He'll run, he'll get 100 million real votes, he'll get cheated again, the end.
There, that's your preview of 2024.
Think I'm wrong? Let me put it this way: I want you to do an "I told you so" happy dance on my face every fucking day more than anything.
Someone on p.win posted that he's going to start funding ballot harvesting operations across the country. Possibly just be a rumor.
I hope he does, and then we all get to enjoy the show as he'll be arrested, tried, convicted, and spends the rest of his life in jail because his ballot harvesting is for the wrong side.
He better plan to cross the rubicon ahead of time.
Was anyone really expecting otherwise? Let's just hope he chooses a better running mate this time.
I was hoping he wouldn't, but his ego just won't let him stop.
Trump is too arrogant and out of touch with reality to realize that he has no chance of winning the Presidency again.
No Republican has a good chance nowadays without actually playing the Dem's game and utilizing early voting and mail in ballot harvesting.
I saw his whole speech and it was actually "low energy".
He espoused good policy positions on the border and I loved the part about restoring the jobs of federal employees who were fired for not taking the COVID vax + backpay for them.
Horrifically he still foolishly defends the lockdowns and says they were necessary to save lives.
Lockdown Don as An0maly calls him.
Trump played the old hits of Drain the swamp. He proposed a constitutional amendment for term limits on Congress and banning insider stock trading for members of Congress along with a lifetime lobbying ban for former members of Congress.
Those are great positions but they are never going to happen.
In terms of election integrity, he stated that all elections should be decided on election night and only use paper ballots and mandatory voter id.
That is fine but the how are you going to achieve it without winning under this current corrupt system?
The craziest part is when he praised fucking China for executing drug dealers and suggested we copy them.
Why the fuck would you give them this soundbite of "a quick trial and execute them that night."?
Only good news is that this speech gives me hope that Trump is beatable in a primary. This is not the Chad Trump of 2016 that I was cheering for.
This Trump actually looked pathetic when he complained openly that he is a victim. Yes the glowies targeted him unfairly but saying it out loud makes him look pathetic.
My only hope for any meager chance of a general election victory is that Ron DeSantis runs against him, uses Trump's covid failures against him, wins the first few early primaries and secures the nomination using the early momentum.
Desantis would then need to focus on building a strong swing state ballot harvesting operation to just have a decent shot of victory.
Good news is that Iowa and NH will be terrible states for Trump in the primary process.
Buckle up, the 2024 clown parade has started.
One thing I do admire about him is his stick-to-itiveness. He's been persecuted, prosecuted, silenced, sued, investigated, raided, then decided "ok fuck that I'm going in." That's some moxy right there.
I'd just rather see some fresher candidates with less baggage. I like Kari Lake, Kevin Kiley in California just got elected to the House, I'm still a fan of Larry Elder who has a great presence. With Trump all you get is more Trump.
No thanks on Larry Elder ever running for President.
I think he is a good guy and he is great on policy but the California recall was completely botched once he entered and he made it into a choice between him and Newsom vs just a referendum on Newsom.
I have met Kiley at a local event years ago in California and I think he will do a great job as a Congressman. In the future we will see how far he grows.
Kari Lake would have been a superstar contender for the presidency but the recent Hobbs steal unfortunately has lowered her standing substantially amongst certain members of the conservative base. Some dumb normiecons I know are actually saying she was a bad candidate and that is why she lost. Will be tough for her to run for President before she wins an actual statewide race.
Right now the only viable alternative to Trump for 2024 is Ron DeSantis. A 19 point victory in Florida is the happiest thing for me out of these midterms.
Youngkin has lost points in my book after he sent a hand written apology note to Pelosi after making a light comment about her husband.
We can choose between Orange Man or Florida Man in 2024.
I will take Florida Man anyday.
I’ve said before that my biggest fear of Trump 2024 run is that he will spend a lot of time rehashing 2020. Also his primary opponents would be dumb not to attack him on covid. Like you said in Texas you would have a lot of suburbs not support him and he really motivates the left to vote against him
I fear Trump actually would lose Texas in 2024.
Suburban counties like Tarrant, Denton and Collin will swing blue.
I pray Trump doesn't win the nomination.
Unless they get Matthew Maconochay to run I cannot imagine Trump not winning Texas. It's not really purple. Just a few blue districts that would be blue either way.
Remember that there is also Cruz's senate seat up in Texas in 2024.
Cruz has the lowest margin of winning in a Texas statewide race in 30 years.
Putting Trump and Cruz on the same ticket in Texas in 2024 is suburban poison.
It will either be Beto or McConaughey as the Dem nominee for Texas Senate in 2024, the Dem turnout will be maximized.
I rather not lose the Texas senate seat or lose it in a presidential election.
Same. If he is the nominee I'll vote for him but I'll vote against him in the primary. He had some good policies and they definitely used Covid against him by hyping it up as if it was the black death as well as downplaying the rioting thugs after George Floyd. In Texas what saved him was the south Texas latino swing in 2020. But like you said, the moderate suburban republicans really hate Trump and Cruz. Also with Trump, Mark Davis (has a local radio show) said that people will crawl naked over broken glass to vote against him.
