a painting inspired by someone else's work without their consent I'm a cunt now listen to yourself
Key part here is "making". You just throwing stuff into blender is not a substitute.
Doesn't mean you have to support it
You can't seriously believe the public will ever have access to AI that's relevant
You can't put the daemon back into the box
Not the same thing as supporting it
AI can be useful in certain situations, it's a tool. The government is gonna make use of any tools to further its corrupt goals as long as it's corrupt. That said, artists crying because people like AI made art is funny.

All leftist comics are overly verbose. But the venn diagram between leftist comic and troon is probably pretty much a circle.
Words times infinitity
But you have to consider what intellectual property is being stolen. Claiming their style is being stolen requires they have a recognizable trademark style. Like if people were shown a new unsigned piece by them and they'd be able to identify the artist. Not many artists would pass that test.
There's actually a LOT of discussion around this.
And here's the laws around copyright and AI:
So do I add 'the left can't use analogies' to the 'left can't meme' quote?
The last three years of god awful seatbelt analogies didn't tip you off?
Ok I don't use twitter, I just catch the highlights here and on YouTube
They've been using a seat belt analogy?
Seatbelt analogy for getting your COVID shot and masking up and shit.
"You wear seatbelts won't you? So why don't you wear masks and get a vaccine to protect yourself?"
Nevermind the fact the seatbelt has a high chance in this analogy of choking you, possibly affect your heart, possibly not even WORKING THE WAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO, and possibly also fucking with your reproductive system and who knows what else out there.
Wait, what's this about choking, the heart, and the reproductive system?
Spike proteins (in the shots as well as the original virus) concentrate in the ovaries. Reproduction rate delta in a nation tracks pretty closely with average doses/person.
The heart is myocarditis/pericarditis (when the spike proteins concentrate in heart muscle and kill a portion of it - those terms are specific to dead/damaged cardiac tissue, not the shot-induced variant of it).
I think the choking is actually a seatbelt-across-the-throat metaphor, not a direct reference to something related to the Pfizer product.
Oh, I read that as the SEAT BELT causing choking and problems with the heart and reproductive system.
I must have misread. My mistake.
You see, despite how Elon seems to be bringing the fun back to Twitter, it's shit takes like these that get pushed artificially stop me making an account
My aunt's dog has more sense then them and she has the memory of a goldfish.
Better to be uninformed than misinformed, after all.
The last part is what matters. We’re at a point in the culture war where anything that makes your enemies suffer is good. I say this as an artist myself: artists are some of the shittiest people, and watching them squirm around this development is fucking awesome.
I want the art hoes crying, it makes my dick hard.
Artists on Subscribe Star / Patreon /Whatever will use AI, lie about it, and cry about how they need suppprt because AI is "stealing their lunch".
Oh and artists will constantly accuse eachothers of using AI.
Fun times ahead.
Learn to code, literally.
"Code the gay website, homophobe"
"Draw the furry porn, bigot"
No, I opened a cake factory that produces cakes far more quickly and cheaply than you can. Now you will actually have to be good to stand out.
Using a recipe that averages out the ingredients and cooking time of 10,000 cake recipes.
Yeah, he's a twitter artist alright!

The synthesizer didn't kill music. The auspices of created intentional art will always. Always. Be more coveted than AI.
Art now has a fast food option. That's all that's changed

I assume from how goddamn verbose that comic is that it fails to make a compelling point and consists exclusively of whining.
TL;DR : "Cake factories are opressing me."

'Artists' aren't very useful nowadays.
But let me play devil's advocate and say that this one has a point, at least applied to real artists.

The cake analogy is especially silly considering grocery stores are filled with factory cakes.
Someone needs to make this comic 10x better with ai
Capitalism is good now and communism enabling automation is bad now apparently.
