WOW is pretty done lol. Blizzard pissed off both right and left.
The sexual molestation. The covering up and changing paints of women to fruit. Race swapping existing chars, which breaks immersion.
Lol... i looked at overwatch 2. They made pharah darker.. went from caramel to ashy old hershey chocolate. Sobra is same shade. Baptist is same shade. Lucio is same shade. But for some reason, pharah got darker. Weird since overwatch gonna have a black girl character anyways.

I mean, they solved literally every plotpoint of value in Legion, including bringing back nearly every named NPC for the class halls. They literally wrote their own ending with all the necessary stakes and closure it needed. BFA was just the single loose end of Sylvanas, which nobody but blizzard wanted.

Honestly, to me the most amusing thing about the reveal video was that other than Holly Longdale (who is now in charge of Classic and who worked on Everquest before Blizzard), every single female is either obese or at the very least quite pudgy. Every single male is either muscular or a twig (no fatties).

I haven't had much of a look at the new WoW announcement. The two things I've heard are that the same idiots currently ruining the story are writing this one and that they're adding an ugly new draconic race.
They are also bragging about UI updates and making it fully customizable….. so they are doing what addons have been doing for decades at this point and bragging about it as a feature.
That's most big companies these days. Look at a lot of the content Stellaris has had added recently, it's mostly been QoL/popular mod content that eventually made its way into the game as official material. Except it's sometimes worse versions of the existing mod material that then leads to further mods fixing things yet again.
I was just kind of shocked the amount of attention they gave to that in the new wow expansion though. A whole 6 minute video patting themselves on the back. And nothing they do is probably going to beat the mods. I know I had a specific ui add on for my resto Druid that I would have to turn off for my other classes.
WoW has been doing this for years themselves, though.
Remember Vanilla with no inherent guides for questing? Now there's built in HUD features and GPS markers for that to more or less hold your hand the whole way rather than the player having to <shock, horror> read the quest text which says "Go kill some boars, there's some to the East".
Atlas Loot was extremely popular for multiple expansions and then either in MoP or WoD [I didn't play MoP] they brought in the official version. Which was so much worse and missing a lot of features like wishlists.
Various feedback tools like floating numbers for damage/healing done became built in.
LFG was also a mod in its own ways at times before and after the official version because again the official release sucked. Blizz even disabled some features so LFG mods couldn't work as they originally did like for speeding up world quests by auto adding/joining a group to blitz a world quest area in super fast time.
Decursive is probably one of the mods I remember most for how much easier it made dealing with shit across various classes due to differing cleanse abilities. Would often cause trouble however like when Spellsteal from mages would result in the mage becoming Mind Controlled because of what you stole 🙄
They seemed to really think the dragonrace would be the huge game changer that people would flock over.

I’m not even sure that’s it’s activision to blame for all of this. I think activision is to blame for all the paid pets, mounts, and transmogs. But some of this is just hiring no talent rainbow mafia members which blizzards HR probably pushed for without any goading from activision.
Watch some of the new companies formed by Blizzard alum this June. I saw one of them a while back offering internships exclusively for lgbt(and whatever letters they have added on to it ). Everything after has just been rehashed concepts that have been done to death at this point. At least Argus was the culimination of the Burning Legion story, retconned mess that it was bringing a World Soul in as the reason demons could rez so much, which had been a thing since the RTS games.
BFA after was yet more pointless drama and faction conflict that barely lasted a main patch after the expansion launch and ended up not only pressing the old "In case of emergency/dwindling subs release an actual Old God" button but they then fucked that up too by resolving the release of said Old God in a single patch! N'Zoth should have been the big bad of an entire Old God themed expansion ala The Lich King from Wrath because the Old Gods are that fucking dangerous they've only ever been stopped before because they were never at full power.
BFA was a fucking mess story wise. Pivoting as they did from faction war to naga invasion to Old God apocalypse was bad enough but could have at least been workable if they cut off the last third to make into the next expansion while Azshara was the final boss of BFA and not just a single raid tier/content patch. This is yet again a huge lore character who was fucking wasted because the modern WoW devs are so bad at writing they burn through the game material in record time than get left making shit up [Shadowlands] and retconning in what amounts to fanfic level ramblings that still make no fucking sense!
Now Blizz have again pressed an emergency lore button by bringing back the Dragon Aspects who haven't really been seen since the end of Cataclysm, except Ysera who fucking died in Legion! These are npcs who said at the end of Cata "the time of Dragons is over, now is the time for mortals" and when Blizz ran out of ideas they walked that idea back and are now treading yet again old ground that was done, dusted, archived, and locked away in the library.
The library that modern Blizz has broken into, ransacked, pissed on, set fire to, and then told people to point and laugh at.

Thank god I made Diablo II Resurrected and Diablo III the last games I'll ever buy from these clowns. With an apparent Troon writer LITERALLY named Troon, I don't think we'll ever see something as rich as Diablo 1 and 2 or as epic and bleak as StarCraft 1/Brood War ever again.