I can understand but if he is the only option? I guess you can just not vote. Who is your preferred candidate?
The very dark grey pill I recently swallowed:
Even if Trump were chosen, unopposed as the Republican candidate, I don't think he can win. He's too polarizing. The "liberal" normies would crawl over broken glass to vote for Goatrapist McBabypunter if he were running against Trump. Absolutely nobody in the country hasn't already made up their mind about Trump.
If DeSantis runs and wins the primary, Trump will either run as an independent, or say the whole thing is rigged, don't bother to vote, and the ForeverTrumpers will listen because they'd follow him right off a cliff. This will cut enough Republican votes so the Dems win.
I honestly think I may have seen the last Republican president elected in my lifetime. Frankly, the Republican party deserves to go extinct, but I don't look forward to living in the world that's coming.
"Goatrapist McBabypunter"? Phrasemaker!
I agree about opinions on Trump. My casual observation here in DeSantis Land is that many of my neighbors want to vote for whoever runs against Biden or his surrogate, because we're all tired of living under this incompetent doddering shitbag's regime and scared to bitch about it in public for fear of reprisal. Many of these folks just assume Trump will be the man going against the D machine.
That's an immediate failure and a great example of not thinking 5 minutes down the road.
All having term limits for members of congress will achieve will solidify the swamp as the people "advising" the congress members will do all the work as you'll have a constant stream of people coming in that don't know the game. The elected official is just the tip of the iceberg.
This is what happened in my state. It really gave lobbying groups and bureaucrats who stay in for decades a lot of power. Had a nice side benefit of getting people in who focus on just getting what they can while they can before they term out. Things like tripling their pay, increasing per diem, nice things like that.
That plus in California, where they have term limits, the politicians play musical chairs with the elected positions. Its the same people, they just move between different jobs.
How so?
What's the alternative? Another RINO? That's hardly better than a Democrat.
Same here.
His talking about women in power pisses me off more than anything else he does. I'm not even necessarily opposed to women in some leadership positions, but someone telling me "We need a woman in charge"? Fuck off with that.
Everybody has to say that now except us.
Someone needs to tell him now that pandering to women did not produce GOP gains.
It's a terrible strategy and if he genuinely believes in it, he's lost his touch.
Dixon lost, Lake lost.
The Melinda Gates funded Republicans need to be thrown out of the party like Liz Cheney.
Trump/Impy1 2024.
Don't lie, you'd all vote for it.
Going up against the DNC's "fortified" election machine is just going to yield the same results. If he doesn't spend the next year or so battling governors to roll back mail in ballots it's going to be another embarrassing blood bath.
The majority of the GOP did fuck with a side helping of all over the past 2 years. Hopefully, the MAGA-backed candidates will actually do their fucking job.
Doesn't matter who runs, the vote is rigged.
Jesus Christ and Santa Clause could be on the Republican ticket for 2024 and it wouldn't make any difference.
I think it's pretty obvious he announced this early because the deep state appears poised to go all in and indict him.
But I doubt they'll let this stop them. The rules have already been thrown out the window and there's no going back.
Orange man is too old to run, but who the fuck else am I gonna vote for?
Florida Man is a good option if he stays true to what he's doing. I do worry that he'll be poisoned by the globalists who are sucking up to him as a way of purging Orange Man.
I fear the swamp controls Florida man. The establishment push is a dead giveaway.
They just want to get rid of Trump at any cost.
They are behind DeSantis for now because they think he is the best option to achieve that.
The only thing the establishment push gives away is that they're desperate to get rid of Trump. DeSantis just happens to be their best bet. I get why people are suspicious. I really do. I just think he deserves the benefit of the doubt until he says or does something swampy.
Remember when he vetoed a law with "it's unconstitutional" and then suddenly all the feminist protests against him vanished?
Don't fucking trust him. Or Rick Scott.
Still remember him trying to pass red flag laws.
If you're talking about Florida's red flag law that was passed under his swamp creature predecessor. He said he would have vetoed it.
Meanwhile Trump supported red flag laws and yet the Trump 2024ers never seem to care when Trump fucks up anything.

I honestly think he announced early because he calculated that announcing would make it less likely that the FBI would try to indict him.
Announcing early is a display of weakness, especially for the guy who used to be the frontrunner until a few days ago.
Announcing late is weakness. You announce late because you want an out if you can't build or sustain support.
Candidates do it late because they can raise money without being covered by election fundraising, and needing to pretend they're not running shows their financial weakness.
Trump has many faults, but you have to work with what you have. Get on the train and enjoy the ride or get out of the way.
Just keep voting harder.
Who said anything about voting?
if he wins, it will be another four years of empty promises while the left further crushes us to dust
Yeah, no fucking shit. Pretty much everyone with more than a single braincell bouncing in their skull like a DVD logo knew he was waiting until after the midterm (now full term, holy shit) election to announce.
mfer is already talking about executing drug dealers. This is gonna be great.
My enemies all desperately don't want him to run, so I completely support him running.
