That'd be about the only commodity that's through the floor right now. Even precious metals have pretty much rebounded to what they were Tuesday.
I have more imaginary retirement dollars worth of stuff in my 401k now than ever before.
If we get any subset of:
- effective DOGE
- purge of FDA/CDC
- purge of CIA/FBI
- purge of DOJ
- no more aid to Ukraine/Israel
- no new wars
- border patrol starts patrolling the border again instead of being illegal immigrant couriers
- no more flying illegal immigrants directly into the country
I will consider it at least a minor success.
Remember how Trump was campaigning in blue states near the end? Almost like he didn't think he was going to lose any of the swing states and might be able to pick up some blue ones?
Remember how Kamala was campaigning in blue states near the end? Almost like she didn't think she had any chance to win any swing states and was worried about losing some blue ones?
Watching what people do is far more useful than listening to what they say.
Something like 1.4 million votes cast in Arizona for president.
And 2.1 million votes cast for the Kari Lake senate seat.
Totally legit.
*edit: numbers have been updated and it's much closer now. Still difficult to believe that Trump voters wouldn't have also picked Lake.
When Obama won I didn’t throw a tantrum because I had to go to work
That's the difference. They don't have real jobs with consequences if they don't show up; at best they have classes ... which were canceled by their leftist professors.
Unfortunately counting ballots well after Election Day
And kicking out poll watchers to "count" them in the middle of the night by running the same ballots through voting machines repeatedly while counting was supposed to be "stopped"... Then suing Guiliani for defamation for pointing it out and stealing all of his money and property to give it to two ghetto trash bitches.
Then courts refusing to hear a single case and throwing them all out on procedural grounds of standing or laches.
There were plenty of shenanigans. There's a possibility, obviously, that they all meant nothing and that the election was legitimate. But what it absolutely, 100%, was not, is credible.
Listened to him with Blonde last night. My bigger issue with his stance is that he seems to focus almost entirely on national politics.
How are decent local politicians supposed to get in to at least attempt to unseat the socialist freaks if you refuse to vote? You're just ceding the entire political machine to them in the hopes that they won't murder you before it collapses and that you'll survive the collapse.
Neither should be offered.
If you don't want your opinions out there, don't put them out there. If you want them limited, then make the entire account limited and invisible to everyone except those that you explicitly whitelist.
If you don't want replies, just hide them from the mute-r. But let the mute-ee reply and show them right along next to the other publicly visible replies.
Fuck this noise of "I want to be a public figure and make public statements but I don't want anyone to be able to respond in a way that I don't like."
That's a stupid heuristic.
You'd refuse to vote for a Thomas Massie or Ron/Rand Paul just because you'd voted for them twice already?
And you're refusing to vote for arguably the US president in (at least) 40 years because you already voted for him twice?
I've got a couple of heuristics that help and kind of mitigate the need for things like SBI detected:
Cal arts or similar shitty art style? Ignore.
Received any awards from any "game festivals"? Ignore.
Marketing materials feature quotes from mainstream gaming publications? Ignore.
Female protagonist? Ignore, unless she looks traditionally beautiful, or shown to be actually sexy.
Black protagonists with dreadlocks? Ignore.
Black protagonists featured first? Ignore.
Yeah, this does catch some stuff that might actually not suck, but oh well. There's plenty of other stuff to play.
Plus Factorio: Space Age just came out so that should keep me occupied for the better part of 2025.
Not sure who you've been listening to but there's been a ton of emphasis on down-ballot races on the commentators that I listen to. e.g. Dan Bongino has interviews every Sunday and they are frequently senate/house candidates.
It's happened to me personally, when a woman that I briefly dated who I hadn't heard from in a while called me out of the blue to chat, then eventually asked who I was voting for.
Then she and her boyfriend just went nuts. I kept it civil but it was really damn tempting to just say, "you know, I broke up with you because you simply weren't that great in bed."
