Interesting. Fact is Greece relies on tourism for their economy. Immigrants kill tourism, who wants to go get raped on their vacation.
And it drives me insane how progressive Christians think it’s the Christian thing to do to have zero borders and let people in who hate the culture.
Those are churchians, not Christians. They’re the same people who believe that somehow Christianity got it wrong for 1700 years and only their most modern branch of Christianity is relevant.

We used to persecute heretics...maybe that was the right thing to do all along. I'm not sure though, it probably got abused to persecute political opponents but damn if the heretics aren't running rampant now.

Search for meteora Greek monasteries, the effort they had to go thru in order to defend against invading muslims and now to just allow them in.

I believe we should love everyone ideally as Jesus commanded. Also it is illogical to bring people in who hate your society
you can love them and still beleive they need a frank conversation with god, face-to-face, asap.
also. Jesus may love them equally, but you're not Jesus. and there are a couple other harder and more important things to do to get closer to him, before you start to "love" random biotrash.
Love includes keeping them off the path to evil, but that would be mean so we've abandoned that.
Many of the Bible’s prescriptions are interdependent. Taken in a vacuum, isolated pieces of “God’s wisdom” can be enormously destructive if applied outside the context of a wholly just and moral society. Sorta like how the US constitution is really only useful in governing a moral people.
I get that but I do think we should be following Christ’s example. I want to help those in need, I really do but it seems that people really have become experts at taking advantage of any whiff of compassion

There is not a single place in Europe that has been made better by immigration. Not one.

Way back when, the German Mennonites fled persecution and Tsarist Russia invited them to come on over! This greatly benefitted Russia (Ukraine).
Later they fled Russian persecution too & came to Canada by invitation. Canada and the USA prospered wherever Mennonites settled.

I recall there was a brief time when the Italian Navy would drag any ship (or boat) in violation back to it's harbour of origin, dump the people off & sink it. Those rubber rafts would get shredded at sea & the people returned by force.

I’m sure there will be those who say this is inhumane. I wish there could be a law stating that those who support unfettered immigration/mass migration should be forced to take them in. Yea I know that is a pipe dream. Just like I wish those who hate the west were sent to live in the third world country of their choosing or the “stolen land” people should have to live like a Native American tribe did in 1500.
There's nothing wrong with them being required to stay back and fix their own home. If your house burns down, are you entitled to move in and permanently claim the home of someone down the street?
I agree. I think this is long overdue. It’s abundantly clear that people who champion mass immigration don’t feel the effects of it. I just think of all the open border people and would love to ask why they don’t take in everyone, but yes not coming here at all is the best solution.
Traditionally? A good neighbor will "take you in" and help you and your family. They have a fire? You give them food & shelter until their relatives and friends come to help them get back on their own feet.
But now that's become: take care of them forever, and 10 of their deadbeat relatives too. 80% of these "refugees" never intend to "build their own home" they're here to sponge off the system for generations to come. In their culture? This is the 2nd best way to live. (The 1st best being to be rich like the 10% are, but that's unlikely so second place = win!)

Whenever I see these pictures I always wonder who's paying for the nice -straight out of the shipping crate- inflatable rafts these "migrants" are swanning around on.
Someone needs to follow the money and start seizing assets.
Each person in that raft paid anywhere between $1000 to $5000 usd for the seat. It is extremely profitable! Usually the 'coyotes' aren't even on the boats, they hire some deadbeats or simply instruct a couple of migrants how to run the things.
Most "ports of departure" have heavy restrictions on things like this, but $$$ makes it happen. So the $$$ gets spread out among other smugglers, corrupt cops & corrupt officials. Keeping the wheels greased, eh?
