With a lockdown, mask mandate, vaccine passports and 85% of everyone in the province vaccinated, cases in Quebec are at new highs — up 1,855% since vaccine passports started & 7,376% since the mask mandate I don’t know why it didn’t work when it hasn’t worked anywhere on earth (media.kotakuinaction2.win)

The most hilarious part is all those vaccinated, who took the vaccines to "Get their freedom back", being all surprised about this. We fucking told you hundreds of times.

It's the same with gun control and the so-called war on drugs. The goal of the latter was always to have the police be equipped on par with the military, and it has succeeded. The goal of the former is so that no one can fight back against the latter.

Yep. Path of least resistance. Same reason it takes about five minutes after a dictator is installed for the overwhelming majority to happily assist the regime in slaughtering its own civilians. It's easy to be a traitor, it's hard to be a hero. Most people have no actual morals or ideals, they just don't want to be forced to think. Whoever promises a life of brainless docility is who the people will follow.

I think a lot of it comes from the internet, and “call out” culture…

If no one you know is willing to step up, and the internet (social media, mainly) suppresses you from seeing anyone else standing up, and anytime you do you get censored, shamed or even arrested… I imagine that contributes to the bizarre culture of enforced compliance we are seeing in many places…

At a guess.

It is odd, though, because even in fairly… Similar, neighboring countries and states, you can have completely different behaviour (Japan vs Taiwan and Korea; Poland and Slovakia vs the Czech Republic and Germany; Paraguay vs Brazil and Argentina; arguably even Mexico vs the rest of North America)…

Bizarre, frankly. 🤷🏻‍♂️

People are sliding right back into that shit down here in Houston... its worrying to an extent, at least Abbot has something resembling a spine though. But the retards are trying to whip everyone else up into a frenzy again and going "oh i just left a covid den" or "X place has covid testing kits!" Like come the fuck on, its over, give it the fuck up.

Ah, Quebec, where, instead of the "envelope being pushed" (like San Francisco claims), they have nearly always gone out on a limb to be as stupid as fucking possible, and outpace the rest of the world in stupid shit... (Yes, yes, same goes for Frisco, but at least SOME good shit happened there, back in the day).

No wonder Turd-row Senior came from there (horrible man, in case you were wondering... Just look at Turd-row Junior's wiki page. No wonder he is such a fucked up little shit), honestly...

Again, because this is something I weirdly know a bit about, here are three (!!) other examples of vanity project airport clusterfucks:

Narita in Tokyo, the new Istanbul Airport, and Willy-Brandt in Berlin. Also Denver International has a tonne of problems, too, but I don't think that is quite on the same level...

Also, the entire Kazakhstan capital city has pretty much the exact same problem. As does the Burmese capital...

How the fuck this KEEPS HAPPENING, all over the world, in both "democratic" and non-democratic states, I honestly do not know. shrug

You would think bureaucrats would learn, but clearly... Nope.

How the fuck this KEEPS HAPPENING

A whole bunch of independent actors following their best interest in the utterly broken system which our media friends like to call "liberal democracy" and which has more bureaucratic bloat and allows for less freedom than 1980s Czechoslovakia.

It's why electing someone like Cheeto Hitler or Ron DeSantis or Maxime Bernier or Jair Bolsonaro or Eric Zemmour doesn't work. The entire system is irrepairably broken and it can't be saved no matter who ends up being the figurehead.

I think that's a cope. "I had no other choice!" - No, everyone always has a choice, we're not controlled by our surroundings, we're not a metal ball in a pinball machine just bouncing around, or a piece of trash being blown about by the wind. Again, yes, there are shady elites, but we're not literal puppets; by "we" I mean every single human being. I know I'm not one, and I expect everyone else not to be one either, including the bureaucrats who make the current system work by letting themselves be manipulated. They're failing to say no, and I hold that against them.

No, I'm not uneducated; you can't really be, because government forcing you to do something is not exactly a concept one needs an education to grasp.

Here's the thing, though: Completely avoiding government-issued currency is incredibly difficult, the pressure to use it is very strong, so I don't really fault people for doing it. I do it too. However, being a bureaucratic piece of shit, hiding behind laws and regulations and using that to excuse your laziness or pettiness - not doing that is very easy, it even comes naturally to normal people with character and a functioning moral compass. There are worker shortages all over the world. Nobody has to work for the government - and the people who do can always bend the rules in the little guy's favor. The problem is, most of them don't. That's solely on them, it's their fault.

The rest of your post about starting your own currency and getting arrested for it is just completely wrong. No, you won't get arrested and/or killed if you start your own currency. There are new shitcoins being made every day! What's really going to happen is that everyone will laugh at you. The government will only start caring if it becomes big enough to threaten them, and that's not going to happen, because even BTC isn't big enough to threaten governments, despite being so mainstream that my nearly 70 years old, computer-illiterate uncle has heard of it.

