It doesn't take a crystal ball to foresee the probable 'racism' angle to really pile on pity points (Hawwy thinks Snape is sus becuz black, Hawwy's parents waz bigguts, Elvis Doubledoor dint gib him the job he disserved).
The big question I have is, if they wanted to emphasize the strength of character of Snape with a race-swap, why not cast a black woman (maybe make Snape a transmen if you like)? It would add so much needed flavor to potions and bring in so many roads to one intersection.
