I've said this before, and I'll say it again.
I cannot envision superman as anyone other than a light skinned man with straight, black hair, with a side part.
That's been his design for nearly three times as long as I've existed.
I wouldn't make him blonde, I wouldn't make him ginger, I wouldn't make him asian, I wouldn't shave his head. I would not change any essential element of his visual design, because there's simply no need to. Doing so at this point is not reimaging superman, it's putting an impostor in his place.
The front of his hair also ought to curl into an "S" shape over his forehead.
He'll always be a based part-Korean to me after the Lois and Clarke series in the 90s.
As soon as I read that Ta-Nehisi Coates was tied to the project I knew it was going to be a racist shit-show. Even if they specifically say it's going to be Earth-23, you know his race-baiting ass is going to be making this the BLM of superhero movies.

Abrams makes shit tier movies, and when based off of successful IP from decades prior result in a soulless adaptation that retains none of what made the IP good in the first place. It's just an IP in s skin suit.
Any movie with his name on it is firmly on my do not watch list.
Ahhhh, they will drop Henry Cavill, a handsome, well-built, seemingly extremely sweet guy who respects his fans. Then they get some rando black guy with a fraction of his charisma and if you say you don't care for him, they will just blame racism.
The audience can't get attached to someone just because you order. Big name creators still don't understand that. It takes us time to get that connection. Same goes with the fictional characters themselves.
I find it funny how out of touch Hollywood people are with what makes humans feel feelings. They sound like a bunch of lizardmen, being baffled by human emotions, desperately trying to work us.

Will they choose an annoying sounding British man, completely contradicting the concept of Superman growing up in America, or some city-raised basketball-American that will litter the script with slang and ebonics that only the most astute of mumble rappers would be able to decipher? I don't mean that English accents are annoying (except cockney), just that Superman should never sound anything other than average middle-American, like Bond should never be anything other than a proud Briton. I would happily watch a small skit of Superman with a Yorkshire accent, though. I'd have a good laugh at that.
At least change it to Superperson, that would be more hilarious then black superman.

DC had a black version of superman years ago, he was called Icon. It flopped and Icon was forgotten. Nobody asked for it.
The lesson here is that it's no longer enough to give them something they might think is good, it has to be taken away from whites in order to count.

Superman had always been a Jewish power fantasy
There's no poison in the genes carried by Jews. The toxicity exists in the memes associated with being "Jewish" - whether that is a religious or cultural sentiment.
Christian Jews integrate into Christian societies. They contribute just like any European would. The moral license and persecution complex associated with "Jew" as an identity are what produce the Dr. Evil-level Jews that people object to, and those can be erased or offset with the proper memes.