But it turns out, beyond the reflex contrarianism wrt language, Quebec fell in line with the globalist narrative just like everyone else if not more so.

I'm surprised they wouldn't advocate for putting the capital in Quebec City.

Montreal is still very cosmopolitan with sizable Anglophone and Jewish populations.

Quebec City is much smaller, but is much more "pure laine" Francophone if you were trying to establish an ethnostate.

I really want to believe that the “vaccines” are at least as somewhat effective as they state and that they're following SOME semblance of science - (no, I'm not vaxxed)

But stories like this only seem to lead to the conclusion that our leadership AND scientists are nothing more than morons at best and this is a global attempt to enforce totalitarian control at worst.

My state is now showing that 1/3 of the population has tested positive and about 2/3 are vaccinated and yet rates of infection are at an all time high (and includes my anecdotal evidence - last year this time I knew of 2 families that had it. This year its 8 and they've all been vaxxed (except the youngest children) (including my leftist twit families that refused to go anywhere or see family last year but this year are all out and about because they've been vaxxed... yeah, they got it... but it wasn't bad so it was good they were vaxxed!) So what's that mean?

Well.. to quote Sherlock Holmes... "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"

Oh - I’ve suspected it as soon as they announced a nationwide lockdown which has NEVER been an attempt to stop a viral spread in any history book or even a contingency/preparedness plan except as maybe a last ditch effort.

There’s also the part of going along with your society - we’re not communists or sheep but we are an organized body of people that have to work together and we don’t have all the information that the leadership has (and that’s another red flag - but that’s also typical of all crises in the short term - but this constant squelching and in some cases flagrant and violent censorship of counter info is frightening in a supposed free society)

So yeah - I’ve been calling BS the whole time but the truth is readily becoming apparent and verifiable.

Bad news for the Branch Covidians looking for a "safe space" in Antarctica away from the "dirty unjabbed":

Masked, jabbed, isolated, quarantined and tested 5 times + Antarctic research crew just had an outbreak of WuFlu sweep their base.

They immediately tested the person with a sniffles with positive result, then the whole staff for 2 more infected, which they sent back home swiftly, at astronomical cost for sure, to "contain the cluster". It didn't work. By the time the writer of the article wrote, 2/3 of the base had it already.

This was the response from opposition parties when weakly complaining aboutbthe curfew.

They claim if the government had locked down sooner, we wouldn't need a curfew... so they would also impose one since the sanitary circus dosen't significantly reduce the spread.

It's brain-killing to listen to them say that we wouldn't need a lockdown... if we locked-down sooner.

Idiots.

A single small party has firmly positioned itself for ending all sanitary circus and you can guess how it has been treated by the mainstream media.

So is canada locking down again? I remember the leaked email from the pmo about the stages towards the great reset. One of the last steps was cases would surge. After that Canada would become Australia 2.0 with covid-camps. The final step is forcing Canadians into the debt forgiveness program. If you refuse the leaked email explained being locked up indefinitely under a public health risk.

Australia tried that

didn't help

It very much did help. To date, Australia has recorded just 2,252 Covid related deaths. That's 87 per 1 million of its population.

In contrast;

US - 846,905 dead - 2,536 per million

UK - 148,624 dead - 2,172 per million

France - 123,741 dead - 1,889 per million.

Obviously, you can take all of these numbers with a massive grain of salt, but my argument is losing the unhealthiest 1-2% of your population is preferable to destroying the livelihoods and futures of the surviving 98%.

I don't feel the need to pretend lockdown doesn't work. I am content to look at the numbers and say that lockdown is immoral.

Did you ever consider that other factors might be at play, here..? Like, say, being an island, with fully closed borders? Or the weather? Or the population distribution..?

Come on, man, the UK had lockdowns, too. Not quite as strict as Melbourne, or as long, but your logic is completely bullshit, and I think you know it, too.

Sounds like my state.

Tbf, I visited multiple Aus states during this, pre-Delta, and really… It was only Vic that was completely insane. QLD second. Sydney WAS (not is, now) nowhere near as bad.

So… Melbourne is not (all of) Australia, in the same way that… I suppose London, or Brum, lol, is not (all of) the UK.

My state was exactly as you describe, for nearly eighteen fucking months, EVEN WITH people dying…

Then came October, and shit went off-the-charts insane, and yet no-one had died here in the entire year prior, and no one has died here (of coof) since. Not one.

Yet we have had TWO lockdowns in that time, vs the one prior. Plus “extreme social distancing”, plus curfews, plus masks, plus mandates. But I suppose it “prevents deaths” according to you, so it’s all worth it, hey..? 🙄

It’s all completely, completely insane.

The whole point is that you are wrong about what “worked” in Aus, and you are twisting the numbers to suit your narrative, which is murkily close to the state-ist narrative…

Lockdowns DID NOT “reduce Australian deaths”. Several other factors, including simply when the virus hit, physical geography, and being a fucking island, in the middle of nowhere, probably did. But not fucking lockdowns, no matter how you might try and swing, or how you might tell me “but I don’t support them, I swear!”

