It's worse than that: the ingredients correctly list that it is made with cream, it just doesn't have an extra allergy warning telling people that it has milk (cream) in it.
So, even if you were the stupidest person on the planet and didn't know butter was made with milk, you still would have been fine if you read the ingredients list.
Eggs are in the dairy section, too. That's not quite a be-all end-all.
Bottom 20 percent of society (a very diverse group) forces all the stupid rules onto the rest of us.
I ask you to remember your time in school. Were teachers more inclined to make rules to restrict typically behaving students, or make new rules to restrict and be able to punish the worst behaved members of the class? The bottom chunk of any group is going to be what determines what rules are needed to keep things remotely civil. Most people won't engage in murder, but because there is a subgroup that will do so penalties and disincentives need to be in place to dissuade them. (Putting aside that many of the people who engage in violent crime don't think about the consequences [or any second order thinking] they aren't so much deterrents as ways to in theory remove bad actors after they've acted)

How long until the milk is recalled for not listing what it's made of / where it comes from?
These days there's a bunch of margerines that don't contain any milk, and for someone like me who is lactose intolerant, that's a big deal. Though I wouldn't be dumb enough to buy something that says "butter" unless it specifically said that it was vegan on the label. I'm not vegan btw, just lactose intolerant.
This is a side effect of governmental overreach. Same with P’Nutt and Fred getting euthanized. Same as fucking Waco. The government needs reducing bad or we will need licenses to buy butter and offending someone is a capital offense.
