Is troon a banned word in Reddit, because I just got suspended for 7 days using that word.
Nothing is explicitly stated, but I assumed so.
It's from SomethingAwful. SA users call themselves goons. Trans SA users called themselves troons. Trans + goon.
Eventually that word became a slur because the troons were, unsurprisingly, obnoxious and universally reviled. It is also unsurprising that SA had so many of them that they felt the need to invent their own word for themselves.
It's a reshuffle of 'tranny groomer', not 'tranny coon'.

I've seen it referred to as "tranny gooners" as well so it's possibly a few different things depending where you check.
