It's almost like Wicked is fan fiction someone wrote as an Oz prequel, without giving much thought or care to the original characters.

Pretty much this. It is pretty much indisputable that social media is heavily detrimental to child development. But, this type of thing will also result in greatly increased govt monitoring of people online, and corresponding decreases in anonymity.

I'll be the heretic. I actually enjoyed 3. Never played it (or any RTS, really) in a PvP multiplayer format, and can see potential issues there depending on home city levels, but the way artillery in 3 is very satisfying.

They were announcing no DLC plans back in September. Now, maybe they were already assuming it would be awful in terms of sales (which if they were looking objectively they should have been able to) but regardless of reason for an EA-owned property to announce no DLC plans a month before release is just crazy.

Beat me to it. If nobody mentioned at least the older Asterix (haven't looked at any of the post-Uderzo ones), I was going to have to start throwing Menhirs at people.

Another thing with this is EA said that they had no plans for DLC. A good DLC drop can boost player interest and numbers, and is usually a chance to get some comparatively easy money. But it sounds like they won't even get that.

And, as we saw with the election, many people utterly reject those token conservatives almost as much as the democrats. Still have no idea why Team Kamala thought that Dick and Liz Cheney would be a good endorsement to tout.

Guess mine have, given that I had basically zero opinion on him prior to the nomination. But, his handling of the media over the last couple months has warmed me up to him quite a bit.

I'm upset, but for opposite reasons for Reddit.

There was some talk a few days before the election that Ron Paul might get involved with DOGE. I want to see that happen, both to be able to spam "It's Happening" memes everywhere and so the poor guy could directly participate in one thing he wanted for decades starting to come to pass. Hopefully he still gets to participate a bit.

It's not about the amount, it's about sending a message. Both to other game devs who might try the same thing, and to Sony who partnered with PocketPair to try to grow the Palworld brand.

New FreedomToons video with a salt compilation, Anti-woke Dog and his friends? Nice!

There is simply too much history and love between us to let this election tear us apart.

Yeah, about that. Pretty sure it is torn apart. In the span of less than a week, you told him you don't want anything to do with his family, you've berated him multiple times over a facebook post (initially with a text message), and now you've written and published a full-length essay about how good and noble and strong you are and how inconsiderate and heartless he and half the country are.

just because one exceedingly suspect asshole convinced the government to do it without actually running tests on the long term effects.

If we go by that logic, 99% of government actions should be stopped. Not that I'm opposed to that, of course, but just pointing it out.

a) This is beyond stupid. Where do people think butter comes from?

b) Once again, journalistic hatred is insufficient.

On November 7, the FDA classified the recall as Class II, which means it is "a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

and a couple paragraphs later

"The symptoms and severity of allergic reactions to food can be different between individuals and can also be different for one person over time," the CDC added. "Anaphylaxis is a sudden and severe allergic reaction that may cause death. Not all allergic reactions will develop into anaphylaxis and more than 40% (2 in 5) of children with food allergies in the United States have been treated in the emergency department."

Why bother with the anaphylaxis section, given that "the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote"? And if someone lactose-intolerant bought butter, then the stomach issues they have after eating it are an individual idiot tax.

Well, thanks for proving Trump correct, as he's repeatedly said that he's the only thing standing between the elites and the average US. Also

Trump’s reelection means the end of the Pax Americana.

Good, why are we paying for the security of half the world?

Under U.S. leadership, the postwar world order had a stellar record of preventing major conflict.

What on earth are you smoking, nutjob? Sure, there may have been no hot world wars since WW2, but I recommend you consult the list of countries where the US has toppled governments and tell me how great US leadership is again.

Those of us who clung to it, foolishly, are now strangers in a strange land, exiled inside a country many of us are destined to no longer feel fully part of.

That is because I literally believe we do not have a country anymore. A country requires borders, which have been fully ignored. And, more importantly, a country requires a unified culture, which the wokes have spent the last two decades destroying.

From the second post on the first link:

It's a longer game, but getting more of them into college would be helpful. It exposes them to more ideas and creates more stable opportunities for financial success.

Well, maybe if you hadn't spent the past 3-4 DECADES insisting colleges focus on recruiting women, and establishing women-only scholarships/spaces, and pushing men OUT of college then you wouldn't have to say stuff like that.

This would be done by making college cheaper and more accessible for everybody.

Lol, still clueless. I'd start by making it so half of college is not worthless fluff gen ed classes and firing half (or more) of the administrators.

  1. With the latest update (that broke the script extender and a bunch of other mods), one of the big things they announced is "we made several of the mods there free! It was Enclave armor, and Enclave was mentioned in the TV Show!"

  2. There are virtually no quests in the Creation Club shop. Oh, sure, "technically" there are, but pretty much all of them are "go to this location, kill one enemy, get item". Or, if they're really complex, maybe you'll have to go to two or three locations. As far as I know, there's no quests out there that have any semblance of story or anything remotely complicated to them.

I'd love to see it, but I'm highly skeptical. The EU government(s) are too power-mad, both now and for the last couple thousand years.

Well, the fact check is no longer blank. But, it the equally useless "Similar to another post reviewed by third-party fact checkers."

Of course, they don't tell you what the other post is, or why the other post was judged false, or who the "third-party" fact checkers are. Or what color the fact checkers hair is or whether or not the fact checkers have septum piercings.

Remember the "I would rather run into a bear in the woods than a man" thing? Male govt employees can go to Adak Island, female govt employees can go to Wainwright then.

I'll agree that Trump is a loudmouth at times, and is rough around the edges. (Just like many people who grew up and lived in NYC.) But I'm beyond done caring about it given that the other side is worse about it.

This past weekend, my own governor called me and 44.2% of her state "anti-American" Joe Biden called anyone opposed to him garbage. The media spent months now shouting Trump and his supporters were fascists. You can't go online without people shrieking about Trump supporters being maggots and people misspelling Trump's name to insult him. In some places, you can't show any support of Trump in public without risking a literal beating.

But, by all means, claim moral superiority by voting for a candidate who got her start in politics by being a literal whore, who kept people in jail in defiance of the Supreme Court so she could send them to fight wildfires, and who promoted a fund to bail out rioters who helped cause $500 million of property damage in Minneapolis and up to $2 billion of damage nationwide.

What's the saying from back in BLM days? Your jeers mean nothing to me anymore, since I've seen what makes you cheer.

The Usual Suspects(tm) will just do more of the same (and likely harder) undoubtedly. Hopefully most of them get Concorded, Disneyed, Budwisered, etc.

What we need to do now, though, is grow and build. The election means some time has been bought, but to take advantage of that we need to offer and support alternatives. Get Woke Go Broke is all well and good, but we need to make sure Get Based Get Rich (I know it's terrible as a slogan) also takes off.

3
ailurus 3 points ago +3 / -0

Well, what's the old saying? You can judge someone by the quality of their enemies? The freakouts from celebrities, journos, dem politicians, and internet jannies alone make siding with Trump seem like a good idea.
