What a coincidence, I just watched it last night. I'd say that I also generally enjoyed it. Chris Evans was definitely hamming it up in his role, but I didn't mind it so much because the character was written to be kind of unbelievably assholish anyway. The ham kind of fit. Gosling played almost the exact same character he's played in every action movie, but I do enjoy him in that kind of role.
There's definitely the one super capable woman character, but she is the only one. And to be fair she does get beat in her final fight scene, only surviving because her male opponent lets her off the hook (though that doesn't excuse her first fight scene where she handily defeats several men bigger than her, and also doesn't excuse the frankly insane accuracy with a grenade launcher and RPG while under fire running in full sprint). So...one point against uber-capable and like 10 in the other direction. The only other two female characters (besides the kid) I can think of weren't shown to be good at fighting, though they were shown to be good at blowing themselves up and shooting already defeated and exhausted men.
Not knowing anything about Rust, was the original team even any better? I make an automatic assumption that any "moderation" team is always stocked with nothing but mentally ill leftists.
Present company excluded, Dom.
When you've dropped a twenty down the gutter, you might as well throw your wallet to make sure it has company, I guess.
They ruled that even if a prisoner has proved their innocence, they may have to stay behind bars anyway
I'm confused. Obviously this is Slate, so I don't assume much in the way of intelligence from the author, so I'm not sure if my confusion is due to my poor knowledge or the simple fact that this is a Slate article.
- What case is this referring to?
- What was the actual decision?
- Does anyone in the US "prove innocence?" I'm of the understanding that the prosecution proves guilt, instead. Given that they didn't actually link anything here, and giving Slate more leeway than I'm comfortable doing, maybe I'm just ignorant of how appeals work or of how the process works where new technology comes into play (e.g. DNA sequencing that has cleared convicted felons of past crimes).
I had to look it up.
I would not have guessed it, and in fact, after researching it, still do not know what the fuck it was.

So a body count of 1?
Boy has to step up his game if he ever wants a shot at the presidency.
Part of the monetary settlement that Depp was to pay Heard was to go to the ACLU, per Heard's explicit demand.
That's why the ACLU is intertwined in the defamation suit.
My current company uses 4 spaces as default best practices and it is killing me.
How about we meet in the middle: have half of all characters in Disnsy films be transwhatever, sure. Then, have half of those characters commit gruesome suicides on screen.
I think I can live with this compromise.
Ah, interesting, okay. Now that I see numbers it does make a lot of sense.
Graphing just the test scores showed Texas with significantly worse scores. Then he showed them broken out by race and for every race Texas had better test scores for any given race.
I don't know if there's something I'm just not understanding here, but I don't see how it's possible to have higher scores in every subcategory without having higher scores in the combined category.
One can only hope.
What does the amp at the end of the URL signify? I'm not familiar with it.
NO other possible reasoning for the high prices. No sirree.

At what level of persecution of Russian citizens do you literally just give Russia the moral imperative to invade you?
I would argue you might have already passed it.
But at least they didn't get her on the big ticket items, counselling to commit tomfoolery and buffoonery.
Taking down a website and gloating about it is like throwing white out on a newspaper and claiming you've taken down the media.
What's the over/under on this new instance of her blackwashing a historically white character getting someone killed again?
India: Indian
Arab countries: Arab

What a bunch of fucking basic bitches.
What? That's idiotic. So idiotic I don't think I can believe you without proof.
If you don't want restrictions, just agree to my restrictions.
If your smart TV and your laptop are on the same wi-fi, you probably have an option to just stream your laptop screen to your TV. Effectively that's the same as your HDMI cable solution, just with fewer wires. It might also make your laptop screen black, so that could be helpful if you find the laptop screen distracting while watching TV (although on that note, couldn't you just turn the laptop around or close the screen partway?)
Another option that I haven't personally tried but sounds promising is Plex, though that has a much higher setup time.