You’ve already admitted that they aren’t worth the cost. I’m trying to tell you that they DO NOT WORK, either.

I will at least give you this: you seem willing to admit that, even if these lockdowns, and abolishing all in-person contact forever, DO work (temporarily), the cost is too damn high…

Because, see, I, for one, categorically cannot live like we did in lockdown, forever. I would literally rather die. I know I’m not alone in that. So if the cost for “preventing deaths” is destroying society to the point where it no longer functions, and causing us all to no longer be able to do ANYTHING in person..? AND cracking people’s skulls, as you explained, if they resist, in enforcing it..??

I think even you can admit that would NEVER be worth it, even to “save grandma” or however this shit continues to be “justified”…

Not just that, but the way I see it, unless the whole world does it - which they haven't - all the heavy-lockdown states like Australia might really have accomplished is delaying the pandemic in their territory to a later date.

Even if they manage to virtually eliminate the virus in their country, whilst the virus is endemic overseas, they're in the situation where the second they open their borders again, they'll have to deal with the virus again.

Something like 71% of the UK population has covid antibodies in them now, either through vaccination or some degree of low-level infection. I don't know what that's like in Australia, but according to https://www.mja.com.au/journal/2020/seroprevalence-sars-cov-2-specific-antibodies-sydney-australia-following-first, in november last year, it was just 1%.

If the vaccine antibodies prove useless against a variant with the same fatality rate as delta, Australia's lockdowns will have succeeded only in delaying the inevitable, at great cost.

I think even you can admit that would NEVER be worth it, even to “save grandma” or however this shit continues to be “justified”…

I never, ever thought grandma was, statistically, worth saving. She'll be dead in 10 years anyway.

Masks don't work unless they're sealed, have an air filtration system and you never touch them. Even N95 masks provide very little in the way of protection unless used in a sterile environment:

  • https://academic.oup.com/cid/article/65/11/1934/4068747

There have been studies about this from decades ago showing that standard cloth masks don't work to reduce the spread of influenza-type diseases because they don't filter out the particulate matter, especially if they're unsealed: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/15459620903120086

Here's the results from one study done back in 2010: https://academic.oup.com/annweh/article/54/7/789/202744

Common fabric materials and cloth masks showed a wide variation in penetration values for polydisperse (40–90%) as well as monodisperse aerosol particles in the 20–1000 nm range (40–97%) at 5.5 cm s−1 face velocity. The penetration levels obtained for fabric materials against both polydisperse and monodisperse aerosols were much higher than the value for the control N95 respirator filter media but were in the range found for some surgical masks in previous studies. Penetrations of monodisperse aerosol particles slightly increased at 16.5 cm s−1 face velocity, while polydisperse aerosols showed no significant effect except one fabric mask with an increase. The penetration values obtained for common fabric materials indicate that only marginal respiratory protection can be expected for submicron particles taking into consideration face seal leakage.

And here's a study specifically related to healthcare professionals wearing masks in Japan: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19216002/

The results...

Thirty-two health care workers completed the study, resulting in 2464 subject days. There were 2 colds during this time period, 1 in each group. Of the 8 symptoms recorded daily, subjects in the mask group were significantly more likely to experience headache during the study period (P < .05). Subjects living with children were more likely to have high cold severity scores over the course of the study.

Face mask use in health care workers has not been demonstrated to provide benefit in terms of cold symptoms or getting colds. A larger study is needed to definitively establish noninferiority of no mask use.

TL;DR For public use, unless you're wearing a fully sealed mask that you NEVER touch, masks don't work.

Early data from Asian countries had a double correlation. Skinnier and masked nations had less problems than fatter, maskless nations.

When the virus swept Europe and North America, once, twice, thrice, mask mandates did not have this correlation to lower infections and fatalities, because it couldn't ride on the back of the actual factor in the initial results from Asian countries: it was obesity.

WuFlu is more effective at infecting respiratory tract cells and adipose cells. Obese people have a much, much higher viral load than skinny people. So more spread and worse symptoms for fatties. Fat people also synthetize less Vitamin D, and low vitamin D is a huge risk factor. So much that ewrly treatment with high doses of Vitamin D lowers hospitalisations and mortality significantly.

When compared to the US, Mexico, most of Europe, etc, Japan has an extremely low obesity rate, and their fat people are nowhere near the level of "fat" you picture when thinking about obese Americans.

Case in point, for 2021, Sweden has the lowest excess mortality in Europe and there never was a mask mandate or lockdown there ( they shut some schools and very large gatherings for a few weeks at some point, that's about it ).

If masks and lockdowns had a significant positive impact, Sweden would not be sitting near the bottom of excess mortality for 2020 and at the very bottom for 2021.

Other places (Africa, India) are densely populated and don't wear masks and number of cases is low or unheard of.
