It went basically unmentioned as usual, but today is International Men's Day. So, might as well recognize it here. Happy International Men's Day.

Turns out that there is now a German arrest warrant out for a Ukrainian diving instructor who is thought to have helped blow up Nordstream. And 2 other Ukrainian diving instructors are people of interest.

Of course, the Guardian being the Guardian has to say

It remains a mystery who was behind the explosions that destroyed three out of four pipelines, which became a symbol of German reliance on gas from Russia after its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, and Russia and the west have accused one another of being responsible. Each has denied involvement.

No, no it does not. I've yet to hear one valid reason from anyone as to why Putin would sabotage the pipelines when he can (and I believe did) just turn them off. And now there's an arrest warrant for one Ukrainian, at least 2 more are being investigated and you STILL say "oh, we don't know who did it?"

So, came across a video on the Trump assassination ("Why the Trump Shooting is Much Worse Than You Think) and decided to take look at it. And what did Google do? Attached one of their little "Disinformation" blurbs to it. Saying:

Wikipedia • On March 30, 1981, then President of the United States Ronald Reagan was shot and wounded by John Hinckley Jr. in Washington, D.C., as he was returning to his limousine after a speaking engagement at the Washington Hilton.

Internet Archive capture of the note, and a ton of comments on the video refer it as well.

Doubt this will come as a surprise to anyone but as far as I can tell the Pope has remained completely silent on the disgraceful opening ceremony to the Olympics, despite multiple condemnations from other Catholic Clergy

Archbishop Vigano (or I guess officially former Archbishop now) however did put out a very strong statement and call to action that I think a lot of people here - religious or not - will mostly agree with. Some excerpts

Tolerance cannot be the alibi for the systematic destruction of Christian society, a society by which billions of honest and hitherto silent people identify themselves. This prevarication must end!

and

It is therefore necessary for Christians to organize around the world with concrete actions, first and foremost with a boycott of the Olympic Games and all their sponsors. It is equally necessary for companies not subservient to globalism to revoke their sponsorship contracts, and for delegations and individual athletes to withdraw from the Games, which were inaugurated under the worst auspices.

Plus, one fun little line slipped in there that should entertain everyone

It is no coincidence that the one sponsoring this revolting carnival is an emissary of the World Economic Forum, Emanuel Macron, who passes off a transvestite as his own wife with impunity, just as Barack Obama is accompanied by a muscular man in a wig.

We need to get Vigano made Pope somehow.

You need to scroll down a bit in the archive, but

167 Cong. Rec. H1747 - BORDER CZAR KAMALA, Congressional Record. Mr. LaMALFA. April 14, 2021

Viewing the linked PDF:

Mr. LAMALFA. Mr. Speaker, weeks ago, the Biden administration made Vice President KAMALA HARRIS the border czar....

So, all the media outlets are not only contradicting themselves but they're contradicting 3+ year old congressional record.

For the upcoming Summer Olympics, Paris decided that, for the sake of Climate Change, they were not going to be installing Air Conditioning in the Olympic Village, but instead use fans, pumping cold water, and other methods for cooling.

In response, at a minimum the German, Australian, Italian, Canadian, British and now American all said "Screw that, we're just going to bring our own portable AC units with us"

Apparently the governments of all those countries consider athletic performance more important than "saving the planet". Who would have guessed?

Today is June 4th, which should be memorialized as "government officials shouldn't be jerks" day.

June 4th, 2004: Marvin Heemayer takes his armored bulldozer on a property destruction rampage, citing issues with zoning laws and access roads. Regardless of whether or not he was justified, it was an impressive feat of engineering and this line from the notes he left are worth remembering:

I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.

June 4th, 1989: CCP, kills hundreds of people and injures thousands of people (at a minimum) clearing out Tiananmen Square. The internet does declare, however, that it is important to note that this incident was Not Real Communism(tm) and rather the result of capitalism, or climate change, or the patriarchy, or transphobia or whatever the Current Day(tm) buzzword is.

I imagine a lot of you are probably familiar with Metatron, but if you aren't he's been on youtube for almost a decade now, making primarily very detailed and well-researched historical videos. Almost 750k subs, and over 800 videos during that time.

Couple days ago, Youtube decided to fully remove all monetization from his channel (his (extremely naive IMO) video on this is here).

Personally, I think it is obvious why this happened. Two weeks ago, he made this video pointing out that the ancient Greeks were, in fact, not actually pro-gay which got over 1 million views. And a week ago he made this other video talking about how the black Cleopatra thing was rubbish and that there were better choices to pick from if they wanted black warrior queens which got over 500k views.

And then his channel suddenly just loses all monetization? Such a strange coincidence!

This is just plain funny.

Back in June, workers in one of their stores voted to unionize. Fast forward to yesterday, and Apple decided to increase benefits for all of its employees - except for that one store.

Legally, Apple had no choice, since the presence of the union means they have to negotiate a new contract with the union every time they change anything. And it doesn't change the fact that virtually every aspect of Apple's products and business models and politics are garbage. But, it's still quite amusing on how the union employees are now doing worse than all other Apple employees.
